### 5/5 — Finally an app that does the math instead of selling hype

*2026-06-13*

I’ve messed around with a few scratch off odds sites and they’re all either ugly spreadsheets of remaining prizes or thinly disguised ads to get you to buy more tickets. This one is different. It pulls live data for my state and actually runs simulations on each game. Instead of just “this game has 4 top prizes left” you get a realistic picture of what might happen at the gas station.

The ticket simulator is also weirdly useful. I ran a bunch of sessions on a $30 game before deciding it wasn’t worth it, which probably saved me more than the Pro subscription costs. Found a better game with better odds from simulation.

What sold me is that the app is honest about the math. It flat out tells you the expected return on scratch offs might be negative. It’s not trying to convince you that you’ll win, it’s trying to help you lose less if you’re going to play anyway.

The store scanner that identifies games from a photo of the kiosk is nice.

Free tier is good to start but if you play scratch offs with any regularity, this pays for itself in avoided bad tickets imo.

**Developer response:** Thank you, this is exactly the app we set out to build. Glad the simulator and the store scanner are earning their keep, and that ScratchGuide has helped you skip a few bad games.
