You need the overpriced subscription to send even your own photos, view your chat history, see other people’s photos that they have shared with you, etc. Everything good is locked behind a ridiculous paywall. On my IPad, I have to tap directly on the words. If you want a five star review then you need to fix filtering. I need filter on ethnicity Be hidden from unverified accounts Be hidden from guys in relationships My filters should also stop people from seeing my account! I will not be renewing my account because Its ineffective and mostly busywork policing what I do get. Also, this app uses the usual trick of giving you a notification when you there is none. They treat someone looking at your profile as an alert! Ha Ha 😆 they did not pick you. The app has multiple ways to mass look at profiles as you swipe. Thats not notification substance. ### 4/5 — Please Keep Chat History *2026-08-14* Chats and photos shared on the chat should remain or kept in the chat. It’s always annoying to keep asking the face pics or names of people you have chatted to previously because they’ve disappeared or blocked out. In addition, all photos/videos in the albums received should be viewed freely… not just the first two photos. Thank you ### 2/5 — Needs to be better *2026-08-14, version 8.13.0* The reason for the two star rating is unlike a Grindr when you are on Grindr and you go off-line without logging out your profile disappears after 10 or 15 minutes so that others may see who’s online, with Scruff they stay online for weeks and months and the dot just stays orange and the grid does not refresh sometimes for weeks because the people don’t log out. So you just see the same people day after day in the exact same order, not really worth paying for at all. ### 4/5 — Minimal Ads *2026-08-14, version 8.13.0* There’s ads in start up that are mostly their sponsors and relevant content/ads. NONE of those games ads or bit coin ads or other out of place marketing. And it’s just once at start up then no more. If you don’t pay for the app you will begin to lose chat history the more you chat with someone on the app. Which is annoying when talking to face-less profile. (I can’t be expected to recall your face. Just but a face pic people.) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t Block without Paying/ Moments Need to Go *2026-08-24, version 8.13.1* Only having a limited amount of blocks without paying for more and then still a limit. That’s ridiculous when something is essential for someone’s safety, among other things. This isn’t supposed to be allowed by Apple, so I wonder how they can get away with it. Aside from that, it’s still better than Grindr for their free version, but putting greed over their users’ safety is 0 stars. Get rid of Moments. This isn’t Instagram or Snapchat. I don’t want to see random men’s members if I accidentally click on them and they take up space. Had a sensitive content warning which helped but now that’s gone. This app used to be the best for gay dating apps but makes me want it delete it now. Over my last decade of using this app, they have progressively made it more unusable to the point that there is no reason to actually have a conversation on the app. You have to PAY to see past messages in a conversation. If you chat too much, it’s suspicious (as if they think their app is so awful that they’re confused by active conversation.) You can only share an album with a certain number of people (so anyone closeted is out of luck) and you can only see a certain amount of PHOTOS in an album unless you pay.
