### 5/5 — It will cause drain bamage

*2020-02-17*

Took a while to decide to buy this app, after several reviews/demo’s I was a No-Brainer.There is more to this app then you think.I think it is the best creative app so far in 2020.Now up to adding mononoke .That looks like an amazing new toy to add to the Bram collection. Goed were Bram!

### 5/5 — Another dawless jamming essential

*2020-02-15*

... from the master of dawless jamming AUv3 tools! Simple but deep tool for playing multiple effect chains like instruments. Build your own effectrix! Looking forward to using this in every AUM session.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2020-02-15, version 1.0.1*

Fun and useful.

### 5/5 — Genius

*2020-02-15, version 1.0.1*

Such a brilliant plugin, it can turn even the most boring loop into something infinitely creative. I was thinking last night it would be good to have a form of envelope control over the slices and today as if they read my mind, an update makes this possible.
This app has opened a Pandora’s box of creative ideas and being able to route to different audio channels where you can add your own unique effects combinations makes this a game changer.
Thank you!

### 5/5 — Genius at work

*2020-02-15, version 1.0.1*

This app is brilliant. A simple idea really well done, and to realize simple ideas that give so much fun you need to have talent. Thanks @brambos 🤟👏

### 5/5 — Another top notch app from a great developer

*2020-02-13*

One thing I can always count on with any Bram Bos app is that in the first afternoon of enjoying it I always feel that I’ve got my money’s worth. (So future days of enjoyment end up feeling like I’m getting them for free!) Scatterbrain is no exception. Making music by selectively slicing and dicing a single audio stream and feeding each stream to a different effect opens up such musical possibilities! (Especially if you feed one of the streams to a multi effect like Turnado and spend some time going nuts with the random button.) And of course, Scatterbrain has a random button too! Absolutely delightful!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t open in GarageBand

*2026-03-22*

Need to get a refund for this.

**Developer response:** GarageBand indeed does not support multi-output for Audio Unit plugins. Seems a bit harsh to give the plugin a 1-star rating because GarageBand is missing a feature? Anyway you can request a refund via the App Store.

### 1/5 — Paid for it. Run app and nothing but instruction on UI

*2021-01-29*

I think someone forgot to test the last update maybe? On my iPad I paid for the app, loaded it, opened it, and all it does is show a picture with. notes explaining all the buttons on the user interface. No way to get beyond that. I will rate it higher if it is fixed and works.

**Developer response:** Hi, it’s an Audio Unit plugin (AUv3), it works by opening it as an audio effect into a plugin host, such as Garageband, Cubasis, AUM, Audiobus, Nanostudio etc. In standalone mode it only shows a quick user guide.

### 3/5 — App not opening just frozen homepage? Please advise

*2020-05-04*

App not opening just frozen homepage? Please advise

**Developer response:** This is an Audio Unit plugin. You should open it as an AU (Audio Unit) plugin from your host and not run it as a standalone app. Let me know which host you’re using so I can tell you how to insert it in your projects.

### 4/5 — cool

*2024-02-15*

syncs to bpm which is very important, its has a destructive implication with the use of percussive patterns, sometimes it rearranges music to were is doesn’t sound right, love that it uses chance so that it’s unpredictable

### 4/5 — Question

*2020-12-10*

When I load up the app it’s just a picture of how to use it nothing else pops up my device is compatible too

**Developer response:** Hi, Scatterbrain is an Audio Unit effect plugin. You should load it up in an Audio Unit plugin host as an effect (AUM, Garageband, Cubasis, Nanostudio, etc). If you want to use the multichannel feature, make sure the host is compatible with Multi-channel AUv3 plugins.

### 4/5 — Nice

*2020-05-14*

Hey. I purchased your app. Not working in Garage Band for the first time I tried to use it. Now it’s working and it Pretty dope

**Developer response:** Yes, it does. Although Garageband does not support multi-output plugins (nothing I can do about that) it will load Scatterbrain as a regular Audio Unit plugin. Please look into how to use Audio Unit plugins (AUv3) and reconsider your 1-star review. Thanks.

### 5/5 — A sprinkle of magic

*2023-06-01, version 1.1.2*

Love this fx 🥰 if your wanting to add a little sprinkling of magic to your mix just bung this on a channel and let it shine . Bus it out and add a couple more fx and wow simple to scintillating in an instant 🥰👍

### 5/5 — So good.

*2023-03-11*

There’s nothing like it that I’ve found anywhere. Amazing little plugin that can take somewhat bland beats and make them extremely fresh. A work of art

### 5/5 — More Bram Genius!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Freezes on opening screen.

*2020-11-19, version 1.1.1*

I really want to like this app. It sounds like it would be exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for. Unfortunately it freezes on the opening screen where the help text overlay is displayed and I can’t get any further.

Edit: my mistake. It was a prob led with the way I was using it. I have it working now and it is as awesome as everyone says!

### 5/5 — Super Cool!

*2020-05-26, version 1.1.1*

Great work!

### 5/5 — Great 👍

*2020-03-09*

I like and use this app a lot, because it‘s easy to quickly get some (un)expected results while you can use your favorite fx apps. Very usefull for resampling percussive stuff of all kinds (but not restricted to).

For future update: Would be even cooler if I could set the volume instead of only set the outputs to on/off/maybe. That way I could mix all (4) outs and use them in different combinations. It’s already possible to chose mutiple outs for each step, but beeing able to mix them would be premium.

Right now, when I select multiple outputs for a certain step in the sequence the result often gets too loud and then need some extra care. 😭

Imagine long pressing one of the white dots would reveal a simple volume fader to quickly fix the problem...wow.

### 5/5 — Inspirational

*2020-02-29, version 1.1*

Again Bram kills it with yet another genius bit of kit. The fact that this only costs £3.99 is preposterous! This will open up all sorts of ideas with your old loops or anything rhythmical. Cheers Bram, you’ve smashed it again ✌️

### 5/5 — iOS TOP Developer!

*2020-02-21*

Bram macht EXTREM innovative apps für’s iOS Universum: Another masterpiece!

### 5/5 — Dope!

*2020-02-20, version 1.0.1*

Little brother to the ever popular effectrix plugin ...super dope
