## What is Screen Time?

Make distracting apps harder to open—and healthy habits easier to keep.

Friction helps you take back your attention with intentional barriers for distracting apps and websites. Set Screen Time limits, schedule focus windows, and use health-based goals to earn access when you have met the habits that matter to you.

FEATURES

• Block selected apps, categories, and websites
• Set schedules and daily session budgets
• Use exercise, sleep, and daylight goals as unlock conditions
• Add location- and calendar-based focus rules
• Pause before opening a blocked app and record a short reflection
• Follow active sessions with Live Activities
• Extend your setup to Mac with app and website controls

Friction uses Apple Screen Time controls and keeps your selections private. Health data is read only with your permission and is used to evaluate the goals you configure.

No subscription is required to use Friction. For existing subscriptions: Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.

Location rules are easier to add and more reliable. Search for an address or place instead of needing to be there, choose the matching result, preview it on a map, and save it as a blocking location. We fixed an issue where the Add Location sheet could close immediately the first time it opened, improved how the map follows a selected place, and made the save action easier to reach after searching. Location permission changes now refresh monitoring more consistently, and existing rules continue to work while you set up a new one.
