There was no E in sight. ### 2/5 — Fun but annoying *2026-05-27* When you first start playing the rate of adverts is ok but after a while they come along after every turn! Also I’m suspicious whilst playing a bot that the letters are deliberately dealt so that the bot gets the higher scoring letters and therefore you have no chance of winning… if you are competitive you keep playing and so keep seeing the adverts… then after a while the letters seem to be more equally dealt! I have played this version on many occasions just with an intermediate bot. but it is quite clear that the AI has been so programmed to provide the bot on at least 80% of the time with all the better tiles and the live player on about at least 70% of the time simply getting vowels. This is apparently allowed by Apple. There is a way around this by using assistive touch which shuts any program you are using with a hovering button. But like others, I moved to this game from Scrabble Go! Thanks to the countless ads after every turn and hefty price for getting rid of them. After what appeared to be a brief period lo and behold the ads start creeping into the experience. I’m not paying the app so I accept there will be ads. But when do you think of the consumer and not the advertisers?! Not to mention the amount of times you have to click on the ads to get rid of them. Pander to the advertisers that’s fine, I get it, you need it to compensate for those of us that aren’t subscribing, but the feeling of non-too ads that are a pain to dismiss is more likely to drive me away than have me subscribe. It’s actually ridiculous. There are also banner ads. You can of course get rid of them for £2.99 a month which for me is way too pricey. If they made it 99p I would probably do it and so would a lot of other people I imagine so it’s a bit short sighted of them. But greed takes over as always. It’s largely a test of who has the most patience to try out variations… phonies and challenges are an integral part of Scrabble - arguably some of the most interesting parts - and without them this is a lot less fun. Read their rules and they say no slang or foreign words yet they allow slang being used by their bots when you play them but when I tried to use some or even the same word later it’s rejected. Also you can’t go back and look at the game when it’s over and review the words. Some words that were used couldn’t even be found when googled. I’d like to know the name of the dictionary being used so I can get hold of a copy. I reckon none exists and the system is out to annoy you either made up words and irritating ads which appears after you play for a certain time. The subscription model is ridiculous and the initial occasional adverts become more and more frequent eventually being shoved in at the conclusion of practically every turn. Today I was asked to rate the game, two buttons were offered: a “later” option and another which showed 5 stars. Thinking I could press the latter and then choose my rating I did so but the screen then returned to game play so I have been tricked into a 5 star rating when I wanted to give a 1. There are many other games out there that are more colourful, interactive at less than half the cost of this game ### 1/5 — The game is false. *2026-04-09* This game uses false words and allows people to get letters in positions after a person has made a word. I’ll put down ‘quote’ and you’re telling me that quoted is worth 30 points when the person hasn’t done a single thing. I’ve done all the graft and they’ve cheated their way into a higher score. The points system is abhorrent. I’d also like to mention the fact that they give a multitude of the same letters in a word bank at the start of the game such as two o’s or two t’s which renders my game useless as the person I play with likes to use this repulsive system to her advantage. It needs a serious renewal and update - the words are not real words, ‘zea’ is not a real word, and yes it took me three tries to get that in due to autocorrect, so is it a word or not? Hooray! Years ago I played Scrabble by EA sports, that was very good but then it finished and Scrabble Go seems to be the only one, which is full of ads and all the other collecting stupid cards rubbish, you have to do so much clicking and closing the cross after each turn. I tried Words with friends but the layout is terrible you can hardly put down the 7 letter words because the terrible layout and the dictionary is very odd. Finally found this one, which is excellent!! No rubbish stuff, just about scrabble. I particularly love the daily challenge where you have to find the highest score. There is one thing I would love to have on this app, which was on the old EA sports app, that after every turn, if it can show you what the best move would have been will be perfect. Please developers can you add this in? Thank you!! Also when I go for random opponents, there never seem to be anyone on similar level to me, which is not challenging enough.
