Do not get me wrong, this app still retains those qualities and advances even more with its updates. However, I am thoroughly disappointed in how the app has changed over the years in terms of pushing the “Upgraded Version”. For years it has fluctuated between limiting to only 20 songs, only allowing playback for 50 measures at a time, and weird technical things like not being able to change a key and time signatures at the same time. Their recent updates really sealed the deal for me though, as you can only use 2 instruments per song, which is very sad for long time users like me and restricts new users from seeing the true potential of the app. I would absolutely love to be able to jump back into this app and make music that I love, but I sadly am not able to do that anymore. It’s very disappointing. ### 3/5 — Problem with line break *2026-02-22, version 11.3* Hello, I have Basic User Full Version (24,99). There is NO Button for a line break. I’m really frustrated after 1 hour searching for breaking a line at a specific bar. Don’t find a tutorial for this. Please help me. Why would I pay $20 dollars per month just to add more than 2 instruments! I would ask if you wanted money I wouldn’t mind having ads but not too much (like an ad for every note placed down) I’m very sad to see this is how this app turned out to be but that’s just life. ### 3/5 — Great App, Weird Updates *2025-07-29, version 11.1* I love this app and use it all the time to put my backing piano into so that I can sing without having to play. I also use it to put in choral pieces so I can practice on my own without the whole choir. However, one of the most recent updates has limited the number of instruments per score to two, unless you upgrade. This has made it very challenging to do the work I wish to on the app. Also, it’s unclear how you can upgrade. If you want people to upgrade do the premium version so badly, at least tell them how? This makes me so sad because I did really love this app. ### 3/5 — Okay, but Limited *2025-07-29, version 11.1* It Was a really useful app to use for composition, but after the update that limited it to two instruments and only going up to 30 measures it was starting get less useful, but it is fine for small songs and duets (sort of….) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not the same *2026-08-24, version 11.5.1* I used to really love it as it was free and accessible and you could essentially do whatever you wanted. But now, it’s like everything is limited, everything in which it takes to make good music. I really miss how it used to be about 3 years back. Now in order to make at least good music, you need to pay premium and it sucks. ### 1/5 — Basic Features Do Not Work *2026-08-21, version 11.5.1* I was unable to import scores in either .sc or .musicxml despite both being marked as accepted file types. Uploaded a single page of my PDF and changed the playback settings to piano instead of violin. It played it as violin. Overall, the app has very limited options for unpaid use, and I would never buy the full version without being able to test the most basic functions. ### 1/5 — Listen to the people! *2026-07-04, version 11.4.1* Before, I was allowed to have more than 2 instruments, now I have to pay of more than 2. Fix it back to before, other people have made reviews like this, and you haven't fixed it. There are chances people (like me) leave your app for different apps. Since I’ve had this app, it has allowed me to add as many instruments as I wanted up until the latest updates, which requires you to buy a full version of the app for money just to use more that two instruments. Like I have songs on the app that I made before this update that use more that two instruments but for some reason you can’t do that anymore. I was able to quickly pick up on how the app worked, and it is really helpful of an app for the next time i want to write a song with instruments that Flat.io doesnt offer. Also, it’s really convenient that the app’s subscription is so cheap, as it allows for a much easier full experience than with Flat.io. This app is also much easier for me to pick up swiftly than other more popular composing apps. The app is not opening at all. Every time I want to open the app it force closes on me and I can’t access it. I have the full Purchased app version. But now it says to buy it again. How can I fix this? Please help me solve this or refund my money. Update: The Developer was very helpful and helped me solve my problem, I am now able to access the app again. I contacted for support and received an amazing assistance from the Developer.
