I had to block them from emailing me and harassing me after I cancelled because they told me to go ask all my neighbors where my package was for a few dollars worth of fragrance instead of just shipping out another box. So i went in and tried to cancel it again making damn sure i didn’t press skip a month and it did it again. Today I woke up to another charge to my account and when i went in AGAIN to cancel it will only give me a choice to skip a month. This company is a scam. ### 1/5 — Fraudulent outrageous company. *2026-08-15* They will steal from your card on file and refuse refunds. Predatory user experience reactivates subscriptions without consent or receipt or contact info update. Clearly they’re just stealing. I want my $19.96 Scentbird. You stole it from me. **Developer response:** We are so sorry for any confusion and inconvenience that this charge may have caused you! We have an option that allows customers to place one-time purchases, but choosing our monthly subscription option is agreeing to enjoy the perks that come with that and the fact that it renews automatically every month unless you pause or cancel your subscription. If your subscription is still active, please email us at support@scentbird.com and we'll help get it canceled. If your subscription is canceled, we never reactivate it; only you can! Was charged again this month for something I didn’t want. Finally got it cancelled. I don’t recommend this company. ### 3/5 — Possible improvements *2026-08-12, version 3.70* I love my Scentbird subscription and being able to add different fragrances to my queue. I wish there was a way to heart your favorite fragrances and see all of the fragrances you add to the queue. It currently only allows you to see 36 and if I want to rearrange my fragrance and bring a recently added fragrance from the bottom of the queue to the top I can’t. I have to delete some of the choices just to see the recently added fragrance and I don’t want to have to to that.. ### 1/5 — Don’t join/ purchase!! *2026-08-07, version 3.70* The options they offer are cheap perfume and canceling is a mission. Just save yourself from the stress and don’t join/purchase. ### 2/5 — Feels predatory *2026-08-06* I won’t say it’s a scam, but they definitely do what they can to make it difficult to understand your total. It’s not like you create a cart for the month and check out, it makes you pay before you select any fragrance. Then, the fragrance you’re likely interested cost more again. Also, if you’re in Canada it charges in usd. So despite it saying $8 for my first month, I got 2 +$15 fragrances and paid $70 cad. A little surprising. I think they know they’d get less sales if they were up front with pricing so they make it convoluted intentionally. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to share these observations with us! You are correct that although our regular one-time order option does have a cart where you can add items and see a clear total, the subscription doesn't. For subscription orders, you select your scents and add them into what we call your queue. There, a total is not necessarily displayed because the monthly total is fixed and in months when you select a premium scent, then the queue shows exactly how much extra is required. Also, we are using one site for US customers and our neighbors up north in Canada, but we are working on setting up a Canadian website, so the currency variation issue is getting fixed. Thank you once again! ### 1/5 — I wouldn’t recommend Scentbird! *2026-08-04* They advertise a discount, but it’s misleading. You might get around $8 off your first month, but you still end up paying extra for the cologne you choose, which was about another $20 for me. If you want certain fragrances or add-ons, those cost even more. That’s where they really get you. I placed my order in July, and now it’s already August and I still haven’t received it. The tracking has been sitting in the delivery network for what feels like forever. With all the extreme heat lately, I’m honestly worried that some of the cologne could evaporate before it even gets to me. Another thing I didn’t like was how difficult it is to cancel your membership. It feels like they make it as hard as possible because they don’t want you to leave. Every step of the way they keep offering discounts and special deals to try to convince you to keep your subscription instead of just letting you cancel. The biggest issue for me is the value. If it were around $14 a month and that included one cologne with no extra charges, I think it would be worth it. Instead, you’re paying additional fees for a small sample-sized bottle, not a full-sized bottle. Because of the extra costs, the long shipping time, the frustrating cancellation process, and the overall value, I cancelled my subscription. In my opinion, it’s just not worth the money. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for making time to share your experience with us! Your order is also supposed to arrive within 7 to 10 business days, so if you order towards the latter part of July, the delivery can spill into August. If it exceeds 10 business days, however, or it arrives half-filled because you suspect some of the content evaporated in transit, please email us at support@scentbird.com, and we'd be happy to assist. Regarding the pricing, we deliver on our promise of only $8.97 in the first month. We also make clear that while most scents will come for this amount, there are few high-end selections that'll often attract upcharges that reflect their higher quality. Upcharges will normally cost $5 or $10, although they can be as high as $15 or even $20. Every premium scent has a price label on its image notifying of the upcharge to come, and we also present a pop-up window whenever they are selected to alert subscribers of the upcharge, so there's no misunderstanding. These scents that cost more are only a small fraction of our large assortment. We offer add-ons as well, but they are completely optional, and your main subscription doesn't depend on them for anything, so we don't trick you into activating them because we know you need them.
