Love this app ### 5/5 — Incredibly useful architects scale *2016-05-04* This app is so useful both on site and at the office. The interface is beautiful -- simple, functional and intuitive to use. I've highly recommended scala to all the architects and GCs I work with ### 5/5 — Useful tool *2016-04-27* Super useful app for architects on the go or at the site to quickly analyze drawings and get dimensions. Easy interface. I haven't found any other app that has these abilities and ease of use. Also, definitely worth the $2.99 to get the additional scales. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not happy *2018-07-22* App isn't very good for architectural drawings especially if the scale on the plans is different to the size paper that is being used. Ie it should be able to convert the following 1:100@AO is what on A3? **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your concern. Fortunately there is a feature in the app called 'Variable Scale' that measures a printed drawing of any scale regardless of paper size. I do have a request, though I wish you could move the ruler up and down from the fixed point. This would help get the information you need even know your device isn’t long enough. I know this would eliminate a true measurement, but maybe you could lock the ruler in place. Other than that if your measurements are in range of your device that’s app is amazing! I highly suggest you buy the premium version as well!! ### 5/5 — Very Useful! Great App *2022-11-17* 2022 I still use this app daily. I'd still like to see a decimal inch/mechanical scale and a way to enter the variable scale numerically.........2016 As a civil engineer this is a very handy app. Working with arch and civil and mech scales is needed and when you forget one or need one surprised you're covered! The variable scale feature in this app is invaluable!! My wish list would include a full scale decimal inch readout. It's there but you need to read the numbers out of the display. Also a flip direction would help. Then two sliders to measure the delta and shift the 0 point would be helpful. ### 5/5 — Handy tool *2021-03-14* The only thing I would like to see in this app is the ability to measure longer dimensions that the 5-1/2” lengths of the iPhone. I was trying to add some measurements and was hoping to be able to pull down the scale on the right side and get 6” or 7” but it seemed that the measurement stopped at 5.5”. ### 5/5 — Dead On Accurate! Everyone to whom I have shown this handy app is impressed, especially with the "variable scale" since drawings at the job site - or even in the office - are so often printed to fit a sheet of paper, leaving the scale unknown. I enthusiastically recommend this beautifully intuitive app to all my design and construction colleagues! ### 5/5 — Perfect for in the field, architects *2016-07-04* I have been using this app recently to measure items at 1:1 scale in the field. (Things less than 3.5 inches in width – the height of my screen). It’s amazing how handy it comes in when normally I would be eyeballing a measurement (what is the width of that guardrail post, for example?) and have the ability to get concrete measurements easily. I also use this app in the field to scale drawings quickly and find information, such as door widths.
