Especially for those who might have urgent payments and when they try to the app responds either with an error, or an unexpected maintenance that was not messaged out. Also trying to log into the website will also render useless because when the site is under maintenance the app is also useless to use. Not to mention the jankiness of the whole app making it difficult to move money sometimes. Also would be good to see if could get apple pay aswell as it would be helpful for those who might have forgotten their card or don’t like bringing it around with them for potential risk of theft. ### 2/5 — Some improvement needed *2025-04-22, version 2407.2.0* Would be better if it reflects the transactions accurately. The “funds hold” can be quite confusing. I switched from ANZ to SBS for my credit card. Also, Apple Pay is a must need. Also sbs needs Apple Pay. ### 2/5 — Unresponsive and has connectivity issues *2021-05-10, version 20.12.0* SBS uses a third party system to run its online banking services which has lead to a sluggish app. Sometimes the app takes way too long after inputting fingerprint, or sometimes it fails to fetch my transaction history. It really is quite annoying, especially if you use it almost daily to keep track of spending on a credit card. I haven’t experienced this with any other bank app I’ve tried (ANZ, Kiwibank, Heartland and Rabobank). Please please fix. Everything else with SBS is good, but the app is a real killer! ### 3/5 — Much better than I thought it would be *2021-02-09, version 20.5.1* Being a smaller bank I was worried what type of app I would get. I use bank apps to do absolutely everything I need banking wise. So really need an app that can deliver that. This app is good, but definitely can be better. Suggested updates: different colours for withdrawals and deposits-easier to see, be able to make changes to automatic payments - like changing the amount, be able to skip payments rather than delete and try to remember to set it up again, Apple Pay. ### 3/5 — App review *2020-09-21, version 19.11.4* All in all yous are missing a lot of things others already have like widgets to see balances easier and Apple Pay? The app was a lot more user friendly before the update. Just comes up with error messages far too often and won’t open. At least do something about it and improve this otherwise don’t bother making a rubbish app. ### 1/5 — Inferior *2023-04-11, version 22.6.1* Sick of the ap contantly failing with error messages several times a day. Tried to make a tax payment from my account numerous times, every time I get a message saying ‘an error occurred’. No recourse to anything from that. Occasionally while using it it would close down with a message saying ‘you have been logged out due to inactivity’. Yes, while I was using it. So for me at least, the app isn’t worth having if I can’t do what I need to do on it. ### 1/5 — Password field doesn’t like long passwords *2022-11-15, version 21.12.2* Can’t use a password with more than 20 characters, it’s fine for the website but the app says the password field has an invalid entry. Probably should fix that as autogenerated passwords are usually generated at a bare minimum of 20 characters and personal I prefer going into the 30 or 40 character range for security ### 1/5 — Broken *2022-09-30, version 21.12.2* App doesnt work on my iphone, keeps telling me that an unexpected error has occurred and will not allow me to log in ### 1/5 — Can’t login if password over 20 chars *2022-09-04, version 21.12.2* Unbelievable that in 2022 a bank mobile app does not let you log in if your password is more than 20 characters long. It simply doesn’t let you type in anything after 20. Ridiculous ### 1/5 — Terrible *2022-06-19, version 21.9.6* Over the past two years I have sent numerous complaints about this app. It force closes, times out while trying to use it, won’t log on etc. I will have to look at moving banks if things don’t change quickly. ### 1/5 — Too basic. *2021-07-11, version 20.12.0* I have accounts with one of the big four as well as SBS, their app and options in online banking is so far behind the others they simply do not compete. A suggestions I would give is that deposits and withdrawals are different colours to make them more obvious. Nice and intuitive to use, all the features that I like are there (quick peek at balance, reordering accounts, easy to pay someone and transfer). I would give SBS a 5 star review if they introduced Apple Pay!
