The biggest area of improvement needed is the dive planning section. Go to choose 80 cf tank and it will not take, keeps changing to 85. No problems. V clear and easy to reach info, and v precise. I love the map and gps function. Only slight problem is a limited range of dive type and equipment needs to be more generic. I feel like it’s pretty accurate with the data it’s collecting. So that part is great. But there are some missing elements for me specifically in the logbook area. So I will probably not use it other than to transfer that data to another logbook app. First, the slider for the air consumption is horrible. I can never get it to what my gauge actually read. Second, if you’re going to have gear set up in there, have more than 4 brands. Other than my Hollis neotek, nothing else I own was in there. So what’s the point? It would be nice too if it also grabbed the weather data for the day or I was able to input that. Under kind of dive, why is there no shore dive or boat dive, the type is very limited. It would also be nice if I could just easily choose whether it was a training dive/recreational/tech/etc dive as a dropdown. I like that it logs the time and date, but that should have its own section and not be the title. I like to name the dive but don’t want to lose that data. As I use this mostly as a back up, I would like to see that in the logbook section I can change my air type. I forgot to change to EANx32 prior to dive on this computer (I did set it on my main correctly) but now my logs are off and I can’t fix it. I get I should have put the right info in prior, but a logbook should be able to edit. If it were my paper logbook, I could edit it. If you want us to use your logbook, then it should be able to be edited. ### 5/5 — Great app but… *2026-08-04, version 4.0.4* Need to be able to add pictures into the dive log ### 5/5 — I think this might be better than a Suunto Eon Core! *2026-08-03, version 4.0.4* Let me address the title, for me, the brightness of the Apple Watch far exceeds anything that you can get on the eon core, so from a hardware perspective, this app far exceeds anything on a purpose-built dive computer. I love the simplicity that it offers, but showing all the important information. I think it’s great value for money if you purchase it monthly, and even though I appreciate the work that’s gone into the app. I think the 12 month subscription is a little bit overpriced. ### 5/5 — Great *2026-08-03, version 4.0.4* Works great as a dive computer with Apple Watch Ultra 2 ### 4/5 — Great app once it worked *2026-08-02, version 4.0.4* For anyone having problems with the app getting stuck during scuba dive pre-dive screen. I had that issue from the get go, the app would log the dive but never get past the pre-dive screen and the action button orange stripe on the bottom left was missing . The way I solved it was, I had to disable action button, set auto launch at depth to immediate, then completely uninstall Oceanic app from the phone and watch, then update both phone and watch to latest version (as of 8/1/26), reinstall phone app first, then watch app (click on install from both watch and phone’s watch App Store at the same time once the watch starts install), then ensure all the setup process is completed in the phone app. Then it all worked. This took me a LONG time to figure out, I tried just about every combination, and this worked. Hope it helps someone, but I hope even more that I’m an isolated case and that it just works for you. Once it works, it’s awesome! Makes my Apple Watch Ultta a worthy dive tool. NOTE: the pre-dive should be able to turn into a dive on the surface submerging the phone does not start a dive it just takes you to the main screen and water locks the phone. ### 5/5 — A++ *2026-08-02, version 4.0.4* Super app ### 3/5 — Great app, but poor logbook and missing key features *2026-08-02, version 4.0.4* I’ve used the app on 10 dives so far, and the usability is intuitive and easy. No fussing with buttons or menus, very modern, great screen readable and UI. Brings dive computers into the 2020s. This review will be a 5/5 when they make the logbook and dive planner useful, in addition to some extra functionality: 1) you need to be able to import old dives into. I will not use the logbook function otherwise even it would be more convenient than my current logbook app (Dive Log). Also, until you fix that, please make the export function easier. Let me export dive by dive and not just via email. Very inconvenient. Is the about ecosystem lock in? I’ll just avoid Oceanic products if that’s the case. And I accidentally deleted a few dives off my app. They’re still on the watch, but there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to get them back on the app, which is odd. 2) would be nice if there were more functionality. I was expecting more detailed weather and info on popular dive spots. 3) The map for dives doesn’t have a scale. What map doesn’t have a scale? I was trying to measure drifts dive entries and exits the other day - hard to do without a basic map feature called a scale. 4) I can’t find a written operator handbook online, just cursory video tutorials. Not good enough - I want to know more details on something my life depends on. For example, the safety stop appeared to come on early last dive. When exactly is is supposed to? Does it reset the countdown if I go back down? Won’t know until I try it underwater because these things don’t exist in the tutorial videos in that level of detail. The manual might exist. It’s just not in an obvious customer friendly spot right at the front page. Or it might not exist, and that’s not forgivable. 