## What is ScanQuik Photo Scanner?

Bring your printed photographs and photo negatives into the digital world and keep them organized alongside your new photos in one place - your existing photo library. With accurate time and location metadata, your old photos will appear as though they were taken with your iPhone or iPad in the past.

The app offers automatic edge detection, quick adjustment gestures, and a variety of features to help you efficiently scan whole albums, with scanned photos saved in highest quality directly to your Photos library.

Additionally, you can change the time and location of existing photos or videos from within the Photos app using the app extension. Just select desired items and use "Edit time" or "Edit location". By using faviourite locations and map, this offers more advanced way of editing your photo metadata compared to the native feature.

Tips for scanning:
- Sort your photos first by event (location), then by time to minimize changing location or time back and forth
- Use on-screen gestures to adjust time and location more quickly
- Place your photos on a flat and uniform background
- To avoid glare, try to shoot under ambient light (cloudy weather)
- When shooting under a strong light, turn yourself 90 degrees from the light source to avoid glare. Scan the photo, then rotate it back 90 degrees in the app

### 3/5 — Komfortabel aber nur geringe Auflösung

Die Benutzung ist komfortabel, Bilder werden automatisch aufgenommen. Leider wird sehr viel Strom verbraucht, so dass man nach dem Scannen eines Albums schonmal das Ladekabel raussuchen kann - auch bei einem neuen Smartphone. Das ist für mich kein Problem, Punktabzug gibt es aber, weil die Auflösung des digitalisierten Fotos deutlich hinter den Möglichkeiten der Kamera bleibt. Eine bessere Auflösung bekomme ich bei Clearscanner, aber der ist ein wenig weniger komfortabel. Wenn ich mir die Arbeit mache, die alten Schätze zu digitalisieren, macht das auch nicht den großen Unterschied. Hier wäre es wirklich gut, wenn die Auflösung optimiert würde.

Die Funktion der Bearbeitung vom Datum und Zeit benutze ich ausschließlich, da bei meinem Wechsel von Samsung auf Apple jegliche Daten verschoben worden sind. Leider ist die angegebene Zeit nach Bearbeitung der Bilder ca. 8 Stunden zu früh als ich sie eingegeben habe. Das ist sehr nervig, wann man eine exakte Zeit vorher angegeben hat. Da es mir aber nur weitgehend um eine grobe Ordnung der Bilder nach Tagen geht, ist es okay.
