I was pleasantly surprised to find it still up and running after all these years. I still had the same, if not more fun, playing it this time. A lot of people might find it repetitive or slow, but I genuinely can't think of any other game that I have been more dedicated in playing. I love the open world style exploration, and every island has its own personality and quirks. Even the townspeople all have their own story going on if you interact with them. I will happily pay for a great game, and have done so many times, but this micro transaction trash, entirely designed to nickel and dime you out of way more than you would ever pay if you paid the full price for a game to start with, is not worth your time. If you really want to throw away your money, just sit in front of your toilet, toss a dollar bill in, flush it, watch it swirl down the drain, then repeat. ### 1/5 — The Archeon key disappeared! *2025-06-18, version 2.3.1* I found the Archeon key, but it immediately disappeared from my inventory, and I can't refind it or progress in the game now! I redug all the dirt mounds several times in hopes that the task and key would reset, but the task of finding the key is showing as completed, and it keeps telling me to give the key to Dr. Cornelius, but it's not in my inventory, so I can't! I loved this game at first, but HOLY **** have I never played a game with this slow of a gameplay before. I’m not even kidding when I say that I played this game for two months and barely made any progress on my island and I’m STILL unlocking new mechanics like THE CAMERA. These are BASIC tools and I’m still unlocking them TWO MONTHS into the game?! Alongside a new portion of the map after so much time has already passed? I have repeatedly wanted to delete this game because it became so boring and repetitive, but I made the mistake of buying $8 worth of pearls, so I want to get my money’s worth of a game, but wow I’m not getting anywhere NEAR that. Slow story, painfully slow progress, but what *really* made me want to write this review, is that they FORCE you to spend your pearls. The mission to repair a bridge asks for an item that used to be so common, I’d toss them away if I ever got any, but now? The minigame to earn that item doesn’t show up anymore until AFTER I use up all my minigame plays, so the only way to get the item is by using pearls to get more minigame plays to earn the CHANCE of getting the item. Like, are you kidding me? The challenges and adventures are fun, and the storytelling keeps you engaged. I’d recommend this to anyone.
