I did not have my wallet as I had selected and paid for all the items on my phone. I was told repeatedly that it says so on the text. It does not - it says “Please bring your payment method with you and check-in on the app or in-store.” ID - which I did not have is a driving licence or something. I did the entire transaction on my phone - so my payment method is my phone, I had my phone on me which had the confirmation emails and texts. Other major retailers manage to cope with providing this as evidence of purchase for items significantly in excess of £200. I think Screwfix need to modernise a bit. As for the woman in charge, repeatedly and patronisingly telling me I should have brought something and how it’s on the text in a condescending tone were not helpful. She also said I needed to wait while she served another customer even though it was her colleague who asked her a question, not me. I was not once asked to show my email or text confirmation or what other ID I had on my phone - just lectured at like a naughty schoolgirl in front of other customers.
