### 5/5 — Everything I’ve been looking for

In addition to easy seating chart creation and use, this app has what I’ve been looking for in a class assist app- random group creation and random choosing of student. It will even leave absent students out of groups. I can add student photos to my seating chart. It is often updated with better and better features. I use it all day every day. Bravo!

I have been using this for a while and it is pretty good. It has been updated a lot to make it more user- friendly. I like to create custom seating charts but any empty seats I can’t delete. I have to drag them way off to the side and they mess up the format. Can you make it so that I can delete unused seats?

**Developer response:** As requested, version 4.64 includes the ability to delete individual empty seats.  The way you delete the seats is: (1) Make sure the toggle to show hidden seats is set to show hidden seats so you can see the seats you want to delete, (2) Go to the Seating Chart Menu, and select the option to edit the Layout, (3) Long hold any EMPTY seat (this does not work with assigned seats) without dragging it, and select the context menu option to delete that seat.  It will then be deleted.

Let’s face it, there aren’t too many seating chart apps out there. I’ve probably tried them all. As someone who has 500+ students a week, a seating chart app with pictures is crucial for my job. The downfall of this app is that visually, it isn’t the greatest when it comes to graphics appeal. It is a little wonky in the beginning trying to navigate all the menus and how to do certain things. However, once you get used to it, it’s all good. The app works perfectly and does everything I need for a music teacher needing something like this.  BONUS points for the developer Robert who is quick to respond to emails and suggestions!!!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review.  *. The menu was recently simplified (re: difficulty navigating menus); all of the class editing functions (class name, student list management, and seating chart) are now under "Edit Class" as of February 2026.

This app has what I’ve been looking for in a class assist app- random group creation and random choosing of student. However it doesn’t have the option to just view the seating chart. You can see it to move students, to take attendance, to modify it, etc. But I just want to open a static view and see the seating chart. It seems like the most basic item was skipped.

Works ok. Attendance is misspelled in the attendance window. Can you make it so the students fill the entire screen rather than just crunched up at the top? It would also be nice to change the backgrounds to our own liking.

**Developer response:** Thank You For Your Review! A spread-out seating option has been added, and seating charts that are not spread out should now be centered. Starting with v4.23, the 'spread out' option should not just spread them out but bias the seats towards the center if there's extra room. In May 2025, I readdressed some of these issues, as both spreading out seats and centering needed some fixes.  Several spellings have been corrected. I blame that on the fact that, as a developer, I prefer small fonts so I can fit more on the screen, while at the same time being in my 50s and having relatively poor vision.

I love this app for organizing all my classes and seating charts. You can move students to new seats with a touch of a button. Very user friendly for creating groups and for cold calling on students with the random student button. 

The few things I didn’t like about the app I emailed to the designer and he fixed within a day! I’ve been looking for a good class management app for a while now and this one is really good.

### 2/5 — Minor issues that become major

Overall I like this app it’s just rendered unusable due to formatting issues.

Pros: this is a fairly straightforward app and allows you to track attendance, create groups, randomly select names, and track basic homework data quickly. It is super simple to use. 

Cons:
1. You cannot import a list of student names you must type each name individually!!!
2. when typing student names in it is black text in a black field so you cannot see if you have made a mistake.
3. there is no way to edit a student name in the same place where you enter them. you have to go back out into a different area and then you can edit the names if you mess up.
4. when you create groups it is white text on a light/white background. this makes it impossible to read the names of most of the students in the groups.
5. The app does not allow you to copy and paste/highlight names from the groups. So if you wanted to present the groups to the class you would have to retype everyone’s name whatever you can present them.
6. I did not see a print function for the seating charts. This is necessary so that you have seating charts for substitutes.
7.It would be nice if you could choose your arrangement instead of just rose and columns.

This app, while simple and straightforward, does not allow for a seating chart other than traditional rows, which defeats my purpose in purchasing it. I had hoped to create a chart with groups, but this is not possible within this app.

**Developer response:** When you wrote this in 2019, this was true.  In 2026 (and since about 2022), this is no longer true.  Thanks for the feedback; it helped improve the app.

-Fix for camera issue (taking student photos).
-Change delete student behavior so it doesn't go back to main menu after each student deleted (this was historically done for older versions of the menu structure, and was no longer necessary, it may have led to the illusion that the app was resetting each time).

-Language Translation Issues Corrected: Two new options were recently added to the seating chart menus, but language translations for languages other than English had not been added, and this corrects that.
-The prior message for the reset seating chart screen, advising that rows and columns are what you start with, but you could reposition seats on the seating chart menu, was put back.

-Important fix: App Store "privacy policy" links were updated, many were pointed to outdated or non-existent links ( depending on languages).
-The teacher who initially designed the app (not the developer) pointed out that teachers like easy access to update the seating chart, and reviews in the app store from some counties agree.  So, I added to the top right menu of all seating charts (sometimes called a 'hamburger menu') two options: (1) Reassign Seats, (2) Update Seating Layout.  They take you to the appropriate chart for editing from any existing seating chart.
-The distribution certificate was updated (it was expiring soon).
-A general French translation was added

This Update is just a store listing update (with a Screenshot addition).  I do store listing updates independently of App updates; however, the App Store interface for developers requires us to submit an update when refreshing the store listing.
===Prior Update Included==
BUG FIX: Pinch-to-Zoom was not working only on the Customize Layout Seating Chart (it worked everywhere else).  Pinch-to-zoom is now working on the Custom Layout Seating Chart screen.  
-Also, now preserving the seat size for future (not quite ready) cross-platform (i.e., tablet vs. phone) backup data file compatibility.  Right now, iPad and iPhone use different seat sizes, but remember that the original seat size will help things line up better when this code is fully ready.
