I had 8:30am meeting so I scheduled pickup as late as 730am. Then my driver casually texts me at 715am, asking if we can go at 8am. I replied him back I cant, and called him but he doesnt answer. I had to cancel the ride and get on bus last minute. If I had known he couldnt make it, I should have left by 7am to make 830am meeting. There is no system that makes drivers more reliable yet. If the rider doesnt show up, driver can just leave. But if the driver doesnt show up, riders are dependent on them and changing last minute in the morning and ghosting is not acceptable. Especially when the app is targeted to workers that have meetings they need to make. I have never given a negative app review in my life before but had to come here to generate some noise. I’d love to update/delete this if you can fix the basic buttons to actually book a ride because that’s literally what the app is for! ### 1/5 — View car pool button is not working. A no op. ### 1/5 — Unresponsive UI in IPhone *2023-03-13, version 2.34.0* The Algorithm to match rides works great, but 90% of the time, the buttons to view the matched rides, scheduling a ride or canceling don’t work. I have to close the app and reload multiple times just to make a button work. It’s unpredictable when it works, and I have to wait until the view button works just to see the ride details. The app gets stuck most of times and doesn’t even respond to any gestures. The Cashout button doesn’t work either. Doesn’t provide feedback if there is any chance of matching , and worst of all, tell about no matches at literally the nth hour . Then the rider cancelled scheduled trip at last minute. Surprisingly I was charged…instead of being reimbursed. Apparently someone was abusing the policy. What was more disappointing is that there is no customer service to resolve it… They don’t have service line to call in and never respond to the request. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t show the Driver realtime location *2025-04-08, version 3.3.0* The app went backwards. It doesn’t show the driver location while coming for pickup resulting in confusion and cancellations. ### 1/5 — Not Available *2025-01-19, version 3.2.0* I live in a major metropolitan area and the app says it’s not available in my area. You must need to live in a much larger city like LA or Chicago for this to work. ### 1/5 — No support at all - DO NOT EXPECT HELP! *2024-08-23, version 3.0.1* I recently started Scoop and it had generally been okay, except today when I had a cancellation. The carpooler mistakenly reported me as cancelled instead of the other way around. There is no way for me to contest this in the app, and upon reaching out to support to get it corrected, the ticket was IMMEDIATELY "resolved" with no response at all. I also reached out through text and same thing. If you have any issues do NOT think that they will be useful as this experience has been incredibly poor. ### 1/5 — Good app. Horrible horrible customer service. *2024-08-19, version 3.0.1* App works well. But once I tired cancelling my ride. It said I have 1 complimentary cancellation a month. And said it won’t charge. Super easy way to commute to work with other trusted employees. I made enough money each way as a driver to offset my daily driving costs. And riding was affordable. Way cheaper than uber/lyft. More reliable than Casual Carpool plus it covers the cost of gas and bridge toll (and then some...). I’ve been a writer in the past and that was also very smooth and pleasant.
