### 5/5 — BEST APP HANDS DOWN

*2023-08-27, version 2.5.4*

The SCOUTEK app is by far the best app I have used for cellular camera management. I can seamlessly manage all of my cameras without experiencing in the field issues like I have with other apps. The new map feature that was recently implemented was a great addition. This company is operated by some great people who truly care about their customers. Customer service is second to none! Hats off to these folks. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Absolutely best customer service I’ve ever experienced

*2023-08-23*

I purchased the shadow cameras (2 pack - great promotion) and had left them on test mode overnight but was worried something was wrong! I reached out via text and the support team was incredible! Obviously it was user error, and they were super patient and kind and very quick to help me find the problem. I just placed my second order on the cameras so I got 2 more coming.
Thank you, Scoutek!
You guys are making my first hunting season incredible already!

### 5/5 — Incredibly simplistic and intuitive

*2023-08-16, version 2.5.4*

The Scoutek scouting App is so easy to navigate and command requests sent to the App have always gone through flawlessly.

Really appreciate the OTA firmware update option right from the App. In the past I’ve owned other brands that require ypu to go to the camera directly with preloaded firmware on an SD card, which defeats the purpose of the cell cam in my opinion.

Overall, I highly recommend this App for all yput scouting needs! Scotty and the boys at Scoutek will always respond if you have any in-field issues as well with great customer support!

### 5/5 — Customer service is great

*2023-08-01, version 2.5.4*

Had some issues when getting the cameras out this year. Contacted support and they had it fixed within 24 hours. Thanks again guys.

### 5/5 — Great customer support

*2023-06-20, version 2.5.2*

I had a question on my account and SCOUTEK was so helpful getting me straightened out! Not only that, Scotty gave me valuable information about my account and how to save money!! Great company!!

### 5/5 — Questions Answered

Love the team at SCOUTEK. I’m new to cell cameras and they constantly communicated with me until all my issues where resolved.

### 5/5 — First Timer

*2023-02-10, version 2.5.2*

Best cameras out there. First time using a cell cam and I absolutely love the Exodus trail cameras and SCOUTEK is easy to use and the customer service TOP NOTCH!!! Scott is quick to respond to every question I had. Thank you guys for making it easy for the first timers.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-02-02, version 2.5.0*

This is by far the best app I’ve used for my trail cameras. Anytime I’ve had a question the response times are very timely and answered.

### 5/5 — First time cell cam user

*2023-01-17, version 2.5.0*

I am 3 months into my first cell camera. No complaints so far. Great customer service from Scotty when I inquired about switching the setting to video on demand. Happy to support a new up and coming company. Just ordered my second camera.

### 5/5 — Fantastic Customer Service

*2022-02-08, version 2.2.4*

Newbie camera user. Spencer walked me through the entire set up. Great. Just great.

### 5/5 — The best cellular trail cam app

*2020-12-08, version 2.0*

An absolutely wonderful app coupled with the best cell trail camera available by Exodus. The SCOUTEK team is great to work with on the support side as well!

### 5/5 — Extremely easy to use

*2020-08-17, version 2.0*

By far the easiest app to use for managing cameras, customer service is very reliable and always helpful when needed

### 5/5 — Just The Best

*2020-07-19, version 1.9.2*

Like the title says just the best for organizing your trail cam footage. Easily add new cams, and have a Scoutek account set up for the best app to organize, view, and manage your footage.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Horrible UI/UX

*2023-12-07, version 2.6.3*

In the world of camera apps this one seems to forget the day to day primary JTBD. The UI/UX is far from intuitive and has been left behind by most every other camera app out there these days. It’s honestly a shame that Exodus cameras are tied to this app. It’s the primary reason I stopped buying their cameras.

### 2/5 — App photo numbers on app home page don’t show up

*2022-01-27, version 2.0.3*

I don’t understand why on the app the new photos aren’t marked as new or something to know which photos are new. It’s very weird. I came from covert and there app at least shows and labels which photos are new and need to be viewed. Also the app on home page doesn’t reflect a new photo or anything.

### 2/5 — App has issues on 2020 iPhone

*2021-08-26, version 2.0.3*

For the amount of money I spent on these exodus trail cameras I expect everything to work…and of course the app has bugs. Not entirely impressed with how much exodus uses the word quality referring to this setup.

### 3/5 — Scouttek app

*2025-01-19, version 2.7.0*

I’ve never had a problem with the app. It had preformed well. The line fees are outrageous and the data plan is two expensive. When I had the Exodus app I paid $100 less a month!! I never had a problem with the Exodus app. I even had a 5 GB plan $100 cheaper than Scouttek 1 Gb plan. Until they change there line fees in data plans I’ll use my camera as normal SD cameras. 2GB and two cameras is more expensive than my 5GB and 11 cameras!! They’re making a fortune!!

### 3/5 — Ok could use fixing

*2022-07-13, version 2.4.1*

App continually crashes when trying to delete pictures. Not a deal breaker but very frustrating.

