## What is ScorDial?

ScorDial is the fast way to create, annotate and organize the music you actually play. Chord charts, scores and setlists — all in one place, built for rehearsals, gigs and teaching.

CREATE CHARTS IN SECONDS
Write chord charts with sections, repeats, codas and segno marks. Set the key, time signature and tempo. Transpose any chart to any key instantly — the original stays safe.

REAL MUSIC NOTATION
Insert staves anywhere in a chart and enter notes with the built-in piano keyboard. Sketch melodic lines, voicings and cues exactly where you need them.

ANNOTATE EVERYTHING
Draw freely with pen tools, highlight, add text labels and musical symbols — on your own charts and on imported PDFs. Your markings stay anchored to the music, on any device and any screen size.

YOUR SETLISTS, READY FOR THE GIG
Combine charts, scores and PDFs into setlists. Reorder with a drag, jump between songs instantly, and read in night mode on dark stages. Fit-to-page keeps everything readable at a glance.

BRING YOUR LIBRARY
Import PDFs and MusicXML files. Organize everything with categories, stars and search. Record ideas right inside the app.

WORKS EVERYWHERE, OWNED FOREVER
ScorDial is fully offline — no account, no sign-up, no subscription. Pay once, own it. Your files are yours: share and transfer them between iPhone, iPad and Android, and your charts, notes and annotations arrive intact.

Built by a working musician, composer and conductor — for the way musicians really prepare and perform.

Download ScorDial and get your book in order before the next rehearsal.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-09-23

- Chord rests and spaces: type S for an empty chord slot, or 2, 4, 8, 16 for half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth rests
   - add a dot (4.) for dotted rests
  - Chord duration values: prefix a chord to show a small note above it - 4D7 shows D7 with a quarter note, 16Bb9 with a
   sixteenth, 4.D7 for dotted
  - Merge Bar now works in both directions: merge a row's last bar down into the next row, including across section
  boundaries
  - Short rows keep their bars in quarter-width slots instead of stretching to full width
  - Note keyboard: the Connect button now stays pressed to beam a run of 8th and 16th notes, and a new Space key moves
  ahead without adding a note
  - Deleting a note now closes its slot, and the bin also clears added spaces
  - Drummer's metronome shortcut right next to the song title - available in full-page view too
  - Minor chords: the minus sign now sits centered on the chord letter
  - Smoother and faster response throughout the app
  - Fixed section labels wrapping onto chords in narrow bars

### 1.3.4 — 2026-09-20

• Merge Bar now works both ways: tap the first bar of a row to
merge it up, or the last bar to push it down onto the next row.
• Tap the same bar again to undo.

### 1.3.3 — 2026-09-16

- Full-screen by default: charts and scores open edge-to-edge with no buttons in the way. Tap the page to bring the
menus back, and a Setlist button appears when the song is part of a setlist.
  - Shared files open straight in ScorDial: tapping a .scordial file in Files, WhatsApp, Drive or Mail now opens the
chart directly. No more screens full of code, just the song.
  - Better on iPhone: chord charts automatically re-flow to fit the phone screen for comfortable reading.
  - Setlist upgrades: the panel stays open while you switch songs, reordering is reliable, and the search bar is bigger.
  - Save button: stamp all your chart edits instantly so every share and export carries your latest changes.
  - Plus smoother bar merging, undo/redo for text moves, and key spelling improvements (F#/Gb).

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-09

Chord annotations on PDF pages now transfer between devices with the score.

Chords scale to the page, so they look right on any screen size.

Added a resize control in the chord editor.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-05

⏺ What's New for 1.3.0 — the new features of 1.2.9 and chord-box fixes:

  GUITAR TABLATURE
  • Switch any stave to TAB from the clef menu — 6 string lines, fret numbers and rhythm stems
  • Double-tap a note to cycle alternative fret positions for the same pitch
  • Tab follows your key changes and transpositions
  • String lines break neatly around fret numbers, and fingering stays razor sharp at any zoom
  • Chord Grids: fret diagrams above the chords in your charts — one tap on the Grids chip

  DRUMS
  • New Drums clef with full drum-kit notation — pads for every kit piece, real drum sounds
  • Drummer's metronome: pick any meter, tap the big pad to set the tempo, perfectly even click
  • Eighth-note meters play at their true speed — 5/8 clicks twice as fast as 5/4
  • The beat indicator now tracks every click exactly, in every format

  CHORDS ON ANY SCORE
  • Drop chord symbols right onto PDFs, images, scans and canvas pages
  • Resize them comfortably — pinch the chord, or use the − / + right in the keyboard bar
  • New chords keep the size you set; each one shows exactly what you type as you type it
  • Tap to edit, drag to move in Read mode, delete with one visible button
  • Clean reading: chord and text controls only appear in their own editing modes

  CHARTS & SYMBOLS
  • Coda lands at the start or end of a bar depending on where you tap
  • Fermata anchors to the exact chord you tap — and it's bigger now
  • Larger, clearer D.C., D.S. and Fine markings
  • Enharmonic swap now respells the bass under slash chords too
  • Toggling Grids keeps your handwritten notes exactly on their staves

  LIBRARY & SHARING
  • The library now opens as a list — Recent scores stay as big cards
  • Import ScorDial — a dedicated entry right in the Import menu
  • Check for Updates takes you straight to the App Store
  • Song markings, tab positions and key states travel faithfully between all your devices

Plus many fixes and refinements throughout.
