If the app doesn’t recognize your subscription, you may have to sign into the website (not sure if it has to be on the same device as the app or not, I happened to) and view/download a pdf of any issue then the app may begin to work. The app could use a bookmark feature or something to save my place. If I stop reading for a couple days or a week the app closes the issue I’m in and I have to find my place again. **Developer response:** Thank you for the positive review and the feedback! Subscriptions should be automatic and work seamlessly, unless you purchased your subscription somewhere other than in the app or website (via direct mail or over the phone, for instance). In that case, you will need to sign into the website to activate your digital subscription, but that should be something you only have to do once. Please report future issues at feedback@sciencenews.org and let us know if you have any ideas for how we can improve the app. ### 1/5 — Latest update still doesn’t allow articles to be read *2026-01-23* The latest update fixed the problem that it was impossible to open an article owing to the fact that clicking on an article thumbnail caused an instant jump back to the Apple Operating system. However, in this update, the article seems to open, but only the title, lead graphic (and caption), author, and date are visible. The article itself is not viewable.
