Buoys, Lights, Bridges, Depth Contours, Depth Soundings, Rocks, Anchorage areas, NOAA Weather Buoys etc. are all selectable and have real time distance, bearing and detail information. Turn off layers to de-clutter the display and only show what is important at the time. Tides, moon and sun times and weather are also all available at your fingertips. SeaNav’s unique AR view mode allows you to view buoys, lights, ships, waypoints and track overlaid on your iPhone or iPad live camera view. With "AR LockOn" you can select a target on the chart and then be guided to it in the AR camera view. SeaNav lets you measure distances and bearings and record waypoints on routes. When at sea, the app’s Sailing HUD shows your position, Course over ground (COG), Speed over ground (SOG), Vector Made Good (VMG), Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Distance and bearing to next Waypoint. Waypoint reached alerts, auto-routing to the next waypoint and collision alerts. SeaNav comes with a free Apple Watch companion app . Lowrance, Simrad and B&G GoFree support included. That lets me do heavy-duty nav/piloting in the iOS/WiFi universe rather than in some manufacturer's proprietary OS universe and the nichey, expensive, specialized marine networking universe. ### 4/5 — Removing ‘Crashes on open’ comment *2025-06-26* SeaNav has always worked well for me but recently after updating my subscription it crashed on open for about 2 days on my iPhone 16. A reboot and reinstall did not help. However after this time the app works again. Upgrading review to 4 star but suggest not changing subscription during a stormy day out sailing. **Developer response:** We are glad to hear SeaNav is working ok again for you now. Apple had an issue with their AppStore which was affecting a lot of Apps In App Purchases. You can download a free version of SeaNav without US charts and try out all its features including charts for the San Francisco Bay Area. There is an In App Purchase to get more charts for the whole of the US and other areas. https://apps.apple.com/app/seanav/id857841271 SeaNav US is the same app as SeaNav but is a paid for version which includes charts for the whole of the US up front. If you want a refund for the US version please contact the AppStore directly as they handle all the financial side of things. They are usually very helpful and quick to respond.
