### 2/5 — App requires much needed updates and new features

*2022-07-26, version 1.6*

This app would be so much better if any new features had been added in the last year that are quite common sense. Easy ability to save favourites or recall old draw history. Also the ability to split an image into the various colours so that you can pause and load a fresh pen to prevent drying out. Or the ability to redo a particular colour because the pen dried out by letting us start at the 3rd or 4th colour stage or at a certain percentage progress in the drawing (like at the 60% mark). It would make using the scribit a lot easier because it’s quite finicky.

### 2/5 — App is hard to use for my purpose

*2020-02-04, version 1.3.7*

I want to put a menu on the wall in one and a half to two inch high letters. But the app is very unwieldy and I’ve not been able to accomplish this. This should be easy peasy for this machine and the app limits it.

I also have a window art gallery for which I bought two scribits. I also want to put daily quotes and drawings on a street window. Perhaps weather forecasts... the price of a local commodity (important to my community) and on the wall inside I also want to have the ability to allow the public to upload designs which will get drawn and then erased in a queue. If there were an api, oh only if there were an api.... I could code all of this.

The App Store shows widgets, they don’t exist in the app I just downloaded. I know there have been improvements since launch, this the two stars, instead of one. But when are we going to get the things that will make this device really useable. You’ll sell a ton of them if it becomes useable. Like for menus, text, printing charts as one guy mentioned... please don’t stop working on the code for this, I will update my review with each improvement.

### 1/5 — Terrible product.

*2019-12-26, version 1.3.6*

So upset that i wasted $400 on this piece of garbage! Cant get it to connect to wifi at all . Thanks for selling us a pile of useless plastic scribit !!

### 1/5 — Horrible.

*2019-12-26, version 1.3.6*

Horrible. Disappointing, frustrating, infuriating. Could have been nice. Should have been nice. Just horrible so far though.

### 1/5 — Not great at all!

*2019-11-23, version 1.3.6*

The product looks fantastic but does not have all the feature as advertised.

The size constraints are rather large, and do not suit any home buyer. The customer support has been very poor.

Scribit team you can do better!

### 1/5 — Can not connect

*2019-11-18, version 1.3.6*

I can’t connect to the internet even though I downloaded the app after your October firmware update. I saw other reviews with the same problem. I need a phone number to call for help or I’m sending this thing back. The other horrible reviews make me afraid I just got scammed. Tye Smoole 602-526-4274

### 1/5 — Awesome potential - App & SW Need Attention

*2019-11-16, version 1.3.6*

Updated Review: tried to new Upload feature for using one’s own graphics. Possibly better for graphical pictures and such; however, we got for use at work to put block diagrams, flow diagrams and other things with text in them and it detects text but won’t draw it. You have to remove it all from your original, then put it in all over again manually in Adobe Illustrator or similar application. (Not sure why if they accept SVG it doesn’t just write out the text???). Bottom line, still ridiculous and useless unless you want purely graphics (and still more limited then it should be there). Still hopeful; hardware and firmware seem good, software/importing still needs serious work.

(Original Review) Concept and hardware seem awesome (could be faster, but okay). You really need to be able to import vector graphics (or better interpretation of uploaded images...even line drawings not even close) or some other standard for of import (e.g. EPS, DXF, GIF...anything). ...Then I’ll give you your 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect

*2019-11-07, version 1.3.6*

Update: more hours wasted, zero success. I was trying to be patient because I think the concept is great, but this app, even after the most recent update, just does not work. News flash for the developers, if the robot will not connect in the first place (in settings it just spins and says “no internet connection”) then there is no way to download the newest firm ware, which is “guaranteed to fix the problem”.

In fact, without the robot connected, there is no way to even see what version of firmware you have!

I’m done being patient, based on the quality of this app, I feel like a bunch of middle-school kids have successfully ripped me off. Unfortunately this will make me much less likely to back anything else on Kickstarter in the future as well. If I could give negative stars I would

Many hours wasted already / I expected early adopter challenges, but I can’t connect to the robot, so I can’t even start addressing the challenges! So far pretty worthless

### 1/5 — Impossible

*2019-11-03, version 1.3.6*

The effort needed to make the scribit device work is not worth it, and that’s if you can get it to work at all. It’s a fickle beast that represents a novel idea but a pure execution on the app. The manual and instructions are simply undeveloped. Extremely frustrated with my purchase and I received it for less than half retail cost.

### 1/5 — Great paperweight, terrible product/app

*2019-10-31, version 1.3.5*

Great product idea but I can’t get the device to work or pair with my iPhone via the app. Terrible execution...but so far makes a great paper weight!

### 1/5 — Robbery!

*2026-04-21, version 1.6*

The device i spent hundreds of pounds is bricked because I can no longer log into the app to use it! Appalling. I supported your business and believed in your product and you didn’t even leave us with the barebones of an app so we could at least use the product we’d bought. I hope you feel shame, as I feel like I’ve been robbed!

### 1/5 — Log in fail

*2025-09-26, version 1.6*

The log in is impossible, is like the app has been turned off. Please help.

### 1/5 — Подключите робота обратно

*2025-07-25, version 1.6*

Приложение не работает даже с VPN. Это нечестно, продавать такой дорогой товар и не поддерживать его жизнь в дальнейшем.