### 4/5 — Good but…

*2023-12-02, version 2.6.3*

We have 12 cameras and I keep having to add one of the cameras back to the SCOUTEK app. I should not have to do this every couple days. Please fix

### 4/5 — Overall decent, with room for improvement

*2020-08-24, version 2.0*

Does a good job of remotely allowing users to change camera settings and thankfully many bugs have been fixed.

Please don’t consider the amount of critical words to follow as an indication of this being a terrible app - I simply go into a lot of detail to hopefully help the app developers improve certain pain points I’ve been experiencing with the app over the past year of using it with multiple Exodus Renders. Also, I’m using an iPhone 8 Plus.

A few of the biggest issues I’ve had with the app as of 8/19/2020 are:
- When using a multiple shot burst count for photos, the displayed order of photos while scrolling are shown out of chronological order, which can be VERY confusing at times. For example, let’s say we had a cam set on photo mode with 3 shot burst to make sure it catches at least one good photo of a moving deer down a trail. If multiple deer were walking on the trail, say 20 yds apart, you’d expect it to take two sets of 3 photos: photos 1, 2, & 3 should be triggered when the first deer crosses by, and photos 4, 5, & 6 should be triggered when the second deer crosses by the camera on the same trail. When scrolling through the photos one by one, logically you’d expect to have them in chronological order (i.e 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)...HOWEVER, they actually show up with bursts grouped together, where the bursts are in chronological order, but the photos within each burst are in reverse chronological order (i.e. 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3). This can be especially confusing to make sense how many deer are actually crossing in front of the camera if you aren’t paying incredibly close attention to the seconds in the time stamp. Without looking closely at the time stamp, there’s little way of knowing if you’re looking at the same deer which moved further down the path in the photo because time elapsed, or whether it’s a different deer that just entered the photo. I suppose this doesn’t matter if all you care about is seeing a rack of your target buck to make sure he’s alive and in your area, but if you like to get a good sense of how many does are in your area for health of the herd and other property management goals, or even if you just like to use the photo burst to tell which direction a deer was moving, this poorly designed order of burst photos makes for a confusing waste of time.
- The second issue should hopefully be easy to fix, but the app doesn’t seem to have a way of showing a badge icon when there are unviewed pictures. I’ve enabled every notification option within the Scoutek internal app settings as far as I can tell, as well as enabled all the general notifications settings from within the iPhone settings menus, with still no badge icon working properly. Other cell cam apps like the Spypoint app seem to do this effortlessly and provide a much smoother experience with notifications/alerts when new photos have been uploaded to the photo stream.
- The third issue is more of just a hassle with the aspect of having friends sharing photos with each other. Let me first say that the whole fact that this is possible to share access to your photo stream is fantastic now that I finally was able to get it to work, but frankly it wasn’t intuitive with the process of actually enabling the shared photos with friends. The main issue with it is that it’s easy to initially request someone and accept them as a follower, and you would then think that they should be able to start seeing photos, but that’s not the case. After accepting them, you then have to specifically find a permissions menu for which cameras you share with those friends after you already accepted them as followers. Imagine if you accepted a friend request on Facebook but they could never see anything you posted unless you knew to go to another hidden menu to specifically enable them to see any photos or statuses you made...and you had to go to this hidden permissions menu for each person you accepted as a Facebook friend every time. Yikes that’s an annoying thought. For the Scoutek app, I think it would be more intuitive to give friends access to all cameras/photos once someone accepts the follow request, and then have the opportunity for the camera owner to specifically limit cameras afterwards if they so choose. Another better alternative would be to simply build it into the dialog box that when a user initially accepts a follower request, it immediately asks the user to select which cameras they want to permission the follower to see. That way users don’t think it’s just an app glitch for months on end after accepting the follow request and the other person still can’t see a single photo (if this is exactly what happened to me, a 28 year old tech savvy dude - now imagine how non intuitive it must be for a 50+ year old hunter new to the technology and trying to share with his friends).

With all that said, this is cutting edge stuff with cell cams and it’s a fast paced world with app design improvements. So thanks for reading my review and for making the constant app improvements. Keep up the good work gents.

### 5/5 — Great Customer Service and Quality Photos

*2024-08-09, version 2.7.0*

I purchased 4 shadow cameras. The photo quality is very impressive. I did have a issue with one camera connecting. I texted the number on the website and within hours I had a phone call from customer support trying to troubleshoot the problem. The guy that called me was extremely nice and helpful. After a attempts troubleshooting the customer service rep offered to have the cameras mailed back so it could be fixed or a new one sent to me. I received a return label in my email and I am shipping the camera tomorrow. I am very impressed with this company and look forward to changing all my camera over this company not only for the quality of photos but the customer service!

*2023-11-16, version 2.6.3*

I want report the Great customer service I’ve received from the folks a SCOUTEK I use there data plan and have purchased cameras from them as well. First class on both. I recently had a new camera purchased from SCOUTEK that wasn’t working to my or there standards. Sent it back to them and instead of keeping it until they found the problem and being in the middle Whitetail deer season they just sent me a New one with there apologies. You have to admit that’s very rare these days. Keep up the Great service SCOUTEK.

I’ve used there app for two years now. It’s super easy to use and any questions I had was answered. I have used Tactacam and other cell camera companies. This app is by far the best I’ve used.