5) For tank settings, I almost left NITROX on instead of air the other day for an air dive. Is there no automatic warning for this to remind me what I’m set on? I’d hate to accidentally blow through my no deco and get DCI because a basic feature could have caught my error. And without a written manual, there’s no way to know if the warning exists other than accidentally do it and find out…and this tidbit does not show up in the video, so I guess not? **With these features added, I’ll happily make this a five star review. Je vais utiliser DIVEROUT. ### 1/5 — No undo delete *2026-08-16, version 4.0.4* I mistakenly deleted the wrong dive because I had one incorrectly logged dive due to the “automated dive” feature starting a dive prematurely. The dive still shows up on my watch but there is no way to resync it from the watch to the app. There’s also no undo delete option. If I reboot the phone and resync the watch then it will resync briefly, but it then deletes within a minute or two. As a developer, this is clearly just a flag that the app puts in the cloud to not sync that dive again. Allowing people to undo the deletion or storing it in a temporary cache on the device for “n” days is common sense. So now I have an entire dive missing from this app when this would have never happened from a dive computer. Please fix this! ### 1/5 — Vibrating Safety Stop Alarm Is a Buzz Kill *2026-07-23, version 4.0.4* Small annoyances like requiring “fit and ready to dive” acknowledgement. Major annoyance: Repeated safety stop alarm when repeatedly crossing 20’ depth. I’ve been using the watch and app as a backup computer, but I’m done with it. Fix that, and I’ll use it again. ### 1/5 — Dangerous & unreliable! *2026-07-13, version 4.0.3* Don’t use this as your main dive computer it doesn’t always work! ### 1/5 — Can’t connect to Apple Watch Ultra *2026-07-05, version 4.0.3* Have tried various troubleshooting steps. No error message. ### 1/5 — Watch app ok, iPhone app terrible *2026-06-08, version 4.0.2* The actual dive computer bit works well enough but does require fiddling with (such as pushing the action button) to start or finish a dive. I guess, ok, that’s a decision they made. If you don’t hit the action button, it’s supposed to end the dive after 5 minutes at the surface. But it doesn’t. It often drags on, showing a depth of 0’ for up to 20 minutes after a dive. It’s the iPhone companion software that is a hot mess. Firstly, there is zero documentation, only video tutorials that are lacking in detail and a FAQ that is grossly out of date. Here is just a sampling of issues: * On the Location Planner the weather is always laughably incorrect for my location. * On the Location Planner water temps appear incorrect for my location as well. If appears to be due to the assumption of a “geo fence” of 50 miles or so around a point. That works for oceans, not really for local lakes and rivers. * Under Dive Settings the air pressure sliders don’t match displayed amounts. * The times in the Dynamic Island often out of sync with the app and watch. * On the Share Screen the “minimum temperature” appears to be the average temperature. * On my last dive it showed the entry point 2 miles off. The exit point is useless as one never knows when it will end the dive. I’ve had my exit point be the local dive shop 🤣. * The ascent rate seems to always be abnormally high at the end of the dive (last 3’). It seems to be picking up me raising up my arm at the end of the ascent. All my dives show >100 ft/min ascent rates when that just wasn’t the case. There are no user forums or anything and Oceanic/Huish is completely unresponsive to bug reports. Basically you have no support once you buy in. There’s a ton of potential here. I love the haptics and the big giant alerts that anyone close can see. And the Apple Health integration is nice for those of us that use it but it’s just not enough to recommend this app. I’ve relegated this to a “backup” role as I needed to get something I could trust (a Shearwater). I really want this product to succeed, I do, but I don’t get the sense that Oceanic cares one way or the other. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-05-25, version 4.0.2* Completely useless. Wasted about 5 hours trying to get the account to sync to the watch. Paid the subscription but could not use it even once as the account simply would sync to the watch. The one dive I performed was stuck in snorkelling mode as a result so it did not calculate decompression stops. Total waste of money. Extremely disappointed. I want a refund. ### 1/5 — This app will kill you *2026-05-18, version 4.0.2* If you slip below the maximum depth of the app it locks up and will not help you finish the dive. Then stays locked out for three days. It also doesn’t give a lot of info or restart on the next dive. you have to go out of dive mode then back in Save the $85 and put it towards a real dive computer. ### 1/5 — Snorkeling? *2026-05-16, version 4.0.2* This was a great dive app until earlier this week. It now has a snorkeling mode, which starts tracking when I get into any body of water (incl pools and hot tubs). There seems to be no way to turn this off other than to start or renew a paid subscription. This is a really dumb and annoying update that will cause me to delete the app until I need it again or find a better solution. None of your users are using this app to snorkel… bad idea. ### 1/5 — BUG automatic color correction *2026-05-16, version 4.0.2* After the latest Oceanic+ update 4.0.2 installed 3 days ago, I started having a serious issue with the automatic underwater color correction on my iPhone 17 Pro. HDR video is OFF and I did not change any camera settings before the issue started. The original video footage looks normal before correction. However, after pressing the automatic correction button, the image becomes extremely dark with crushed shadows and excessive contrast.
