Doesn’t stay connected at all. Have to constantly re boot everything to keep the connection. Nothing else in hone has problems. ### 1/5 — SL Config stopped working *2020-05-17, version 2.0* SL config stopped working. Have tried numerous customers, numerous times, and I cannot utilize the app. It doesn’t work locally or remotely. SL Connect working well. Sadly, this means either more expense for customer call out or for our company in waiving trip/labor charges to make a trip. Been going on for months now. Would had been very useful to have during the quarantine! Pentair, fix the app and I’ll change rating to 5 star - like it used to be! Running IOS 13.4.1 ### 1/5 — Never works *2020-04-16, version 2.0* I’ve been installing Pentair PSL4 for years, and this app never works! I always have to end up programming the system manually. It’s a piece of trash!!! It’s always claim the username doesn’t exist ### 1/5 — Beware *2020-03-05, version 2.0* Does not offer the range of settings the Mac app did, and worse, crashes after about 5-10 seconds. Unstable on iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max running iOS 13.3.1. Totally unusable which is really frustrating since Mac OS is also no longer supported. Pentair are clearly walking away from supporting Apple devices which is a shame for people like me that spent thousands on Pentair automation and use Apple products - beware. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2019-07-22, version 2.0* I've been getting 50 spurious emails a day from the system and the app won't let me change my email setting. Its clear this is a pool company trying to add technology without understanding how to really do it. I've had nothing but problems with my very expensive automation system. Nearly every component has been replaced. Thankfully, its been under warranty until now. As soon as i have to replace on my own, I'm going with someone else. ### 2/5 — App crashes *2018-11-28, version 2.0* Anytime I try to calibrate the temperature or set deep freeze alert, or add my email the App freezes or kicks me out. Very frustrating ### 1/5 — Terrible App for Pool Owners *2018-07-10, version 2.0* When you configure it you kind of expect your changes to remain in the app but no...log out then back in and tire changes? Gone. Calibrate sensors? Nah. It resets your calibration back to whatever default 84 degree setting the app came with. Location? Nah. It resets that too, randomly. I suddenly go from living in the desert to living above 10k feet apparently given the temp differences in their so called forecast page. Fix the app! And NO, an update every 5 months is NOT acceptable. ### 1/5 — OK when it works- but it rarely works *2018-07-03, version 2.0* I’ve had this setup for about eight months, to replace the even-more-costly-remote, and all of the negative reviews are true: spotty connections, weird resets, missing data. It connects one day, and not the next. It connects from one device sometimes but not another. When it works it’s great, but since that’s so infrequent, my new habit is simply to go to the main panel rather than try to deal with the headache of trying to get it to connect. ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service and horrible equipment *2018-05-11, version 2.0* I bought EVERYTHING from Pentair for my new pool/spa: almost everything has been breaking down, must be replaced. I had other pools before (non Pentair) and had very, very few issues. How many filter literally exploded on you? Me? Never except Pentair: the filter is rated for 50lb. My pool man comes twice a week. As soon as the pressure gets to 30, he backwashes. Despite all this, the filter split in half VERTICALLY. And of course Pentair told me to take a hike, claiming it is not a manufacturing problem. I am a Mfg engineer, of course, it is a huge design/Manufacturing issue! Leaking manual valves. Electric valves stopped working, flooded everything,... bottom line Pentair is BAD, don’t buy their stuff. It’s poorly built and when it breaks - of course just at the end of the warranty - they have a very simple solution: “no problem, buy another one”. Horrible!!! ### 1/5 — Used to love it! Not anymore. *2018-01-21, version 2.0* I used to love this app until the recent update ( t-mobile connection issue fix, I seem to remember) I could use it control my pool & features, change schedules, observe my water chemistry ( I have the intellichem) and turn the spa on on my way home from anywhere, then they updated it. Now the Home page icon is gone (still works if you know where to touch) my pool sweep schedule is gone, it’s not even in the available circuits anymore. It changed the names of schedules and features. New random features have appeared that apparently do nothing but I cannot remove. Fantastic job ### 1/5 — Don’t spend the extra $ for the remote *2024-05-04, version 2.0* If you’re having a pool installed ask your pool builder to throw it in for free because the app doesn’t work unless you’re connected to the same WiFi as your system. The purpose of the remote is to control your pool when you’re not home