## What is ScanAtlas?

ScanAtlas turns QR, barcode, NFC, AR batch labels, OCR, and private on-device AI into one inventory, inspection, and automation workspace.

Scan products, asset tags, shelf labels, GS1 Digital Links, PDF417 codes, Wi-Fi QR codes, contact cards, event QR codes, or NFC tags. Then track stock, build pick lists, run inspections, sync rows, print labels, and generate custom codes.

SCANATLAS AI ASSISTANT

- Ask ScanAtlas AI about inventory, scans, and analytics for grounded insights, workflow guidance, and reports.
- Conversations and retrieved data stay on your device; after setup, the assistant works offline.
- Review and confirm actions before ScanAtlas updates inventory, moves stock, changes history, or exports reports.

SMART SCANNING

- Capture QR codes, barcodes, and NFC tags with Deep Scan from photos, batch multi-scan, duplicate warnings, zoom, torch, and gallery import.
- AR batch-scanning labels identify multiple barcodes and keep live targets visible through shelves, cartons, and pick runs.
- On-device OCR captures expiry dates, lot and serial numbers, prices, weights, bin or shelf names, notes, and recognized locations.
- Decode GS1 identifiers and Digital Links, Digital Product Passports, AAMVA/PDF417 IDs, boarding passes, Wi-Fi, vCards, events, URLs, email, SMS, and map links.
- Look up products, compare retailer links, and monitor official recalls using barcode and lot matches.

INVENTORY & STOCK CONTROL

- Track quantities, locations, bins, suppliers, costs, low-stock thresholds, expiry, warranty, maintenance dates, notes, photos, and activity.
- Import inventory from CSV, export CSV/PDF restock reports, and create supplier purchase order PDFs from low-stock items.
- Check items in or out, move stock between locations, and review the audit trail.
- Save named map places and connect physical locations with scanned records.

MISSIONS, PICK LISTS & INSPECTIONS

- Use Shelf/Bin Copilot for guided counts, shelf audits, pick runs, and receiving. See expected, found, missing, extra, mismatched, and date-risk items.
- Use AR Find during missions to highlight missing or expected labels in the live camera view.
- Build reusable pick lists, assign work, scan to pick or add, track quantities, clone lists, and export CSV or PDF.
- Run guided templates for warehouse safety, site walks, facility checks, equipment pre-use, maintenance safety, and hazard reports.
- Capture evidence with photos, markups, notes, voice notes, findings, corrective actions, due dates, closeout proof, verification, dashboards, and audit-ready packets.

AUTOMATION, SYNC & REPORTING

- Sync scans, inventory events, mission reports, and inspection rows to Google Sheets or Airtable with offline retry queues.
- Build Scan Flows that react to scan, inventory, or inspection events, then copy values, append notes, fire webhooks, queue labels, save files, or adjust stock.
- Use team workspaces with org-code invites, shared inventory, pick lists, activity, alerts, and feature grants.
- Review inventory, workspace stats, reports, exports, and analytics through the ScanAtlas web dashboard.

CREATE, PRINT & CUSTOMIZE

- Generate QR codes and barcodes for URLs, text, Wi-Fi, contacts, email, SMS, phone, maps, events, GS1 Digital Links, retail codes, warehouse labels, PDF417, Data Matrix, Aztec, and more.
- Customize QR codes with colors, gradients, logos, frames, and saved Creator Templates.
- Bulk-generate from CSV and export print-ready PDF grids or ZIP files of PNGs.
- Print labels from your device with configurable layouts and batch queues.

PRIVACY & APPLE FEATURES

- Protect history, settings, and stock data with Face ID or Touch ID.
- Find past scans through Spotlight and launch actions from Home and Lock Screen widgets.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.6 — 2026-08-01

• Introducing ScanAtlas AI: A private, on-device assistant that understands your inventory, scans, analytics, and workflows. Ask questions, uncover insights, navigate features, and complete supported actions through natural conversation, even offline.
• Massively upgraded Product Lookup with broader coverage across food, electronics, clothing, sports, books, music, pet products, beauty, and medicine—plus more reliable names and images, real-world price ranges when available, automatic inventory price filling, smarter refreshes, and retroactive improvements for previously scanned barcodes.
• Redesigned Create tab with QR/barcode switching and icon-based creation tiles.

