What's New in SCHMECKT.
1.3.2
October 14, 2026
Our first update since June – and the home screen used the break for a complete makeover. A home screen that knows you: at the top you now get big cards with the Product of the Day, three "For You" picks and something new from a brand you're into. Below them, shelves that are yours alone: "Recently Viewed" with its own history (Today, This Week, Earlier), a shelf for your strongest characteristic (keep landing on fruity and you get fruity), "More from" the brand you last enjoyed, and "Still to Rate" for everything you've tried but not scored yet. And at the very bottom waits Retaste: your current month, every year as its own tile, and your all-time favorites. A year in review, minus the wait for December. Recommendations that count honestly: which flavors get suggested to you now comes only from what you actually enjoyed. A spot on your wishlist is a plan, not a verdict, so it no longer counts toward them. Until you've liked at least three flavors, the app doesn't claim to know your taste – you get suggestions without a "because you like …". And the Product of the Day skips what you've already tried. No more brand question: onboarding used to ask which brands you're into – before you could possibly know them. That page is gone. SCHMECKT. now picks up which brands interest you from what you view, wishlist and rate. A brand just isn't for you? Ignore it under Profile and it won't be suggested anymore. It doesn't vanish: in "Discover", under "New", in Charts and after a scan it stays findable. "New" and Charts show everyone the same thing anyway. New questions: tolerance and handling now come with every flavor, mixability wherever it makes sense – nobody asks a bar whether it clumps. They count toward the 0 to 10 score, so an old value can shift. For flavors you've already rated, fill in the answers at your own pace. For everyone who uses their iPhone differently: VoiceOver now announces states, symbols and collection cards instead of symbol names, in the app's own language. Small buttons get a tap area of at least 44 points. With Reduce Motion on, the app cross-fades instead of flying and spinning. Small things, real effect: search finds "Crème Brûlée" even when you type "creme brulee". If saving goes wrong, the app now tells you instead of quietly faking success. Characteristics like "vegan" come curated from the catalog – some flavors show one chip less, but every one is right. Photos load more smoothly. And Profile now explains what happens to changes not yet uploaded when you sign out of iCloud; after a reset, the app lets you know.