like heating your spa when you’re on the way home. You try to get in touch with pentair support and you’re on hold for 45 minutes just so they can tell you to download the 2nd app to make changes, so you can log in remotely, why can’t it all be on one app? Then you download the configuration app and its no use. I just think with the great products they say they have they can at least funnel some money into their application department. ### 1/5 — Horrible interface *2023-02-16, version 2.0* Is there ever going to be a better version of this app? This app hasn’t been updated in 3 years. Why is the connection so unstable? Why is the user interface so Atari-esque? Merge or joint venture with Ring or some other company with decent programmers. Looks like this app was developed in the 1990’s. Pentair’s management and product teams are asleep at the wheel - wake up people, this is 2021 and your clunky app is embarrassing! ### 1/5 — Bad company bad app *2021-01-05, version 2.0* Everything I own of Pentair breaks within a year and is never covered under warranty. In one case it messed up the config of an entire system on writing new changes. Better not to use on any live pentagram system. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Designed for professional *2022-05-25, version 2.0* Poor reviews are clearly due to lack of user knowledge. I install and program all types of pool automation. ScreenLogic configuration is a game changer for me, being able to utilize a remote app is HUGE. No fees for service calls. Pool builders and electricians call me at home and I can program form the office. Difficult to grasp all the features of it unless Knowledgeable in equipment it’s designed to control and sufficient is an electrician. Once properly trained you will understand the power of the automation system and the convenience of being able to change the setting remotely. ### 5/5 — Love it *2016-06-21, version 1.3* It's is missing being able to enable spa side remote ### 5/5 — Huge time saver. *2015-11-30, version 1.0* My service techs are literally jumping up and down with excitement because of this app. We are now able to set up our own (and customer) pools easily and seamlessly from our iPhones. So far, it has worked flawlessly. ### 4/5 — Works now with latest update *2017-11-09, version 1.6* Works:) ### 4/5 — One of my favorite apps *2016-07-26, version 1.3* This app enables the user to control all spa, pool and features anywhere that Internet is available. My wife and I use it on our phones and iPads. It's perfect for starting the spa on the way home from anywhere. Also, the latest update enables you to change scheduling, chlorination settings and review history as well. This app would be much better if it automatically logged in. It sometimes takes a little too long to load up and it doesn't seem to run in the background. So you have to log in every time you bring it up. Also, it seems that every time there's an app update, the hardware (brick) needs to have a firmware update too. But nobody will tell you that. So it often requires a call to Pentair tech support. ### 3/5 — Works good but bug in pump config page *2023-08-15, version 2.0* The app works well for me but there is a bug on the “Setup Intelliflo” page. The app only brings up the “Priming Parameters” page for the first pump. If you have two intelliflo pumps and select Pump 2, than scroll down and select the Priming Parameters, only Pump 1 is displayed. No way to configure those for Pump 2 ### 3/5 — ScreenLogic logic config needs a fix for remote connection *2020-05-14, version 2.0* I tried on 3 separate devices to log into a clients system remotely to no avail. Spent 45 minutes on phone with tech from Pentair still no connection remotely. Local works great. ScreenLogic connect works great both local and remote. Config doesn’t recall previous connections either. Frustrating to not have this feature to diag issues without having to be onsite. Especially since that is supposed to be the reason for remote connection ### 3/5 — Improving *2015-12-09, version 1.1* Nice that there is a separate app for configuration, but the UI on both ScreenLogic app needs to be updated (i.e. outdated keyboard). I can’t get it to save my email address/alert selection. Come on Pentair, you are better than having a dos prompt app! ### 2/5 — Last update to app was 4 years ago!?! *2022-11-23, version 2.0* So, bought this set up and was super excited that I could now control my pool from my device. Has not turned out to be a wonderful as I had hoped. First, the wifi connection to the equipment wouldn’t work, in spite of the outdoor wifi connector being 6 feet from my router. Second, all kinds of stuff doesn’t work on the app. The time is off, the app randomly adds or takes away scheduled functions. Connection is spotty. And in case pentair hadn’t noticed, technology changes constantly. You cannot put an app out and never update it! Four years since the last update is an eternity in technology. And you have many complaints on your reviews, so seems like you would work on the app occasionally. Disappointing.
