How convenient. As mentioned in the other reviews, the “reader” cuts you off before you even get to finish your line, so you’d have to keep restarting your scene hoping that it’ll actually let you finish for at least ONE take. Even had an instance where literally half of the screen went black. Just use the 3 free scenes they give you, then don’t bother subscribing to any plans. Move on to a different app. Total bait & switch. ### 1/5 — can’t event get your line out *2026-08-08* you don’t finish your line before it skips and talks over you **Developer response:** Hi there! I'm so sorry it was giving you problems with properly detecting your speech. This can def be frustrating. Some voices it does struggle with, though we are working on some additional improvements, we hope to roll out in the near future to address the inconsistencies with speech recognition. In the mean time you can try timed or manual playback mode to allow you to control the pacing instead of having it auto detect speech. It's certainly not ideal but can work as a fallback when speech recognition struggles. Hope this helps! ### 2/5 — Needs ALOT of work *2026-09-11* I've used this app several times. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it works, np. The next the sounds is low, or the app doesn't recognize your voice and stops reading the lines mid-sentence--like toda in the middle of a self-tape with a deadline. I've finally given up on it. ### 2/5 — Only works when it wants to *2026-07-02* Great app and tool when it works. Usually for me it just doesn’t. I have the brand new iPad so it’s not a device issue, but half of the time, it just does not hear my lines. I hope it gets fixed because I have restarted and tried different browsers and always a bug. Which is strange because the microphone button says it can hear me perfectly, but when its time to run the scene it fails. I either have no issues or days when nothing I try works. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I'm so sorry it was giving you problems detecting your voice. We did have a bug in our 1.4 version that affected speech recognition, even though it could pic up your microphone just fine. This should now be fixed in the latest version (1.5). If the latest update doesn't resolve this. please send a quick message to support@scenepartner.ai, and I'll make we'll get this issue resolved for you. Thanks! ### 3/5 — Just getting started *2026-08-28* So far the app has been excellent for rehearsing, however recording hasn’t been great. While practicing has no problem when I go to record certain words I say now aren’t recognized and the first word the AI voice says comes out garbled. After that everything seems to get better, one script took over 15 times to get one good take. Tried on iPad and laptop with the same results. I really like the way it works but the overall experience is a bit frustrating. However because of issues I always nail my lines now LOL **Developer response:** Hi there! I really appreciate the feedback. Sorry to hear that the audio was coming out odd and speech recognition was having some issues. Speech recognition in general can be more hit or miss at times for certain voices types. We have some updates coming down the pike to help with this. For the audio being weird at times, there should be a little refresh audio button you can use to regenerate the audio for a line. You can get to this by double tapping a line to open the edit menu. Thanks! ### 5/5 — Outstanding tool. *2026-05-27* This app is tremendous. I’ve been using the web version for about a year with good results but the app is next level. The partners/ readers have really improved since I began with the app. The developers are very helpful updating it and I’ve also gotten personal help when I needed it.
