I am waiting for this to ship but wanted to look at App. Hope this is not how the printer works not a fan of throwing away money. This is upsetting. Can’t connect to the sight they ask you to set up too. I already have an account with Thingiverse and it will not connect. Can’t see anything else that this printer can do. The website is not that special. I may just ask to cancel order this is not cool ### 1/5 — Loads and loads of wait time *2020-07-25, version 3.2.0* The idea and premise to the design is great, and set-up well, however; it is god-awful in its execution. There has been a terrible amount of waiting as the screens have to load every single time you switch between one app or the other. ### 1/5 — I have had landline connections that worked better *2020-07-25, version 3.2.0* Alright - so I bought the Sculpto 3D printer on an insane sale (it was $99 ) And my husband and I were stoked because we have been wanting a 3D printer but they are stupid expensive. I guess that should have been my first clue I honestly cannot even tell you if the 3D printer itself is actually good or if it actually works because I cannot actually get the app to function properly. It took me about an hour to make an account. Then it refused to let me log in to the second site it demands you log into. In my honest opinion if you are considering buying this product just download the app before spending the money. If you cannot get the app to work consistently do not even bother buying the 3D printer. I would rather call a fax machine and let it scream in my ear than fight with this app and as of right now my 3D printer is being returned and I will never buy this product again unless magically the application support comes into play. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. Connection issues. *2020-07-25, version 3.2.0* I bought this printer to get into the hobby. This printer first connect no issues. After 1 print we can’t get the app to work and it flashes yellow. The app does not display anything like it’s not responding. The WiFi does work because everything else in my house is working. I think the app or website needs a update. I will change my stars if this gets fixed. ### 1/5 — Thingiverse *2020-07-24, version 3.2.0* Really hate having to run from room to room to use it because I can’t log into thingiverse from the app. Fix it and I’ll definitely go up in stars but right now the core reason I purchased this specific model isn’t working. Kind of want to return it. Edit: Support immediately fixed my issue and it works perfectly now. Edit: App won’t do anything now. Back to issues and connection problems. Yes, I created an account via my laptop first as instructed but that certainly did no good. How in the world is anyone supposed to be able to actually USE the printer, if the only way to do so is via this absolutely horrific app?!?! Now I have to use 2 devices my phone to set up the printer then my laptop to print things. And the app won’t send print files to the printer or the queue. The app shows I have files in the queue but won’t actually send the queue to the printer. Don’t waste your time. I downloaded all files from Thingaverse which this App required. Reddit users have had the same issue with prints they have already used before. ### 1/5 — Software *2023-02-22* 100% of their problems could be fixed with an update and adding a few features that they refuse to do for some reason ### 1/5 — App problems after iOS 15.6 installed *2022-08-08, version 3.4.4* The upload file, edit preview is broken after the update was installed. I’ll click on an item and it just gives me the same blank screen every time. I haven’t even received the Sculpto printer yet and now I’m super worried it was a waste of money because of the app being such a pain already. Hoping it prints okay. Took forever to get the app connected to the printer, and when I couldn’t get the filament to feed into the printer, the FAQ says to reset by turning the printer off. But then, I was locked out of the app. Now, I can’t even log back into the app, or create a new account. I’m over this app and the printer. I can sign in to Thingiverse no problem, but when the app tries.....nada. It hangs forever. So get this fixed and I will consider changing this review/ rating. ### 1/5 — Well it’s nice if you want a paper weight *2020-07-28, version 3.2.0* I’ve been trying to get it to take the filament and it just won’t can’t open the access panel to see if there’s anything wrong because they have the screws on so tight you need some sort of power tool to open it. Well at least I know now, I’m glad I got it on sale so I’m only out $100. While waiting for the printer I had issues for a week trying to log into thingiverse. I emailed the Sculpto Support team Friday afternoon, Saturday I sent them the requested information, and first thing Monday morning they had my issue resolved. Seems like a great app so far. ### 4/5 — Could Use some work, but manageable *2020-12-18, version 3.2.2* It’s not THAT bad. Just requires a lot of patience. Hardware seems very out of the box and go, but software isn’t quite that way yet. However after learning my way around the bugs and whatnot, it’s easy to use. ### 4/5 — Works but needs detailed tutorial *2020-11-02, version 3.2.2* The only challenging part of this plug and play printer is the WiFi setup. It must be over a 2.4gHz connection and more importantly and NOT documented is it doesn’t use the highest security connection. Uses WPA or lower/none iirc? I found this detail on a YouTube comment on one of their non setup vids! If you don’t have access to edit your internet connection if needed this is a cheap accent piece. In regards to printing I would upload atlas files directly to the printer. It can use thingiverse to get models but sadly that giant database is poorly optimized that its a running joke. Sadly Sculpto doesn’t display all the info on said thingiverse pages such as remixes. Use a thingiverse viewer like 3dgeeks to get files to print or avoid thingi altogether. You can print from the app or from your printers WiFi page. Get the link from sculpto faq page footer. To print gcode files you must use that printer website. Using gcode also..voids your warranty. Remember this is geared to novices who might not know how to slice. Happy printing and check out the 3D printing reddit or discord for help and tips ### 4/5 — Nice printer, nice app *2020-03-10, version 3.0.10* This app is the required interface to the Sculpto line of 3D printers. The app is easy to use and works well. You can pick items to print from thingiverse (account required, I believe), or design your own with software (I use Fusion 360) that can save in stl format. Once saved the file can be uploaded to the Sculpto cloud server and printed. This printer/app combination is mainly for casual or hobbiest use, not hardcore 3D printing. But within the constraints of the printer (a not large print volume and PLA only filament), it is capable of some nice work. ### 2/5 — This thing is a pain to connect to the internet *2021-07-01, version 3.4.1* Almost every time I try to print something I need to stop it or turn it off, and when you turn it off you need to reconnect it to the internet and 99% of the time it takes at least half an hour or more and half the time I give up ### 2/5 — No connection. *2020-06-27, version 3.2.0* After fighting with App to connect to printer. I can’t get past the thingiverse login. Says the app isn’t responding in time.
