So that’s a good start. Very flexible, but needs more support for US codes. My primary use case is scanning GTIN-12 barcodes for my personal shopping and using a keyboard scanner saves the several added steps of scanning, switching apps and then pasting the code. The problem is ScanKey prepends a zero causing any lookups I do to fail unless I manually delete the leading zero. Because I also scan 13 and 8 digit codes I can’t just assume the leading 0 needs to be removed. So close, yet that one issue makes it almost unusable for me. ### 2/5 — Misses the last digit off every barcode *2023-07-19, version 3.0.2* Please fix this! Thank you. Ich vermisse einen Batch Modus. *2023-05-23, version 3.0.2* Oh, die App macht was sie soll. Egal ob man Qr Codes, Barcodes, NFC Tags oder sogar Text scannt. Die App liest alles. Was ich vermisse, ist ein Match Modus. Ich habe den Anwendungsfall, dass ich eine ganze Reihe QR-Codes nacheinander scannen muss. Dabei soll jeder QR-Code in ein Web Formular eingetragen werden und mit Inter bestätigt werden. Danach soll der nächste QR-Code in das Formular eingetragen werden und wieder ein Tag gedruckt werden und so weiter. Die App hat zwar einen Pseudo Batchmodus, in dem die QR-Codes nacheinander gescannt werden können, aber es wird lediglich ein langer String erstellt. Das funktioniert für meinen Anwendungsbereich nicht. Das ist schade, daher einen Punkt Abzug. Vielleicht wird die Funktion ja noch dann gibt es fünf Sterne! Toll wäre auch noch, wenn man alle gescannten Codes samt Datetime in der App speichern und anschließend als Cave Datei exportieren könnte. Insgesamt ist die App sehr gut gelungen und für viele Anwendungsbereiche absolut ausreichend! ### 3/5 — Nearly great! *2023-02-26, version 3.0.2* I was also a little perturbed at allowing full keyboard access but aside from that, the app is nearly great! Only problem is that it misses the last digit on every barcode. Still quicker than typing them all in though. ### 2/5 — Breaks iOS’ multilingual autocorrect *2022-08-03* It took me months to realize that this custom keyboard was the reason why multilingual autocorrect stopped working on my iPhone. You don’t have to be using the keyboard itself. The moment this keyboard is part of your keyboard list, multilingual autocorrect stops working no matter the keyboard you use. ### 5/5 — How is this free!? *2021-12-14* This app is worth $20 easy all the features you could want. Would be nice if i could include a suffix string for batch scanned barcodes. This would help me build my enquiry with software i am using. ### 3/5 — Only works intermittently on iOS 15 *2021-11-16* I've been using this app for several years now, and it's been tremendously valuable. Unfortunately, since upgrading to iOS 15, it doesn't always return the scanned data to the app anymore. Sometimes it still works, but frequently I can scan a barcode, see the value in the scanning window, but get nothing at all in Notes or whatever app once I tap OK. **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your positive feedback! Please fix this bug!! But without the option to choose which camera the app uses, I cannot get it to focus enough on the barcode to read. I think it is because it is using the wide-angle camera instead of using the normal camera. Leider scannt die App keine Barcodes. Egal wie hell oder dunkel es ist. Er erkennt sie nicht. Alle anderen Scanner scannen meine Barcodes sofort (aber eben nicht direkt im Browser). Hier liegt irgendein Bug vor, scheint aber so, als ob die App nicht mehr aktualisiert wird, was sehr schade ist/wäre. ### 1/5 — Needs improvement. *2020-09-21* - Default keyboard should be on Numeric so we can use this keyboard specifically for scanning barcode. - By default auto return should be on - Switching between Keyboard should be easy just by taping on the globe. - “Open app” needs to be removed when we press on the globe. The fact that everything scanned with this app can be uploaded to the developer is a major showstopper!! Assuming the use of the OCR requires the app send data to be processed on the developer backend, but the QR/Barcode feature should be available without me allowing the full access... App uninstalled... **Developer response:** This rating is wrong in so many levels! 1.) I DON'T COLLECT ANY DATA OF THE USE OR UPLOAD THEM TO MY SERVER! I DON'T EVEN OWN A SERVER! 2.) If you are able to read, I explained the reason why full access is necessary in the app under "Why full access?" AND in the FAQ. Also you can read the reason in the official Apple developer guide line: I can only send the scan result from the ScanKey main app (where the scan is performed) to the keyboard (which is handled like a separate app) if the user doesn't allow full access! It's just a technical fact!!! 3.) You can do QR-/Barcode scans AND OCR scans without full access if you just do it from the ScanKey main app! 4.) If you would use your brain, you could just put your iPhone/iPad in airplane mode and perform an OCR scan and it will work - so how could it be processed on a backend which doesn't even exist???
