This came up I looked for, some indication of a price. Nothing showed. After putting in all the info about me they finallily offered subscription pricing. There was not even a free look. Wasted my time! ### 1/5 — No way to export trip data *2026-03-02, version 3.1.0* This app is happy to import trip data from other logging services and software, but it does not return the courtesy. There is no way to export from SeaPeople so if you track with this app, you will forever be subject to its terms and fees. ### 1/5 — Nascent App has issues w/ spam & safety *2025-07-19, version 2.0.2* As a woman sailor on this app, I have been getting more spam and unsolicited dating requests. One user I blocked subsequently messaged me to ask why I blocked them. There is currently little way for the app to combat spam, stalking, and unsolicited DMs like on an app like Instagram. It’s ruining the experience and frustrating that there appears to be nowhere to report on safety or spam. Add that the app wants to know my location at all times (yes you can turn off location sharing, but the app will constantly remind you to turn it back on). This resulted in a potential security breech for me as I turned on the app to check a message and the app immediately identified my location on a job where I needed security clearance. Not to mention the potential for stalkers and other bad actors to use this information maliciously. The app needs better security management. Adding: The app really really really wants to track you all the time and will remind you that tracking is turned off and suggest that tracking is turned on EVERY TIME YOU LOGIN. On top of that, I’ve started getting nuisance notifications from the app over the past week for people adding posts in certain groups despite only selecting notifications for DMs. The rating on this app, from what I’ve seen from damage control threads and word from other users, is not organic, does not reflect reality, and is artificially inflated to promote use. This app lacks basic safety and I would caution against its use. ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2025-07-05, version 2.0.2* Downloaded app and filled out info. Says there is already an account under my email. Not possible Even tried the forgot password and the app never sent me an email. ### 1/5 — Pointless Social Tool *2024-12-30, version 1.0.4* Buggy and limited social tool that literally provides nothing for the boating community. Good for about 5 mins until you realise that other apps for example like NOFOREIGNLAND are profoundly better and actually provide better communication tools, maps with information that boaters need and a stable platform. Just a glossy app being sold by a YT Sailing channel. There’s potential there, but the community is trash - just a bunch of spoilt hedonists, patting each other on the back for their hollow awesomeness. When I zoom out I lose the location of someone I track. Every user profile, comment, post, and group includes ‘Report’ and/or ‘Block’ options, which we monitor closely. We take swift and regular action when issues are flagged, and our goal is to make the platform safe and welcoming for everyone. We also provide flexible options for location sharing, so you’re always in control. Whether you want to be totally hidden, pinned in place, or share your live location (like AIS) for safety while underway—it’s all up to you. We encourage you to explore these settings based on your current boating needs. As we’re just 6 months post-launch, we know there’s still work to do. We’re actively building out automated spam detection and other tools to stay ahead of bad actors. Your feedback helps shape what we prioritize, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share it. This app has it all and is so intuitive. Cool finde ich auch, dass die KI die Inhalte Zusammenfasst und Empfehlungen gibt, statt dass man selbst alles raussuchen muss. Aus meiner Sicht gerade für Segler und Boots-Urlauber super. Für Fischer und Taucher fehlen noch ein paar Infos. Hoffe das kommt noch.
