## What is Screen Time Control?

Inscreen is more than a screen time tracker. Inscreen helps you pause and reflect on your screen time at regular intervals throughout the day. Designed for simplicity and privacy, Inscreen has minimal features and a zero learning curve, helping you get started quickly.

⏵ HOW IS INSCREEN DIFFERENT?

Unlike other screen time apps that completely block access, Inscreen draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize your screen time habits through regular prompts and inculcate healthier behaviours without restrictions.

⏵ WHY IT WORKS?

We tap into a few key psychological principles and behavioural patterns. Here’s why it works:
- Awareness = Better Choices: Regular reminders to ask whether you're on your phone intentionally, encouraging healthier choices.
- Guiding, not controlling: Instead of strict limits, scheduled subtle nudges to guide you toward mindful decisions, without the frustration of restrictions.
- Accountability: Weekly progress, actionable insights and daily notifications leading to lasting behaviour changes.
- Low barrier to entry: No drastic changes or restrictions, making it easy to integrate into daily life and gradually adjust over time.

⏵ FEATURES

- Alerts to be intentional about your screen time.
- Focus sessions to completely block distracting apps for a set routine, say, during work or winding down at night.
- Strict daily limits to keep your screen time in control.
- Notifications that help you track your daily activity.
- Secure and private. All your data stays on your device.

⏵ HOW DOES THE SETUP WORK?

1. Choose the distracting apps or categories.
2. Set a daily limit.
3. Set up focus sessions (optional).

### 5/5 — Finally a simple version!

*2026-01-14, version 1.6*

I downloaded a few different competitors, but finding this easily the best.

It does exactly what I want simply - you set your daily limit, and it sends you customisable reminders when you’ve reached 1hr, 2hrs etc. it also gives you historic stats, so you can track progress. Other more expensive competitors seem to want you to spend time on their apps, with leaderboards and gamification, therefore rather defeating the point…

I’ve already easily cut my phone time down by an hour since using this app.

Thanks to the developers!

### 5/5 — The only one of its kind.

*2025-12-15, version 1.6*

I spent hours upon hours trying to find an app that would send me alerts to update me on my screen time usage and none of them could do it. I even asked ChatGPT and it said it wasn’t possible in iOS but somehow these developers have managed it. I’ve used app blockers before and I still use one for TikTok & Reddit but I really wanted an app that could just keep me conscious of how much time I was spending on my phone without cutting off all access which is exactly what Inscreen does.

My only small bit of feedback would be that I wish you could turn off the option to strict block after your set time has run out. It’s easy to get around it by just putting your set time limit higher however, this skews the data in the ‘commitment graph’. I’d like to be able to set my time limit at 5hours, for example, then be notified that I’d hit my limit and then leave the choice up to me whether I want to keep things blocked or unblock them and ‘fail’ for that day. As I say though, this is only a small complaint because the app does everything I wanted it to do and the graph was a bonus feature for me anyway!

Thank you to the developers, your app deserves so much more recognition and I hope more people find it❤️

### 1/5 — Completely inaccurate time tracking

*2025-05-21, version 1.6*

Time spent on different apps is completely inaccurate. The app has a built-in “excuse” for this. It constantly says the “screentime API’s are extremely unstable” and suggested that you force close the app and reopen it. Doing so doesn’t fix anything. Today it reported 8 minutes of time on YouTube when the actual time was more like 1.5 hours. Another app, InScreen, is able to track time 100% accurately somehow, in spite of the “unstable” API.

The app blocking functionality is very good. If the time tracking was somewhat accurate the app would be awesome.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work properly

*2025-05-16, version 1.6*

I love how simple the app is, but it’s entirely unstable. Regularly shows I’m over the daily limit and blocks the app even when the app hasn’t been opened at all that day, or opened by below the limit (and it shows in the app). There are no limits set natively, so that cannot be the issue. After several weeks of this, I’m giving up.

### 2/5 — Unstable

*2025-04-14, version 1.6*

Unstable

### 1/5 — Hard paywall ruined it all

*2025-03-30, version 1.6*

There’s no way to try the app before paying full price or starting a subscription. Sure, there’s a trial, but why would I start it if I have no idea what the app’s functionality even is?

### 3/5 — 會有繁體中文嗎

*2025-03-28, version 1.6*

會有繁體中文嗎

### 5/5 — Beautiful App

*2025-03-27, version 1.6*

Great UI and nice sign up flow. Excited to see the future of this app!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-03-16, version 1.5*

The app really helps in reducing screentime. I have been using for a while and my screentime has gone down.

Thanks

### 5/5 — Super effective!

*2025-03-14, version 1.5*

My screen time has actually reduced! The app is very easy to use and I absolutely love the encouraging nudges, they really make you want to do the right thing :)
