### 2/5 — Works but….

*2026-04-26, version 1.8.0*

This app works but is really barebones. The settings are sparse. The schedule interface is minimalistic. The controls layout is a bit confusing and not very intuitive. The display is absolute basic with no real explanation. It would be great if they added an improved schedule interface, some explanation of what we are looking at, example: is that the outdoor temp, the floor temp or the set temp? Is the floor heat on or off? Why not add a simple “hold” temp button to the homescreen for summer when not in use?

### 2/5 — God awful UI

*2026-02-24, version 1.8.0*

Come on guys this is 2026 there’s no excuse for an app this bad.

### 1/5 — barley an app

*2025-05-24, version 1.6.2*

No features at all. seems like an early beta version. No vacation or off button. Ugly.

### 1/5 — Don't waste your money

*2025-03-04, version 1.6.2*

This app is so lame I can't believe the company allows it to have their name on it no only that it basically does nothing other then a poor job of temp control but it's so not user friendly... how do you make such nice thermostat's and such trash for apps

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-01-26, version 1.6*

The app is useless for controlling the thermostat. No matter how many times I make adjustments to prevent the unit from heating the floor, the app reverts back to a heating schedule that is undesirable. Not a happy customer.

### 1/5 — Very basic functionality, needs to be more reliable

*2025-01-04, version 1.6*

Used this app for many years. No apparent changes or new features since it was first used. Very German design (this is not a compliment).

Very slow to get history (histograms) of energy used. Needs to give the user feedback that something is happening.

Current version locks up or dies (app quits) after a little use. Also, login menu requires a hand entry. Cannot use password app to insert credentials. Would be nice to have Faceid to log in.

App has all the basic features and is a little clumsy when using them. Need to add feature to send monthly or weekly energy used to user relative to outside temperature. Needs better user interface.

### 2/5 — Energy reading not working

*2024-12-04, version 1.6*

The energy consomption graphs have stopped working since November 17th of 2024 and I think schluter does not care

### 1/5 — No way to create an account

*2024-11-27, version 1.6*

To use this app you need to activate your account. But if you follow the instructions on the thermostat it never sends your activation email. I have tried for 9 months to get a reply from customer service but they do not respond.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2024-11-05, version 1.6*

This app reminds me of the first apps that were created for iOS. Clunky, NOT user friendly at all, and certainly not recommended. The very basic functions are outdated and an irritation!

### 1/5 — Actual floor system is great, App is useless

*2024-10-12, version 1.6*

Ok, it’s October 2024 and I just now read all of the reviews, that’s on me. The fact that almost all of the reviews, DITRA-HEAT - Schluter WiFi based apps on any phone are horrible you’d think the company would want or at least try to fix it. The hardware and quality of the actual product are really good…… why are you sabotaging this reputation??? I’ve spoken with my contractor who installed your system (at my recommendation) and he says his company will take this heavily into consideration when customers ask which system to purchase.

### 1/5 — Needs an update

*2024-09-02, version 1.6*

Somehow my thermostat comes on only on Mondays. I didn’t program it it that way. When I try to change the schedule and save, the app shuts down. When I try to change temp manually, the temp of the floor actually goes higher. It does not save the new manual temp. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Really doesn’t work, not user friendly…

*2024-08-18, version 1.6*

I’ve had our heated floors operating for about 8 months now. This app has some sort of glitch where I cannot turn off Sunday’s schedule. It’s heating my floors to 82 degrees in the middle of August. When I try to turn it off on the app by sliding the off button and then pressing save, it kicks me out of the app. No improvements have been made on this app in one year. Had I known how bad the app was, I never would have installed the heated floors.

### 1/5 — Add Away Mode

*2024-08-11, version 1.6*

Add away mode on app. Website has this away mode feature but app does not. Very strange why app would not have this because it’s such a great feature.

### 1/5 — Can’t save adjustments

*2024-05-28, version 1.6*

After meticulously creating a schedule on the last version of the app, the save button has been moved in the newer version. This makes it impossible to save changes as the save button is now too close to the bottom of my iPhone and when I try to tap it it exits the screen without saving. Such a pain, and unfortunate that it wasn’t caught in testing. The floor is great the app is not.

### 2/5 — Stick to hardware, not software

*2024-04-30, version 1.6*

Dear Schluter, your standalone app controls my ditra mats. This would be commendable, if it was 2010. Create an integration, Alexa skill, HomeKit, Google Home, matter, API, etc and let your interface be managed by a team that keeps up. Those of us that invest in products like yours have likely invested in smart homes. Dont turn into Blockbuster. You’re a billion dollar company with great products. You can do a lot better.

### 2/5 — Would love to see some improvements

*2024-02-22, version 1.6*

We bought the WiFi thermostats for our floor heat so we could easily control them when away. The app allows you to group multiple thermostats into a Home. Which is great except you can’t control the group as one. That would seem to be optimal. The website interface has more functionality than the app. Please add the ability to control thermostats in a group as one and allow a simple vacation/away time. Also, when setting a hold for multiple days I would like to be able to set the end time not just midnight on the day I select. Please make these improvements.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible reliability and UI

*2026-04-12, version 1.8.0*

I don’t say this lately, but this is the worst app I have ever seen. This is for a very expensive thermostat, but the backend seems to not work reliably in the few days that I’ve had it. And the UI is straight out of an anti-patterns class. This could be vibe coded 100 times better in 30 minutes.

