## What is Scenic SP?

Scenic is an offline scene, shot and lighting planner from Squid Productions. Build a top-down set, block your talent, place cameras and communicate the plan before the shoot.

• Search props, furnishings, doors, windows and lights.
• Plan in feet and inches. Resize rooms and floors independently; group walls and snap openings into place.
• Mark roads, carpets and floor areas with scalable floor tiles. Choose a color or an image that stretches with the tile. Floors stay beneath scene objects, and image bytes travel inside portable project backups.
• Plan camera coverage using lens and sensor size, link cameras to imported Production Desk shots and check coverage.
• Import Production Desk Shot list CSV exports, including descriptions, scene and shot numbers, timing, camera details, notes and script coverage. Reimport matching shots without duplicating them or replacing your map.
• Record movement marks and play scene movement.
• Explore sun direction by location, date and time, plus RGB lights and window curtains.
• Keep multiple productions, browse scenes with previews, and export maps, shot lists and editable .scenic projects.

New productions start with an empty scene. Existing saved and imported projects remain supported.

Your projects stay on your device. No account or subscription is required. Lighting previews are an artistic 2D approximation.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.4.30 — 2026-11-02

Scenic 1.4.30 adds safer shot-list editing, clearer scene annotations and batch exports.

• Delete a shot using right-click or its Actions menu. Imported-shot deletion preserves and unlinks map cameras; camera-only deletion asks for confirmation.
• Review coverage without losing your shot-list scroll position, focus or expanded details.
• Select cameras and actors in doorways more easily.
• Move camera and light information boxes independently, with optional matching-color connector lines.
• Add scalable text and curved arrows from the top toolbar. Edit the arrow’s start, bend and tip; change color, scale and thickness in Properties.
• Find coffee mugs and cups in Props and Couch / sofa in Set.
• Export all scenes as one multipage PDF or separate PNG files with ordered names, progress, cancellation and native destinations.
• Copy selected objects across scenes and duplicate complete environments. iPhone/iPad include Copy items and Paste items controls and attached-keyboard Command+C/V.
• Preserve new scene tools, images, grouping and camera links through Undo/Redo and editable project save/reopen. Includes the numbered-scene CSV import fix.
