It’s annoying to use ### 2/5 — Overpriced for Inflexibility *2025-07-28, version 1.30* This review is for the Burlington Scooty. You can only go along a predesignated path. At $.35 a minute you think you are being charged about $20 an hour. But there is also an unlocking fee and tax. Ended up paying almost 5 dollars for a five minute ride to go to breakfast one morning. Overpriced and not worth it. Will not use again. Also, when we got to our destination right beside the restaurant, the pad was full, so it said we had to drop them off somewhere else. Like, what!? The whole purpose was to get to a certain point on the path. We ended up squeezing our scooters onto the black mat just to end the ride. Frustrating. ### 1/5 — Parking space issue *2025-06-11, version 1.30* Parking spaces are hardly visible in the map. And if we park wrong they charge extra penalty Everytime. They are just doing business. ### 1/5 — Misleading app design *2025-05-07, version 1.30* App asked to add money into the wallet before starting the ride, but later I realized payment was made directly from my Visa instead. After looking into the settings, I found out that you have to manually select an option to take payment from wallet. If this is the design, then why does the app highlight the need to add money to the wallet in the first place?!? Sure the rides are good but they are over charging u and the balance can’t be refunded into ur account plus there is no way to delete ur card from the app and the customer service is terrible! I reached out to them twice and no one got back to me I would like my cards removed now because u guy over charged me, i will go to my bank and report this as a scam tomorrow! However I rather use the other scooters in my area those are better and the app is easier to work with. ### 1/5 — SCAM !! The worst scooter app *2024-09-01, version 1.27* This app is incredibly frustrating to use. One major issue is that it requires you to maintain a minimum credited balance of $10 in your account. This means that every time you want to use the app, you have to make sure that there's enough money on your card. However, the most frustrating part is that even if you decide to stop using the app, they refuse to refund the balance that remains in your account. So, you're essentially stuck with money you can't use anywhere else, even though you've decided you no longer want to use the app. This practice feels unfair and leaves a bad impression, especially since there's no clear or easy way to get your money back. ### 3/5 — First ride on a Scooty *2024-07-23, version 1.27* It was a bit rough. When i reported this to them they answered one email until i asked for my money back and then they started ignoring me. i sent 4/5 emails asking for a reply and nobody ever got back to me. been weeks almost a month now. rides are also expensive especially if you only have a short distance to go, and it requires you to load a minimum of $10 to your account before using any scooter. wouldn’t try emailing them if you have problems as they’ll just ignore you 🤦🏽‍♀️ ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Burlington downtown *2026-06-21, version 1.33* From Burlington Guelph Line along the bicycle path to downtown and dropped off on Martha St. For me and my wife this costs $23!!! One way! The Uber back home was $11. How can this pricing on SCOOTY be sustainable? Uppon unlocking the scooter i had realised my bus had arrived and decide to use that instead, cancelling the ride in 42 seconds. I was charged 3..96 on the app for that 42 seconds of standing next to the bike and not using it in any way. Upon checking my card i realised i had actually been charged 5 dollars instead of the 3.96 amount. Do not use this app.Ever. ### 1/5 — Scammers *2025-08-08, version 1.30* These guys don’t care if their app is working or not. Everything which went wrong is customer’s mistake. Don’t download or use, they have no refund policy even when you provide enough evidence. They even blocked me from Instagram when I posted a comment about their service on a post. ### 1/5 — Unreliable Service and No Accountability *2025-08-03, version 1.30* The scooter didn’t work after unlocking, and they don’t offer refunds in such cases. How are we supposed to know if a scooter is functional before unlocking it? Very disappointing — I won’t be using SCOOTY again. ### 1/5 — Extra charge *2025-07-21, version 1.30* So I installed the app and before using the bike, the app asked to make a deposit of 10$. So I did. I grabbed the bike, went for a ride with my wife, beautiful sunny day. Till here everything went smooth. Now, the time to park was a different story, parked the bike, I was charged 18$, everything ok, but the for my surprise the 10$ that I deposited in the wallets app was not used, is just sitting there, now I tried to get help from the app, I get the answer that they make no refunds, the app gives me an email to contact to report the problem, so I did, the moment I sent the email it, apparently, that email does not exist, so instead of losing just 18$ that it was the price of the ride, I lost 28 instead because the app dint charge the money from the wallet and I can’t contact the support. So no.