### 1/5 — App shutdown

*2025-04-04, version 1.6*

App no longer works, seems they shut down. Your Scribbit is now bricked! 🤬

### 1/5 — Seems to have gone out of business

*2025-03-19, version 1.6*

The app no longer works and this device is a paper weight.

### 1/5 — Dead

*2025-02-21, version 1.6*

App doesn’t allow create account. The hardware is useless now. Looks like scam

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2021-01-09, version 1.6*

The app constantly get stuck on “processing.” It’s not until I unplug the scribit to start over does it tell me “connected” or “complete.” It tells me calibration is in progress while showing me how the robots should be moving, but after 9 minutes the robot has NOT moved and I con not exit the screen. Even the “error” messages give no explanation of what the error is!

### 1/5 — Latest update is broken

*2020-02-18, version 1.4*

They updated and made the app smaller. Well now I can’t see thumbnails of the drawings I’ve uploaded and moreover when I click on one of the blank images there are no options. The update made the app/and the drawing completely useless!

### 1/5 — Unable to download the app from the AppStore

*2020-01-29, version 1.3.7*

Tapping on the download icon shows the spinner and then times out. Looks like there is no app currently available. For now I can’t even try the app or device.

### 1/5 — The app is unreadable

*2020-01-22, version 1.3.7*

The current version of the app shows the variable names for objects in the app rather than the intended text!!! Come on Scribit this is complete amateur hour!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love my Scribit!

*2022-05-05, version 1.6*

I bought my Scribit over a year ago and I continue to enjoy using it. I have some feedback for the app, however?

1. Can I see a historical view of drawings? Sometimes I like to go back in history and redraw the same picture. Navigation is tricky if you don’t remember the category the drawing is in.

2. Can a share button be added to drawings? Sometimes I want to share a drawing with my family members before printing. I’d like to send a quick message with a snapshot of the selected drawing. I’m sure there are other sharing scenarios too.

3. A cool social feature might be for users to share photographs of their print within the app. I know FB and IG are great channels to share, but it would be nice to connect directly to other Scribit users.

Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Great product and customer service.

*2022-04-01, version 1.6*

We love our scribit and the customer service was on par with the product. We had a shipping snafu with FedEx customs into the US - the Toxicity paperwork wasn’t attached to the package and was returned to sender. Scribit was quick and responsive to resolve the issue and resent the package via DHL - I recommend requesting this shipping service in lieu of FedEx because there was another fee to pay at customs - DHL texted me about the issue and I was able to resolve payment with customs to avoid another returned package.

### 5/5 — Creativity for the not so creative

*2021-12-04, version 1.6*

Love it!
I use it in an office context to send inspirational messages to the team!

### 5/5 — Fantastic App and Hardware

*2020-10-07, version 1.6*

Probably one of the most underrated art tools currently available. I’ve had nothing but good experiences and I’ve been using it for years now. The self upload is an awesome feature that also has worked nicely ever since they released it.

Personally, I’ve had a ton of fun and the app updates have only added to that experience.

### 5/5 — Light hearted fun

*2020-05-03, version 1.5*

This has kept the kids entertained during the lockdown and has changed one of our main walls into a dynamic canvas. Ok so uploading an image from a phone into the app doesn’t have much control over the image but it does work for the most part. I think continuous development will ensure the Scribit team innovate and make the most of a brilliant little robot. Bravo...

### 5/5 — Scribit

*2020-03-12, version 1.5*

I’ve been using Scribit in my classroom. It has been used across the curriculum forging ties in ELA, science, mathematics, and coding. It’s such a great way to share and celebrate students’ work while engaging students’ creative and problem solving skills. The support from Scribit’s team has been superlative. Great company. I highly recommend.

### 5/5 — A continually improving device

*2019-11-25, version 1.3.6*

Now that I can both choose art and create my own to be drawn on the wall with the Scribit vertical plotter, a new landscape of art is available to me!
The holes for the markers could be larger to accept a greater variety of brands.

### 4/5 — Please make updates soon!

*2019-11-12, version 1.3.6*

Love the potential of this device!!!!! The app is nothing more than a tutorial and demo at this point.

You show widgets in the pictures that don’t exist, there is no way to upload anything original, some areas of the app have no back button so you have restart to get back, etc.

I understand you are developing new features and I can’t wait to see what is coming, but please add just basic functionality SOON.

Update - added functionality gets you 2 more stars!! And back button gets you another!

Erasable markers are pretty worthless. Have not had success with the erase function and the ink is semi transparent so the image is very muted. While it does wipe of easily it also smudges just as easy. I am going to tryout dry erase and hope the image is clearer.

### 3/5 — Once great product

*2026-01-05, version 1.6*

It worked for years but now that the company folded my favourite robot is dead to me and everyone else. Would have been nice for their supporters to leave in functioning in a minimal way.

### 3/5 — Please! Fix the setup flow!!

*2020-01-14*

I’ll change my rating once it works, but honestly this UX is really not good. Please improve the setup...

update: After 2 days I eventually got it working by downgrading my WiFi network. Once set up, this thing is impressive. But really some more work on the on boarding would be very useful.
