I absolutely loved the stories! I hate how this app makes you pay to read the stories. I hope that you don’t have to pay in the future. If the owner(s) of this app change the money situation I will definitely leave a better review. If you don’t want to pay money to read a story I suggest getting a different app. ### 5/5 — Better than hooked Review *2018-12-14, version 1.1* They have exciting and thrilling stories that could either chill you to the bone or warm your heart! The only thing with Better than hooked is that I'm kind of angry that you have to wait about twenty minutes to finish the story and I would like it better if we didn't have to wait for it. Over all, I do recommend this app to everyone all though it may be unsuitable for younger people. Also there is no final ending. The endings of the chat stories are just cliffhangers. I’m not trying to be rude, but the premium is $5 dollars a week. Let’s be honest, who would want to pay five dollars a week. That would cost $260 a year which would be bad if the stories had an actual plot development. I just didn’t enjoy any aspects of the app. ### 1/5 — Making you pay *2019-02-02, version 1.2* Ok so, when I start to read a story it makes me wait 10 minutes but you have to be in the app for the clock to pass because I went to fortnite and started playing a match and then I get back on the app and like 2 minutes have passed. Not only that some words are covered up by like a picture of an eye and it makes you pay to see what the person said and I honestly don’t recommend this app because like a person will ask a different question then I can’t read it then they move on to a whole new convoy and I don’t know what the question is and I thought the pic was showing up because my phone was glitching but no it was the app making you pay ### 1/5 — App ratings are all fake, Apple should investigate for fraud *2019-02-01, version 1.2* This fake 5.0 rating is an insult to the integrity of the App Store and Apple should ban these developers for doing whatever evil it is they did to swindle this fraud. This app is horrific. I don’t even know where to start on the problems with this app. To give a taste of the thoughtless design here, every single time you tap to go to the next message your phone buzzes, and there’s no way to turn it off. I don’t know what the heck they were thinking when they decided to make it like that. Who wants to get continually buzzed as they try to read a story? All downhill from there. ### 2/5 — Not Free *2022-01-16, version 1.6* So, once you load it, it makes you accept their Privacy Rules. If you don’t the App shuts down on you. You can tap on any Text Story, but you won’t get far long. Immediately, it asks you to purchase the App for a week for $4.99, a month or a year. You don’t even get to try one story, but they expect you to pay without knowing! I tried three different stories, not even 35 texts later (maybe less) you are prompted to pay, now matter what. I mean, I don’t mind paying after I’ve tried something for a longer time, but this is ludicrous. The stories aren’t bad. They’re catchy, but the price is somewhat steep for a fairly new App. I think it could lower the price and let the reader finish one of the text stories at least once. ### 3/5 — Um….. *2021-12-05, version 1.6* Don’t get me wrong i love the app but why is it making me wait 10 minutes so i can buy from them when i don’t want to buy please fix this i really didn’t want to delete it but its making wait 10 minutes to pay what if you don’t want to pay like for a year to see pics it use to be 200 something please fix this it is really stupid like why? ### 3/5 — Annoying 😕 *2020-10-19, version 1.6* Why does this app have a 10 min waiting thing on it??? BUT. They’re really pushing for their premium membership. There’s pictures and (maybe?) phrases that are cut out unless you pay. There’s a timer that, when it runs out, you gotta wait 10 minutes until you can continue reading. Running ads would have been much better than this. On top of that, the premium membership ship costs $20 a MONTH. It’s literally insane. I get that businesses need to make money, but what is this? EA? Currently weighing pros and cons of uninstalling. ### 3/5 — I don’t understand...... *2019-01-04, version 1.1* Out of 1,739 reviews, EVERY single person gave this app 5 stars regardless of the complaints they have. Was there some kind of “Get the app for free if you rate us 5 stars” bribe I missed? Don’t get me wrong, the only story I’ve been able to read since I downloaded it yesterday wasn’t that bad. However, the problem I have is with the “10 minute” wait time. It seems like the time only counts down when the app is open. During the very first wait, I went to another app to kill time and after several minutes or so I went back to this app and only 30 seconds had passed. I thought I was going crazy but I paid more attention the other times and sure enough, the time hardly moved. Has no one else experienced this or not have an issue with it? I’ve read many reviews and it wasn’t mentioned by one person (although, I didn’t read all of them because there are just way too many) but judging on 1,739 5 stars I’m guessing no one else has this issue. Also, I didn’t get very far in the story before the wait time came up so that was also disappointing. If these 2 issues weren’t issues I may just rate it 5 stars but if it continues I may just end up deleting it instead. ### 4/5 — Great stories! *2019-12-18, version 1.6* I love this App, very good and very addicting and why isn’t there an option to watch videos to unlock instead of waiting... I have other similar app and you can watch videos to unlock... plz create an option to watch to unlock, I don’t want and can’t wait to finish my story. Yay! *2018-12-30, version 1.1* I\'ve been looking for an app like this for the longest time! I downloaded Hooked, but deleted it immediatley and downloaded Texting Story right away! My best friend and I can\'t get enough of it, we read all the time! We beg our teachers to let us read! However, the latest update is not so good. I love the app, definetley download it if you don\'t want to pay for hoots on Hooked. But if you do download, don\'t get the latest update, it improved speed and bug fixes, but reuined the stories. It makes the bar at the top stay there and makes the boxes square. The new update is strange. The creator of this app put an add asking to rate the game and after that it cuts you off! So the creator off this game wants you to buy the rest of your story... how stupid. I gave this a 1 star rating for that reason. And also I have it a one is because I don’t want the creator to get paid for making you buy the game...
