The execution leaves a bit to be desired. Just so many bugs here folks, so so many bugs. I gave up on trying to personalize this with my own picture. While it looks possible, it’s not, it keeps freezing and needing to be restarted. Just isn’t possible currently. So many other freeze ups just exploring the app, I wonder how it will work when I actually try to use it! But now it seems very difficult to get the proper printed stationery which I’ve been using to scan and upload to the SCRIBZEE app. Despite lining everything up in the corners, it still doesn’t work and just takes repeated shutter shots and makes noise like a clicking camera. Maybe it’s time I look for something else. ### 3/5 — Not saving flash cards *2025-04-02* Over the last couple days I have scanned my Spanish flash cards and they are nowhere to be found. The program does everything properly with taking the picture and acts like it is saving but it’s not. Also, when it does save, it goes into another file and then I have to move it to the file I want. This is quite time consuming and annoying. Please fix the flash card program. I love the flash card feature but wish it worked properly. Juste petit bémols je trouve qu’il y a pas assez de fonctionnalités sa manque de quelque chose car a par pouvoir les scanner et les ranger et mettre des rappels ont ne peut rien faire. Was mir an SCRIBZEE allerdings sehr gut gefällt, ist die Tatsache, dass aufgrund der Markierungen auf dem Papier die Ausrichtung schnell automatisch erfolgt. Damit sind seltsame Kissenverzerrungen oder Ähnliches einfach nicht mehr vorhanden. I tried for like 10 minutes kept changing the surface and tried everything it still would not work I would not recommend this app for the developer I was trying to scan flashcards and it just would not let me. I believe these flashcards may be an old type but I feel they should still work. ### 1/5 — Please make it Scrollable *2025-10-04, version 6.104.113011005* I have a smaller size phone, and I don’t want to get a big one. Right now I’m using the original SE (2016) because my 13 mini stopped working. I was trying to register for an account so I can use the app, but I can’t even finish the registration process because I can’t scroll to the bottom of the screen in order to hit “next” or whichever button it is I need to hit. It is possible to make apps fit smaller phone screens: just make the content scrollable so we can reach the bottom. Thank you! Be well. ### 1/5 — SO FRUSTRATING *2025-09-08* Could have been great! The problem? Well, I try to scan my Scribzee brand flashcards, and it either won't scan, or it scans and won't let me scan the back of it or will only let me hit "ok" which just saves it as the front for both sides. I end up with fronts and backs of flashcards and in 30 mins only was able to get 2 successful flashcards with the front and back on the same flashcard due to the app glitching out and having problems... I am so beyond frustrated with trying to use this app and specialized flashcard system. I thought it was going to be a lifesaver but in the end it is totally unusable and huge waste of time. I will stick to regular flashcards in the future... It runs so slow as to be unusable a especially when sunching with the cloud which takes a geological amount of time. For some reason it only load two of the study cards even though I scan three. No one wants to take the time to sort out what’s wrong with this non intuitive ap. Unfortunately the premium you pay on the electronic support for their paper products now makes them way over priced. Do not waste your time with this app or this company. Quality control people! Web app just shows blank pages with “no image found”, and files them under recent rather than the correct folders. Great idea, dreadful implementation. ### 1/5 — Sounds like a good idea - but won’t let me setup an account *2024-02-12, version 5.0.105010361* Sounds good, but the account creation page won’t accept my perfectly valid email address. It decides the address is invalid - presumably because I use my own .co.uk domain name for email. ### 1/5 — App Freezes - Does Not Work *2023-12-17* I am using this app on the latest iPhone with the latest iOS release, and I just downloaded the app today, so I have to assume it is the latest version of the app. (This is for the developer’s benefit, because in response to some reviews, the developer asks if the user has the latest versions.). When I start the app, a screen flashes, then disappears, asking if I want to open settings to allow push notifications. That alone is annoying. The app scans my pages beautifully, including multiple pages into one note. But then the app comes up short. With one exception, the app freezes when I try anything, and the only remedy is to shut down and restart, only to experience the same thing. It will not allow renaming of a note. It will not send a PDF. I cannot delete a note. The exception is that I can share a note by, for example, email. The email recipient gets a jpg file, but only the first page. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling, with the same results. Diese App nach dem Traum vom einfachen katalogisieren wahr! Das Scan funktioniert einwandfrei, die Möglichkeit in Ordner und Unterordnung zu organisieren ist fantastisch, die Handhabung ist extrem einfach und die App funktioniert ohne Werbung. Ein absoluter GameChanger ist die Suchfunktion, mit der man innerhalb der Notizen nach bestimmten Schlagwörtern suchen kann. Ich ich mache täglich Mitschriften meiner Kurse und bin von der App, bzw. dem gesamten System mit dem Blöcken, extrem positiv überrascht. Thanks. ### 5/5 — Handwriting = better learning *2025-07-25, version 6.102.113011004* Wikipedia on Note-taking references research which finds that “… students who took handwritten notes to students who typed their notes found that students who took handwritten notes performed better on examinations, hypothetically due to the deeper processing of learned material through selective rephrasing instead of word-for-word transcription which is common when typing notes…”. This app allows handwritten notes to be stored on the cloud, scanned quickly using the markers, and subsequently allows handwritten text to be searched online. I find it useful, convenient and reliable and, yes, handwritten material stays in my memory better than typed.
