It estimated me 6-8 and ended up costing 15 bucks for a short trip ### 4/5 — add tip later option *2026-01-09, version 1.17.0* this is my 1st time using the service and app. the app is good for most part. the receipts could show more fare breakdown re tip option: i accidentally closed the tip window after my trip and lost the oppty to tip my driver. i should be able to go back to the fare and add a tip later. ### 3/5 — Can’t tip half the time! *2025-10-13, version 1.17.0* I take Yellow cab twice a week or so, Seattle to Bellevue. You can ONLY tip the drivers if the window pops up. Half the time I can rate the driver but the tip option never appears. And you can’t tip a ride that’s already happened without that window. I feel bad for all the drivers who’ve had to haul me out there in traffic and didn’t get a tip from me. Please fix that and allow customers to tip when they want to!! ### 2/5 — Broken location tracking & underestimated wait times *2025-09-29, version 1.17.0* The wait times are significantly underestimated and the driver location does not update once they are assigned. The app stated 3 min pickup time, then changed to 6 minutes after several minutes of finding a driver. 8 minutes later the driver’s location and arrival time haven’t changed. I tried calling and no one answered, so I cancelled. I’ve had several similar experiences. The customer support email in the app bounced my email as undeliverable so I’m writing this review. ### 4/5 — Drivers great. I booked a ride—it said the driver was 5 minutes away. For over 10 minutes I watched the cab sit in the same place, not moving. The app doesn’t give you any way to contact the driver. Usually about 29.00 to 32.00 dollars to get home from Fred hutch. TARIKU cost us $49.25 over charge ### 1/5 — Deceptive *2026-05-20, version 1.17.0* Jfc let your drivers use Google Maps instead of whatever mickey mouse routing app they’re on now. EVERY TIME it takes a wildly indirect route just to jack up the meter. Driver didn’t follow the route given in the app so it made the trip longer and the Meter just kept on getting higher. It also said 3 min for pick up but was much longer. Disappointing, I was hoping for a more cost effective alternative to uber but after this experience I’m not sure I’ll want to use yellow cab again. Uber is ridiculously expensive but at least they’re mostly reliable. ### 1/5 — Never show up on time *2025-09-30, version 1.17.0* I stopped using yellow cab a few years ago when I repeatedly couldn’t get a cab to show up after I’d book it hours in advance. I decided to try it again last week and nothings changed. First they were 10 minutes late, then said the cab was here, it was not and when I called they said he got a flat tire. I was late to my function. The only reason cabs are even still in business is because they are subsidized by the government. No pressure to innovate or improve. ### 1/5 — Waste *2025-09-27, version 1.17.0* This app said there was a driver 4 minutes away, so I cancelled my Lyft and booked a cab. Once i booked, then it said it was searching for a driver… for like 5 minutes. I gave up and cancelled. ### 1/5 — Scammed - no way to reach customer service *2025-09-08, version 1.17.0* TLDR; very deceptive cost estimates. Uber or Lyft would’ve been cheaper. Long version: The app estimated $37 for the trip, the app pre authorized $43, the trip counter during the drive showed ~$35, the final charge on my credit card was ~$46. No good phone number to reach customer service to rectify this poor experience. I tried this app out to see how it’d compete against uber and Lyft. Will never use it again. While it’s just an $11 delta, the lack of transparency in the cost of the trip throughout my experience is worrisome. Ended up also wasting $10 which is what it would’ve cost me to uber. ### 1/5 — One star rating because zero is not an option *2025-08-09, version 1.16.0* I am so so disappointed with Seattle Yellow Cab. I really thought this was a great alternative to the hail riding options - less expensive, courteous, and fair. Any one can be wrong! This is the second time in a month that I have been over charged. I noticed that the receipt did not equal the amount deducted from my card. When I looked at the details, there was no explanation for the difference. The ride fare and tip were correct, yet the amount that I was billed was greater. First, the email in the app is wrong. You cannot connect via email with the email in the app. After finally finding a way to connect with someone, I was told I was charged a waiting fee (50% of the ride fare) for waiting. We were waiting on the corner for the driver when they pulled up to us. He was not waiting for us anywhere. We have a witness as we were talking with a friend when the cab pulled up. I explained this to the service department. They didn’t want to hear it. This is classic up-charging. I do not trust the app any longer from a security setting, I am not sure they are PCI compliant, and I do not trust the firm anymore from an integrity perspective. Do not use Seattle Yellow Cab when traveling to Seattle. Avoid them at all costs! ### 1/5 — no show *2025-05-09, version 1.14.0* Never showed up/took uber ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2025-03-15, version 1.13.0* March 14, 2025 booked via online app for a ride twice and both were cancelled after I waited over 1.5 hours. I called and got the rudest driver who immediately stated he didn’t want to drive me. Then chastised me for not having a car. My car is getting repaired. Yellow Cab withdrew money from my account prior to my cab arriving. When I inquire if my trip would be paid for by the withdrawal made some 45 minute’s previously. Cab driver, Ali, drove off the road to the shoulder and stopped. He demanded I pay by cash/card. I had cash in my hand and showed him it. I don’t know if I will ever get the money they took from bank but I put stop payment already. I tried for over 8 hours to call every number available to file a complaint against angry driver’s treatment of an elderly female. Couldn’t get any response. Tried to delete my account and it wouldn’t respond on the website. I had similar problems booking on this application three weeks ago. I don’t think their problems are just a “one bad day” occurrence. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Picture me and my wheelchair happy to be able to go where I want! *2026-08-15, version 1.17.0* I’m normally able to do what I want and go where I want but since an unexpected fall and surgery, I’m in a wheelchair far away from home. Elias and your Yellow Cab were bright spots this morning because he took me to church, which was so amazing to be doing what I love to do. Elias was careful and considerate and I really enjoyed the ride. Thank you, Yellow Cab! I always schedule ahead of time on the app— and drivers always show up early (which is great). Very nice drivers— and very efficient.
