### 2/5 — Keeps forgetting my scope sites

*2026-05-18, version 2.6.0*

The app is nice to identify the sky conditions and I like how it's presented more than others for a quick glance. But it keeps forgetting my favorites in the scope sites.

### 3/5 — Add the ability to search a map/ lat-long

*2026-04-15, version 2.6.0*

I could not find the ability to add a location that is not in the included location list. The ability to search via pin on a map or entering lat/longitude would be helpful.
Best,
Mark

### 2/5 — Useless about half the time

*2026-03-23, version 2.6.0*

Okay when it works, which is NOT very often. Gives me notice that there’s good visibility tonight. It’s 98% overcast with no clear skies forecast for days…

### 2/5 — Missed opportunity

*2026-01-08, version 2.6.0*

Improvements made to the last update but apparently darkness doesn’t start until midnight?! What about the 6 hours prior to that? (In winter)

Emailed the developer a month ago but got no reply

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2025-08-06, version 2.5.1*

Very accurate for my location.

### 2/5 — Poor weather forecast

*2024-09-16, version 2.5.1*

I’ve used this for 3 years and it’s been pretty accurate but since the last update the forecasts have been wrong, shame as this was my got to app for forecasts.

### 2/5 — Forecast errors getting worse

*2024-09-10*

When I first got the app about a year ago, the app complained about no global forecast. It did, however, show a five day. Now often there is just a blank screen where the forecast should appear. Very disappointing because the idea of this app is awesome.
It doesn’t seem to be getting updated any time soon.

### 5/5 — Superb

*2024-09-01, version 2.5.1*

Quick, accurate, easy to use. A constant companion.

### 4/5 — More accurate for stargazing than any Weather app

*2024-07-18, version 2.5.1*

Keeps telling me that it cannot get data, but it manages to get it regardless wish that bug could be squashed otherwise it’s brilliant

### 1/5 — Doesn’t scale to iPad Pro

*2024-03-02, version 2.5.1*

Doesn’t work on the iPad Pro - the stuff at the bottom of the screen is truncated. I normally wouldn’t have given a one star review for this but I can see someone else saying exactly the same thing three years ago. Not fixing it in a five quid app for three years is unforgivable. Gonna request a refund.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless about half the time. Incorrect the other half.

*2026-08-21, version 2.6.0*

Okay when it works, which is NOT very often. How in the world is 68% cloud cover “fair”???

Doesn’t seem to refresh at all. No apparent correlation between what it says and local weather.

GUI is inconsistent and confusing at times.

Gives me notice that there’s good visibility tonight. It’s 98% overcast with no clear skies forecast for days…

### 1/5 — Rubbish and does not work

*2026-02-05, version 2.6.0*

inaccurate, reports POOR conditions for local area set in the app, go outside and the stars are out, perfect night for using telescope, waste of time

### 1/5 — Save your Money

*2025-09-18, version 2.5.1*

How about an update? This app hasn't been updated in over 6 years. Also get error messages for all my saved locations every time the app opens or when I change sites. If your charging $5 for an app support it or take it off the App Store.

### 1/5 — Not supported anymore?

*2025-08-02, version 2.5.1*

Used to be a great app, now over half of my sites are just a blank screen. Tried removing, adding them back - still the same.

### 1/5 — Was good.

*2025-06-20, version 2.5.1*

Used to work ok, but now doesn’t load, 🙁

### 1/5 — App getting worse and worse

*2025-06-20, version 2.5.1*

No longer supported by the looks of it

### 1/5 — No Forecast…

*2025-04-07, version 2.5.1*

For years now it’s been saying no forecast available over multiple windows but still giving them, but suddenly now it’s switched off! Is this a countdown to aliens?!

### 1/5 — Great basic app. If only it had Canadian Astronomy weather reports...

*2024-08-11, version 2.5.1*

Solid app. Great for the vast majority (US-UK). Hoping the developer gets around to us Canucks sometime.
Really can’t provide data?
And mebbe explains why the Dark Sky option costs 6.99? Ouch...

### 1/5 — Would be great if it worked well

*2024-08-07, version 2.5.1*

The app tells you decently accurate cloud coverage and all that. But consistently state that weather information is unavailable.

### 1/5 — Save your Money

*2024-03-31, version 2.5.1*

Bought this app on a friends recommendation. This app hasn't been updated in over a year. Also get error messages for all my saved locations every time the app opens or when I change sites. If your charging $5 for an app support it or take it off the App Store. So other people don't waste their money.

### 5/5 — Scope Nights

*2026-04-13, version 2.6.0*

I have used this app for years and was very sad when it stopped working. But the developer has managed to get it working again! This is by far the best app I have used to plan for astrophotography. Thanks for making this app!

### 5/5 — Best astronomy app

*2026-03-04, version 2.6.0*

This app is superb to plan the clear nights when you can get out your telescope. Packed with info about sunset, moonrise, moon phase, weather, viewing conditions, light pollution map and loads more. If you have a telescope or astronomical binoculars then you need this app.

### 5/5 — Great app and really grateful for the update

*2026-01-10, version 2.6.0*

The update is great but I had a fair number of sites and now get the message that I have reached the maximum of seven sites. Not a huge problem but the message is fairly persistent. I usually record places I’ve been so I can see at a glance what the sites are like, Is there a reason for the limit and if not then could that be relaxed?

### 5/5 — Forecast errors fixed!!

*2025-12-20, version 2.6.0*

Now that it is fixed, this is an awesome app for astronomy forecast.

### 5/5 — November update is great

*2025-12-14, version 2.6.0*

I’ve been using this since it was first reviewed in a national over 10 years ago. It had some hiccups over the past few years, but this update makes it great again. The goto app for stargazing weather.

### 5/5 — The best astro weather app is back!

*2025-12-03, version 2.6.0*

By far, still after many years, the best astro weather app is this one, and it's so good the dev brought it back to life! Thanks so much, no other app is needed!

### 5/5 — New version is excellent

*2025-11-24, version 2.6.0*

I have been using the app for a number of years and the latest version optimised for IOS26 is a stunner. Still really accurate it now does shorter period forecasts throughout the night. Definitely the best weather app to plan your astronomy outings with.

### 5/5 — Must have app!

*2025-11-21, version 2.6.0*

This app is excellent for planning viewing sessions. Recently updated to work with iOS26 and now works flawlessly again. So accurate and simply a must to plan your viewing sessions

### 5/5 — Loving the latest update.

*2025-11-20, version 2.6.0*

Scope Nights is my goto app for planning observing sessions for the coming week. The new hourly breakdowns to the forecast are super helpful. I also love how the app provides an easy way to customise what conditions I consider acceptable for observing.
Thanks for the fantastic app.
