## What is Scollr?

Scollr is a personalized feed for discovering research papers from journals, preprint servers, and academic repositories.

Follow the topics, authors, and journals that matter to you. Scollr learns from the signals you give it - what you follow, save, and read - to build a research feed that fits your interests.

PERSONALIZED RESEARCH FEED
See papers shaped by your topics, authors, journals, bookmarks, and reading signals. Two researchers in the same field can get meaningfully different feeds based on what they care about.

FOLLOW TOPICS, AUTHORS, AND JOURNALS
Track broad fields, niche topics, specific researchers, journals, and preprint sources. Refine your follows anytime as your projects change.

PLAIN-LANGUAGE PAPER SUMMARIES
Many papers include short TLDR summaries so you can quickly decide what deserves a deeper read.

SAVE PAPERS TO COLLECTIONS
Organize papers by project, theme, class, lab meeting, or read-later list. Keep collections private or share them publicly.

DISCUSS RESEARCH
Comment on papers, ask questions, and point other readers to related work.

FOLLOWING, DISCOVER, AND LATEST
Use Following for personalized papers, Discover for broader recommendations, and Latest for new arrivals in your fields.

BUILT FOR SCHOLARS AND CURIOUS READERS
Scollr is for PhD students, researchers, clinicians, engineers, students, and anyone who wants a better way to keep up with academic papers.

Scollr indexes millions of papers from OpenAlex across disciplines, journals, preprints, and repositories. New papers are added daily.

Free to use. No paywall. No ads.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-06-25

Improvements to help us keep making Scollr better for you

### 1.0.6 — 2026-06-01

Scollr 1.0.6 adds new ways to bring your existing research workflow into Scollr.

You can now add missing papers by DOI from Search or directly inside a collection. Paste a DOI, DOI link, or DOI-prefixed value, and Scollr will check your library before resolving the paper.

This release also adds DOI-backed reference import for Zotero and other library exports, including BibTeX, RIS, CSV, CSL JSON, and DOI lists. Import previews show detected groups, DOI counts, duplicates, unresolved items, and background resolution progress.

Collections now work better as active research spaces: add known papers, import existing reference sets, and keep track of collection updates from one place.

Also included: iPhone and iPad workflow polish, improved paper detail and collection interactions, smoother keyboard behavior, and broader native iOS verification.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-05-25

- Introducing Research Maps: explore connected papers, references, citing work, and related research from a paper or collection.
  - Added Watch This Area for keeping track of new papers around a research direction.
  - Improved paper-to-map navigation, including smoother back navigation.
  - Added refinements for discovery, saving, and collection workflows.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-05-20

Scollr has a redesigned reading experience built to make research discovery faster, calmer, and easier to organize.

  This update includes:

  - A refreshed interface across the feed, paper detail, saved papers, and collections
  - New paper signals so you can mark papers as significant, useful for their method, or worth closer scrutiny
  - Save reasons that help you remember why a paper mattered
  - Better saved-library organization with search, filters, sorting, and reason chips
  - Similar-paper suggestions for collections, helping you expand a research thread from papers you already saved
  - Improved notification and discovery plumbing for more relevant paper recommendations
  - Performance and stability improvements across the app

### 1.0.3 — 2026-05-07

Improved Google sign-in on mobile Safari and made paper navigation feel more deliberate while keeping swipe-back gestures. Also includes feed responsiveness, notification quality, feedback entry, and reliability fixes.