### 1/5 — This app sucks

*2026-04-12, version 1.8.0*

It is never in sync with my device. I often can’t even get signed in. It is glitchy. It is not intuitive. It has me in the wrong time zone even though I have the correct ZIP Code entered in, and there’s no way to fix it. Go with a different brand!

### 1/5 — Worst App Ever!

*2026-02-26, version 1.8.0*

The smart WiFi app is extremely slow to link, lacks the intuitiveness of 2026 Apps and fails at being user friendly. Not worth the up front cost for the product or the back end cost for the hours it takes to set it up.
Especially as Schluter has 2 APPS for different thermostats both for floor heating. Had I known- I would have saved my money and time.

### 1/5 — Needs Work

*2026-01-12, version 1.8.0*

Hardly shows any information viewable on the physical thermostat.
You can’t charge thermostat name, thermostat group name, zip code for weather.
Doesn’t show power meter info.

Needs a QR code on thermostat to register instead of manually typing on screen.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2025-11-24, version 1.8.0*

Can’t log in. Useless app. Poor customer service, nobody picks up the phone.

### 1/5 — horrible

*2025-11-24, version 1.8.0*

waste of time and money

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-11-23, version 1.8.0*

For the price I paid for the floor systems and the thermostat with WiFi, I would have expected a best in class application. Instead, all I got was a horrible app that does not work. If you can ever log into the app, the user interface is circa late 1990s in design and functionality.
I would have expected so much better from a German company. Buyer beware.

### 1/5 — It’s not even working

*2025-11-23, version 1.8.0*

First time went on vacation and tried to turn off my heating from another country: doesn’t work because it can’t login. I wish I knew it doesn’t work before I installed Schluter system. Buyer beware!

### 1/5 — Update

*2025-11-22, version 1.8.0*

This app was basically useless from the start. We could finally get it to hobble along, but today the app just quit working. shame on you Schluter! For the cost of your floors, you would think you could spend a few dollars and update your app.

### 1/5 — Could Not Be Worse!

*2025-06-24, version 1.6.2*

This is without a doubt one of the worst apps we have ever attempted to use. Absolutely the most infuriating interface out there! Why a company with such a good reputation would put something like this out there is beyond reason. Login requires a password but there is no way to retrieve or reset it. The thermostat controller offers no assistance. Complete waste!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This one works for me

*2025-11-09, version 1.8.0*

I tried the other Schluter Smart Thermostat App and it wouldn’t recognize my account. This one works fine.

### 5/5 — Simple and we love it

*2024-06-15, version 1.6*

We installed Ditra system 3 years ago and we love it. Set up our schedule and always have a warm floor. I found it simple to set up and utilize.

### 5/5 — Works perfect

*2024-02-12, version 1.6*

Not sure why everyone is so down on this. It works perfectly fine for me. I installed 2 different bathrooms. No issues at all. Super easy install and account setup. Easy WiFi connection. Interface is very standard and intuitive. So far love this app. 👍

### 5/5 — Love my DITRA-HEAT and it’s App!!

*2020-12-19, version 1.0.1*

I’ve had my DITRA-HEAT installed floor and wifi thermostat for just over a year now. It has worked flawlessly since day one. On my initial attempt to connect it to my wifi router, it connected but then shortly dropped out. I connected it and haven’t had a single issue since! The only thing I think this product is missing is integration into Apple/Google Home apps

### 5/5 — Works as intended

*2019-11-17*

I was hoping for an app when I bought the wifi thermostat and was disappointed when I had to use a web app to change temperature. Well I never did instead the schedule worked great for me. I was hoping for schluter to announce the app but I just randomly went to App Store to check and yay there was one. I had no problems signing in and the UI is just a replica of what’s on the thermostat so it’s simple to use.

I would love if there are advanced features on the app. But love this one too.. pretty neat and handy.

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2018-10-30, version 1.0*

No issues after 2 months of use.

### 4/5 — Actually the worst.

*2026-01-20, version 1.8.0*

This app is atrocious. Really. I’d recommend a different one, but this is the only one you can use with your very expensive floor heating system. I cannot for the life of myself access my devices, the web portal is tragically broken, and there is no documentation anywhere. It looks like it would work ok if you had no trouble along the way, but that is not reasonable. Have a great day, and don’t even try downloading this app.

### 4/5 — Kinda poor

*2024-12-02, version 1.6*

First off, it just doesn’t update the time. So all the scheduling is worthless. Second of all at this point you should be able to use iOS’s facility for creating passwords.

### 4/5 — Works for me!

*2019-10-22*

Syncing and creating an account certainly could be easier. I have three thermostats set up and I travel for a living. I have always been able to connect while traveling home and have always had nice warm floors ready for me when I return. It isn’t a perfect or super polished app but it works well for me.

### 4/5 — Creating an account

*2019-08-01*

When you turn on the power to your Schluter floor heat for the first time (or after a reset) you are walked through the initial set up. First you’ll connect the stat to your WiFi network. Then you’ll be asked to enter an email address to use for your account. Schluter will send an email to that address with instructions for setting up your account. This is a separate login from your Schluter’s product site account (I don’t know if both can have the same email). Once the account is set up you then use your new credentials to log in to the Schluter DITRA-HEAT app.

I hope this review is helpful.

Cheers
