## What is Schlapp's Recipe Buddy?

The family table, remembered.

Recipe Buddy is a private cookbook and meal diary you share with your family. Collect the recipes you actually cook, capture the meals worth remembering, plan the week ahead, and keep it all in one place — no ads, no clutter.

COLLECT RECIPES THE EASY WAY Snap a cookbook page or handwritten card, paste notes, or drop in a link, and Recipe Buddy tidies the mess into clean ingredients, steps, tags and an estimated calorie count. Photo text is read on your device; turning it into a structured recipe uses a secure cloud helper.

BUILT FOR HOW YOU EAT Tag recipes your own way — Fast 800, Mediterranean, Low Cal, Vegetarian and more — with an estimated calorie count per serving and a calorie-cap filter. Scale any recipe to the number of people at the table.

A KITCHEN-FRIENDLY COOKING MODE Full-screen steps, big readable text, and one-tap timers on the steps that need them. The screen stays awake while you cook.

REMEMBER THE MEALS, NOT JUST THE RECIPES Keep a diary of meals at home and dinners out. Add photos, who was there, and a personal rating of how much you enjoyed it. Photos can fill in the date and place automatically, and a timeline and map show everywhere you've cooked and eaten.

DINING OUT, WORTH RECREATING Log restaurant visits dish by dish with menu and plated photos, then flag the ones you want to make at home and link them to your own recipes.

DRINKS WORTH REMEMBERING Keep a list of wines, beers, ciders and spirits — what to buy for dinner and the favourites worth repeating. Snap a label and the key details fill themselves in.

PLAN THE WEEK, BUILD THE LIST Drop recipes onto a weekly planner, see the calories for each day, and send the ingredients straight to your Apple Reminders shopping list.

SHARE WITH YOUR FAMILY — AND BEYOND One login covers the whole family, and everything is shared automatically between members. Send a single recipe, memory or drink to another family with a code, or push it straight into their "Shared with us" inbox — which they can accept, dismiss, report or block.

KEEP A COPY Export any recipe, memory, dining entry or drink as a polished PDF or Word document, complete with its photos.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads. No third-party tracking or analytics. Your recipes, photos and memories belong to your family.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10 — 2026-07-24

Two big additions this update, plus a fix you asked for:
• Build a dish from your other recipes. Drop a component you've already saved — a sauce, a dressing, a spice mix — straight into a recipe's ingredients, with its own quantity. It shows up as a tappable link you can open, and the amount scales automatically when you change the servings.
• Capture nutrition when you scan. If a recipe you scan prints a nutrition panel — energy, protein, carbohydrate, sugars, fat, saturated fat, salt — Recipe Buddy now reads it in and shows it on the recipe. You can add or adjust the figures yourself too.
• Scanned recipes keep their photos. When you import a recipe from photos, the pages you scanned are saved as the recipe's pictures automatically.
Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming!

### 1.9 — 2026-07-15

Pair the things that belong together:
• New "Pairs well with" on every recipe: link the sauces, sides and drinks that go with a dish — and the wines from your cellar that match it. Add the link on either one and it shows up on both, so you can start from the sauce and find the dishes, or start from the dish and find the perfect bottle.
• Works across food, cocktails and your wine collection, with a quick search picker.
Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming!

### 1.8 — 2026-07-05

Big quality-of-life update, straight from your feedback:

• Print or share a whole recipe book: pick several recipes (sort menu > "Select & export") and get one PDF or Word file, one recipe per page — perfect for printing hard copies.
• Import in bulk: scan a stack of recipe pages and turn each page into its own recipe, or paste several links at once.
• Changing servings now shows proper kitchen amounts (like 2 2/3 tbsp or 335 ml) instead of odd decimals.

Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming!

### 1.6 — 2026-06-26

Smarter imports and a handy fix:

• When you import a recipe, it's now auto-tagged with more meal types (breakfast through dinner) and spots Vegetarian and Vegan dishes — so your Dietary filters fill in as you go. Allergy "-Free" labels stay yours to set, for safety.
• You can now change your own display name any time — tap the pencil on your profile in Family settings. Handy if your name ever came through oddly.

Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming!

### 1.5 — 2026-06-24

Two handy additions this time:
• Dietary labels — mark a recipe Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian or Vegan, then filter to show just those. Great when you're cooking around allergies or preferences.
• Add a link — drop a YouTube how-to (or any web page) onto a recipe, drink or memory and tap to open it. No need to upload videos.
Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming!
