Cloud storages have evolved into an indispensible part of university life. At the same time, data from research, teaching and study require high protection. Therefore, sciebo – the cloud storage provided by universities in NRW – is an important alternative to commercial services.

* High Data Protection
With sites that are located in NRW only, sciebo is subject to the strict German directives on data protection. University operators guarantee that there is no commercial interest in the data on supply side.
Large Storage Volume
With 30 GB of free storage for each user, sciebo is the jumbo of all cloud services. Moreover, employees can unlock a maximum quota of 500 GB on their own and apply for additional storage space for work in project groups.

* Worldwide Access
Using the sciebo client, you can synchronize your documents on all your devices and, thereby, always have access to the latest versions. Via the web interface your files are accessible worldwide as well.

Die App funktioniert nicht mehr. Man kann sich leider nicht mehr einloggen und nur noch offline verwenden. Somit nicht mehr brauchbar. Schade! Bitte fixen!

Abgesehen davon, dass die App schon immer sehr fehleranfällig war, funktioniert sie nun auch nicht mehr mit den Sciebo-Servern, die auf NextCloud (statt vorher ownCloud) umgestellt haben, z.B. die der FH Münster.

Ich kann von meinem iPhone keine Fotos aus der Gallerie hochladen, obwohl die App vollen Zugriff hat. Eine Neuinstallation hat nicht geholfen.

Word- und Excel-Dateien können seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr in der App geöffnet werden. Das ist geradezu lächerlich schlecht. Die App ist auf iOS-Geräten somit weitgehend unbrauchbar.

Vor IOS 18 hat diese App unfassbar gut funktioniert, vor allem die Integration in Apples Dateisystem war genial! 
Leider funktioniert dieses seit neuestem nicht mehr und überhaupt ist es nicht einmal mehr möglich über die Teilen Funktion etwas in Sciebo zu speichern. Sehr schade, da es die Cloud für mich fast unbrauchbar macht.

Die App stürzt bei mir seit mittlerweile Jahren dauerhaft ab. Ich weiß gar nicht wieso ich sie so lange behalten habe. Ich würde gerne mehr Sterne vergeben. Die grundsätzliche Funktionalität ist ok wenn man von den dauerhaften Abstürzen absieht, von daher 2 statt 1 Stern. Wechsel jetzt auch auf owncloud
