They are so mechanical and monotonous which doesn’t help learning. ### 4/5 — Pretty Helpful! *2025-01-06* I’m generally a person that hates memorizing and it takes me a really long time. But with this app it really helped me memorize faster and easier! Fair warning the voices are super creepy. It’s really helpful once you get it set up but it is sort of time consuming depending on your script and how many lines you have because you have to enter all of your cues and your lines. It’s easy to use and I am able to upload the script quickly and start working on my lines. ### 2/5 — Lots of issues. *2024-05-06* It’s a good app but has lots of issues. You hit play and hope it will play the voices. It’s 80-20 that it will play. Or you add a pause, start the playback and it STOPS at the pause. Or does it. You won’t know until you’re in the middle of working. Restart the app and the pauses work. Maybe. Then to get it to play the audio again you have to kill the app and cross your fingers that it works correctly when you start it up again. Frustrating. **Developer response:** Hi. Thanks for the report. We're not aware of any issues at all with playing and pausing. Note that pauses and other learning settings apply to the Learn screen, but not to the Record/Edit screen. May need to tweak your script here and there with little effort. I use this app often for my own script memorization. Which I had no idea how to do at first because there’s no directions. Finally hit play and the voices are computerized and sounds ridiculous. Incredibly distracting if you’re going to try to memorize from them. The app is expensive and not worth paying just so I can record myself. Deleting this app immediately **Developer response:** Hi. The app uses the digital voices built into your device. You can also record your lines if you prefer. When trying to add my script, which is a password protected PDF, the app crashes. Tried several times. Crashed every time. There’s an easy process to load scripts, which automatically sort the text into speaking parts that are easily editable. You can choose voices from AI characters or record parts specifically for your work. There are many thoughtful design touches for different stages of learning, including hiding your characters lines, showing only the first letter, or displaying all the words. Script Rehearser has helped me enormously!! ### 5/5 — Good, but one problem *2026-06-19, version 6.9.205* The problem is all the voices sound like robots and make me a little paranoid about the robot uprising. How did I ever do without it?! ### 5/5 — Absolutely the BEST *2024-11-08* Yes, at least for my memorizing style, this app is perfection. All you need to do is import a pdf of any script and then you can go into the characters feature, choose your character in the script and the app will read all the other lines of all other characters to you. You can choose, as you begin to learn, to have the app play a Beep ss your cue, you can indicate how long you want a pause for speaking lines, it csn read that line back to you for comparison and any corrections. Or do none of that once you’re confident of your ability. You can choose which voice you want for every character from a good selection, change the pitch or speed of the voice, and the app will also read all of the stage directions (or you can select those be silent) It recognizes commas and you can edit the script as well, for example, indicate a (pause) If you get the upgraded membership, one of the perks is a bigger selection of voices, including accents such as British or Australian, plus others. I am able to memorize lines overnight because of this app. All of these options, the ease of using the app and a great support system, headed up by Maggie, make Script Rehearser the BEST app for learning a script as well as being able to Write one!!!!
