## What is Seasonside?

Seasonside is a community app for one place: San Pedro, California.

It exists to make one thing easy: finding, joining, and hosting recurring hobby groups with your neighbors. A book club that meets monthly. A walking group on Saturday mornings. A game night that becomes a tradition. Not one-off events with strangers you'll never see again, but the kind of regular gathering where familiar faces slowly become friends.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Groups: Browse sixteen interest communities, from readers and outdoors to food, games, parents, and pets. Join a drop-in club anytime, or commit to a season club, a small group that meets together through a real calendar season (spring, summer, fall, or winter), then wraps up and decides what's next.

Events: See what's coming up across San Pedro, RSVP in two taps, and get a reminder before it starts. Open events welcome anyone in the neighborhood.

Plaza: The town square. Local happenings, things neighbors are giving away, questions for the neighborhood, and local businesses.

Chats: Group conversations and direct messages with the people you actually meet. No follower counts, no public performance.

Shelf: Your personal record of life in San Pedro. Collections, local challenges like the San Pedro Starter Pack, and the small mementos of a season well spent.

Hosting: Anyone can host. Seasonside handles the RSVPs, the reminders, and the scheduling, so being the person who brings people together stops feeling like a second job.

WHAT SEASONSIDE IS NOT

Not a dating app. That's a structural rule, not a suggestion. No algorithmic feed deciding what you see. No streaks, no engagement bait, no pressure to open the app daily. If you come twice a week and make it to one gathering a month, that's success. The point of Seasonside is what happens off your phone.

STARTING IN SAN PEDRO

Seasonside opens one neighborhood at a time, and San Pedro (zip codes 90731 and 90732) is first. If you live somewhere else, you can't join yet. We'd rather do one town well than every town thinly. Local means local.

Seasonside is free to join. Join during our first season and you'll carry a Founding Member badge for as long as the app exists.

Friendship, in season.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-06

Links open where they should. A shared event or group link now opens the app on that event or group, even when the app was closed. If you're signed out, it waits until you've signed in.

Pick up where you left off. Setting up your account and stepped away? Your answers are kept, and the app opens on the step you were on.

Times where the event is. Event times now always show in the event's own time zone, with your local time alongside if you're somewhere else.

Invite friends from the event. Tap Invite, add a note, and pick people or a group. They get your note and the event in your chat with them.

Clearer when the connection drops. If the app can't reach Seasonside, it says so and offers to try again, instead of a misleading message about your password.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-25

What's New in 1.3

For organizations: If you run a page for a studio, a nonprofit, or a shop, you can now invite someone to help run it with you. Share a link from Manage.

Events on your page can repeat now: every Saturday, the first Thursday of the month. And you can pin one event to the top of your page so people see it first.

Add any event to your phone's calendar with one tap. If a group you're in wants to go to something an organization is hosting, "Bring your group" makes it an outing on your group's calendar, with its own headcount. Hosts get a heads-up when someone RSVPs.

Plus a fix for the app looking empty for a moment after it's been in the background a while.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-19

Organizations can now post one-off events like an opening, a fair, or a fundraiser, and anyone can RSVP.
RSVP straight from a shared link, even before your account is fully set up.
Event and venue pages now name the host, so you can see who's running things.
Also: sign out from the terms screen, cancelled events no longer appear as your next event, and assorted wording fixes.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-03

Sign in with Apple or Google, alongside email.
Organizations can now create a page, list their venues, host groups and events, and send announcements to followers.
Season groups show a clearer recruiting window and let you know when your cohort reaches its minimum.
Filters on the Local events list, and group invitations from the Plaza.
Fixes for keyboard and bottom-sheet layout on smaller screens.
