Suddenly when trying to use it again it locks all my scripts behind a paywall with no warning. So now I’m forced to pay some money in order to gain access to my scripts again, awsome 😐. **Developer response:** Hi ogducknasty. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Seems like a handy app for sketching out ideas, but it gets locked up often, freezes, and crashes. Really wish it didn’t do that. Lol. It asks all of the important questions for a writer to build their story and characters. However, you’ve gotta fix the bugs. It’s so frustrating typing out an entire section and hitting Save every time for safety, only to find that the app has deleted practically all of it. Seriously, fix the save function and I’ll be happy to give it five stars, it really is that good. ### 3/5 — Wont let me save *2021-10-01* I’ve paid for things in this app and everytime I try to save something it’s not letting me save but it took my money ….this is a very dope app Please fix ### 4/5 — Pretty good besides a few details. *2021-06-03, version 1.6.5* I downloaded this app to assist me with my writing as I am a teen screenwriter persuing a feature film. I was aware that I would have to pay to create more than one log, but I was taken a-back by dissatisfaction. Once I had filled out my first (and only) log with detail and character adjustments, I was met with a pop-up that was instructing me to pay in order to save the information and plotting. I didn’t pay for it because why would I? I was smart enough to screenshot my info and plotting before trying to save it, so I didn’t lose anything. But there may be someone who isn’t as mentally fortunate. Please save your information before exiting if you don’t have the money to pay to keep it. Overall great tools and useful structuring features. ### 4/5 — Great app (but with an irritating bug)! *2021-02-16, version 1.6.1* Almost everything about this app is exactly what I needed to collect all my thoughts and ideas for my story! The character and scene builders were worth buying, too! I do have an issue with this app, though, and it’s a bug concerning the save system. At times, it doesn’t seem to work; whenever I press save, leave, and come back, all the writing I put down since that time hasn’t registered, which can be absolutely frustrating if a lot of concepts have been jotted down, only for it to be gone because the save didn’t function as intended. I would greatly appreciate it if it’s fixed in the next update, or perhaps, even, to add an autosave system (where it saves whenever the script is exited, and/or the app is closed). Besides that glitch, I really love this app! Keep up the fantastic work, and I look forward to any and all updates in the future! 🍻 ### 4/5 — Leaving money on the table *2020-12-05* You guys have an excellent app. It's helped me structure out the last few scripts I've wrote, you guys are leaving money on the table though.... But the ads stay regardless. ### 3/5 — Beug Important *2020-09-05, version 1.5.7* J’adore cette application vraiment pratique, mais lorsque l’on travaille dessus, rien n’est plus frustrant que tout perdre à causes des beug ( alors que l’on sauvegarde ) J’attend vraiment des développeurs une solution à ce problème car cela rend l’application contre productive. ### 3/5 — Meh....Two complainants 😒 *2020-07-12* 1. Paying Why do we have to pay? It is unfair. I downloaded this app thinking, “wow, won’t it be fun to write a play?” But turns out I have to pay! 2. Logging in When I first opened the app I had to sign in with email or Facebook. I tried my email but it said my account does not exist, but it does! I was very frustrated, but in the end I tried a different email and it worked. Overall not a very good app. I suggest that you shouldn’t download it. ### 4/5 — So far so good *2020-06-03* The suggestions and writing tips for each section is amazing. I am planning out an online class script, and this took my one hour of content and tripled it. Great value for this growing niche. I haven’t experienced any data loss, even when it did crash once. What you write in the box sections is minimized/hidden upon reloading, which is scary until you click it. Good advice from another reviewer is to PDF export every session, always have a backup. Great, great idea and current implementation. Work on stability and I think this is a winner. Thanks Patrick! ### 2/5 — Amazing idea, but... *2020-04-27* The concept definitely gets five stars, but the issues brings it down. I’ve been having the same problem that most are having which is the saving issue which is beyond frustrating. So what I’ve been doing is, writing/filling in the info> copy what I wrote > Save>Save again>Go back>come back to what I just wrote to see if it saved (9x out of 10 it does not save)>Paste>Save>save again and that usually does the trick. But it is such a time waster. So, after I spend a couple of minutes to a few hours using the app and when I’m done, I immediately send myself a PDF via email. A new thing that started today is when I’m writing/filling in the info for example in the Characters Notes, I will start typing a key or two and the cursor will move to a different section like the title of the character in the middle of my typing. 🤬 I really hope they fix these issues because I like the app a lot and I want to love it but with the issues I just can’t. I’m afraid that if I continue using the app I will to throw my phone against the wall, and honestly it’s not my phones fault. 🥺 ### 4/5 — It‘s gut but... *2020-04-26, version 1.5.1* ...i‘ve bought the add on‘s but always when I would like to tap on scene for example it‘s grey and I can‘t interact ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD *2024-03-23* It’s basically pay to create. They want 0.99 for a character creator, and ANOTHER 0.99 for a scene builder?!? Never again. But I will say the overall creativity of the app (description wise) is fun. I know 0.99 isn’t a lot, but you can’t do practically anything! ### 1/5 — Great value. But doesn’t work *2023-12-25, version 1.6.5* This app doesn’t save anything except Acts and Characters. Yup, not save after you clicked save. Also charges to open simple features. ### 1/5 — Bonne idée, réalisation catastrophique *2022-08-24, version 1.6.5* Je modifie mon avis et ma note après avoir continué à utiliser cette application. L’export est une calamité. On ne peut que générer un pdf reprenant les informations qu’on a entrées (on aurait aimé du Markdown ou de l’OPML). Mais surtout, le contenu des scènes n’est pas exporté ! On se retrouve avec un document qui indique simplement « Act 1 scènes, Acte 2 scènes » à la fin du récapitulatif des informations. Avis d’origine : L’application est vraiment utile et apporte une grande aide à l’écriture d’un script. Même si elle est particulièrement orientée vers l’écriture cinématographique, elle reste très utilisable pour l’écriture théâtrale ou romanesque. La liste des questions oblige à s’interroger vraiment sur son scénario et pousse votre réflexion et votre créativité, c’est très bien, merci. Par contre, la programmation est un cauchemar ! Déjà, il est évident que l’application était originellement en anglais et qu’elle a été traduite par un sagouin… Un seul exemple : à l’enregistrement « Saving » a été traduit par « Economies » ! Mais l’autre vrai problème est le manque de stabilité. Il arrive très souvent qu’une fiche remplie à grand peine (contenu de la scène, avancement du scénario, extraits de dialogues) ne soit pas sauvegardée ! Au final, j’ai l’impression d’avoir payé pour obtenir les éléments d’un template que j’appliquerai dans une vraie app d’écriture comme Scrivener ou Ulysses. Don’t bother buying the ad ones ### 1/5 — Deleted my work! *2021-06-10* So I payed the extra $2 for the character and scene descriptions and spent about an hour outlining my first act. I saved my work and closed the app and then when I opened it again to continue I found that EVERYTHING WAS DELETED!!! I love this app because it is how I personally like to plan out my stories in the three Act structure. I love how each section helps you to organize your thoughts more. It’s very organized and not cluttered like o have found with other writing apps. I have used many writing apps over the years and this one is easiest to follow and work with. I only recommend this app if you enjoy writing outlines and planning everything before you start writing a novel, script or short story. It’s a great app for preparing scenes and scenarios for YouTube and in real life skits. But I just think the characters and scenes should be for free.
