My husband gave me this class for Christmas to help me learn to weave on a LeClerc Artist that I purchased used about a year ago. After only two lessons (various videos), I learned a completely different way to wind a warp and dress my loom. The app, though, needs speed control. Sometimes 45 minutes of watching someone throw a shuttle back and forth gets tedious, but you don’t want to miss Jane’s occasional pearls of wisdom. I rewatched and followed followed closely as I honed the basics and now its inspiration all the way. I’ve woven up many, and by no means all, class projects. There is something here for, may I say, everyone. Jane is a natural with the camera and a born teacher. Everything is fun on Jane’s island. Her guest teachers are fun and bring other inspirations. Yards and yards of weaving is where I am learning and applying the lessons. You can tell someone how to do something, but the real learning is in the practice. The structure of the lessons, which include Jane weaving, not only promotes practice but provides an opportunity to see someone practice. It has been a great ride. jane Stafford is an engaging teacher with excellent teaching skills. Each class is well designed. Topics are interesting. Can’t wait until SOW season 10 starts! Especially looking forward to canalè, dimity, diversified plain weave. Also looking forward to twisted wrap episode - which I have really admired.. Advice to anyone sitting on the fence - take the risk. It is fun and informative. Give it a try. In my area 1 class costs double to quadruple the cost of one season.