### 1.3.5 — 2026-05-26

• Smarter on-device OCR is here. ScanAtlas can now recognize more useful label details, including possible locations, expiry dates, lot numbers, serial numbers, prices, and weights. OCR text is easier to act on too: select captured text or tap a line to save it as a location, add it to notes, or apply it to inventory fields. We also added a “Save this location” action from the History Map for faster place saving.
• New ScanAtlas Inspect mode for Business workspaces: run guided safety inspections, use starter templates, capture findings, assign corrective actions, track closeout, and generate audit-ready reports.
• Inspection evidence now syncs privately across your team with photo uploads, annotations, action history, and one-tap audit packets for completed inspections and corrective action registers.
• Inventory photos now sync across devices and the web dashboard. Attach photos to stock items, save them to your ScanAtlas account, and view them privately from your workspace anywhere you sign in.
• Shared inventory photo handling is now more reliable, with authenticated uploads/downloads and cleaner sync when items are updated or removed.
• New landscape scanner controls: the Scan screen is now much easier to use in landscape on phones and tablets, with a collapsible controls menu, improved zoom access, better spacing, and a layout designed for larger screens. This update also improves usability for batch scanning, camera controls, gallery scanning, and other scanner actions while in landscape mode.

### 1.3.4 — 2026-05-13

• Improved core, batch, deep scan, gallery, and live barcode detection for fewer missed or incorrect scans.
• Added stronger product lookup coverage with better fallback matching, normalization and pricing support.
• Looked-up product names and prices now flow into scan results, inventory, stock, Google Sheets, and Airtable sync fields when configured.
• Added smarter sync setup handling so missing lookup fields are surfaced clearly in Sheets and Airtable settings.
• Scan result screens are smoother, with the camera paused behind results to reduce frame drops.
• Inventory actions now appear for created/generated barcodes when relevant.
• Improved offline webhook retry behavior, API timeout handling, corrupt-cache recovery, and overall app stability.
• Tightened scanner state handling across the app.
• ScanAtlas exports now look more polished and professional across the app. PDF reports for analytics, inventory, purchase orders, pick lists, and bulk barcode sheets have been redesigned with cleaner layouts, branded headers, summary cards, improved tables, and better print formatting.

### 1.3.3 — 2026-04-29

• Improved product lookup and QR inventory support: ScanAtlas now checks more free/open product sources for better matches and prices, and qualifying QR codes like GS1 links, inventory URLs, SKUs, and JSON payloads can show inventory tools in scan results.

• New in-app browser upgrades: pull to refresh with a smooth refresh animation, plus built-in back, forward, reload, share, and open-in-browser controls for easier web dashboard browsing.

• Added a smoother custom color picker for QR styling, making it easier to pick the perfect colors for your codes.

• New ScanAtlas Web Dashboard: Sign in at scanatlas.app to view tracked inventory, workspace stats, reports, exports, and business workflows from your browser, built to make larger inventory operations easier to manage beyond the phone.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-04-24

ScanAtlas 1.3.2 brings Shelf/Bin Copilot, a new guided inventory workflow for location counts, shelf audits, pick runs, and receiving missions. Start a mission, scan through shelves or bins, and instantly see what was found, what is missing, what is extra, and what needs review.

Copilot now works with AR Find mode to help you locate missing stock, recognizes selected inventory items and common barcode aliases like UPC, EAN, GTIN, SKU, and barcode fields, and carries inventory details such as names, locations, bins, suppliers, and date warnings into the mission report automatically.

Mission reports are now more useful too: export/share CSV reports, sync report rows to Google Sheets or Airtable, and trigger mission-level Scan Flow automations or webhooks without spamming every individual scan.

We also improved scanner ergonomics for Copilot sessions, cleaned up crowded scanner controls, fixed the Copilot mission history button, and added smarter contact-saving behavior so contact permissions are requested only when you actually scan a contact QR code and choose to save it.
