## What is Scales Lexicon?

Over 100 scales notated and played for you, including note names diatonic and melodic intervals. Transposition for instruments in Ab, Eb, Bb, F, C, G, D, A, and E. Play along! Create a pdf of the notation and piano key markings for sharing or printing. Listen and watch the notes and piano keys highlight as it plays.

Notation in treble, alto, tenor or bass clef. See the scale notated correctly, with double sharps and flats as needed. For example, Gb minor has a B double flat, not an A.
Concert key signatures are supported to the common seven sharps or flats.
Transposing key signatures can contain twelve sharps or flats or if selected, use the preferred enharmonic equivalent.

Have the scale played in a wide variety of ways.
• Choose from 11 rhythmic patterns.
• Choose 1, 2 or 3 octaves.
• Loop continuously, or play just once through.
• Select the space between each loop.
• Choose if you want the scale played up, up and down, down, or down and up.
• Includes an optional 2 or 4 beat count-off.

Drive your own software or hardware synth via MIDI to hear what you want, or use the app's own acoustic piano.

A quick and easy reference tool for practicing your instrument. Broaden your knowledge and technique.

### 2/5 — No Audiobus?

*2015-03-31, version 4.0*

at this price point, audiobus is understood to be included.

### 4/5 — Excellent reference

*2012-06-08*

Excellent reference tool. The only reason it gets and not 5 stars is that the Messian modes are incomplete. Well worth the money.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2012-06-01*

I just downloaded this app onto my iPhone and have found it has many very useful features, and is a great aid for practicing scales.

A suggested improvement to get five stars would be to add a help menu and/or tutorial. You can figure it out by 'hope and poke', but explanation would be helpful for first time users and beginner music students. Tutorial could be on web site, with link shown in app store narrative.

### 5/5 — Great reference tool for musicians

*2011-06-21*

This program couldn't be simpler to use while providing a database of scales from the European classical tradition, jazz and pop, world music, and even the modernist world of Messiaen. Transposing keys is a snap, while the ability to vary tempo, register, number of octaves, and rhythmic pattern makes this an invaluable practice tool. Already one of my favorite music apps.

### 4/5 — For the beginnig...

*2011-05-16*

seems to be ok. The sound could be a little bit louder.
Would be nice to have the chords for guitar for each scale too.
Very many scales like it!
Thanks!

### 4/5 — Excellent resource!!!

*2011-05-10*

I wanted an app that could quickly show me the notes from many different scales and this app nails it! I purchased this along with another app that was £4 more expensive than this and to be honest i prefer this one.
