Whilst you can view all the tutorials and magazines in a web browser, using this app is pure heaven, particularly the ability to download any of it to watch offline. I so look forward to each Tuesday and Friday when new tutorials are published. That's where ScreenCastsOnline comes in. They read all the this-week-in-MacOS literature and cull the keepers. These they then present in very effective (and entertaining) tutorials that quickly tell you if the topic is of interest to your particular brand of Mac activity. I taught MacOS and iOS for years and can vouch for the level of instruction SCO offers. There is a ton of information here, aimed squarely at the sophisticated Mac user in an attractive format. In addition, the tutorials always teach me something new about software I currently use. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 3/5 — Streaming unreliable on cellular *2019-10-08, version 2.3* I’m unable to stream reliably at higher speeds (1.5 or 2x) on cellular/personal hotspot. The video feed keeps pausing and I need to close the video and open it again every ~5 seconds. If I stream at 1x speed I don’t get this problem. Living in China behind the Great Firewall, it was difficult to keep up as software and equipment evolved. Don was Terrific. Over the years and after returning to the US, maintaining a subscription and grabbing updates when I had time, I missed so many new programs and opportunities as the team and the products grew from just Mac with iPad, iPhone watch and other equipment. I did keep up and saved money with my favorite apps as the team steadily updates with new releases. Since retiring, I try to spend a quiet time almost daily to keep up with with Lee taking the lead with all the crew and choose among the almost endless list of possibilities and new features in the operating systems, software options and of course new toys when I can afford or justify upgrading to new things. I believe that without this group’s straight forward tutelage I probably wouldn’t enjoy nearly the value in daily living with digital tools to assist me in my retirement and retirement year’s gigs. Initially, I was switching from a Microsoft operating system to the MAC. The tutorials helped ease the learning curve. Then with iPhone and the updates Apple would push out- adding new features constantly - SCO tutorials allowed me to take my time to view and master the possibilities. When Apple updates the MAC OS, I again look to SCO for help - specifically if updating will break an older app that I depend upon.
