## What is Sebak?

A sebak is the daily lesson a teacher gives. Sebak brings that tradition to your phone: a few verses of the Quran each day, heard, understood and recited aloud.

LEARN THE QURAN ONE SEBAK AT A TIME
The path follows the traditional Quran course: Al-Fatiha, the short surahs read in prayer, then Ayat al-Kursi. Each sebak takes a few minutes, and a quiet daily reminder keeps you coming back.

HEAR, UNDERSTAND, RECITE
- Listen: a clear murattal recitation by Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, verse by verse.
- Understand: the translation of the meanings sits under every verse.
- Recite: tap the microphone and recite aloud. The listening teacher compares your recitation with the text and marks the words to try again.
- Check: short questions that hide one word of a translation or ask you to match the verses.
- Seal: finish the sebak, keep your streak and write a note for yourself.

EVERY WORD FROM A NAMED SOURCE
- The Arabic text of every verse is the Tanzil Uthmani text, taken without changing a single letter.
- Every translation of the meanings is quoted exactly as published on QuranEnc.com, with its translator and version.
- We never summarise, simplify or interpret the Quran ourselves, and no AI writes a single word of it.
- The source is written under each line, so you always know where it comes from.

YOUR VOICE STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
The listening teacher works on your device, even offline. Your recitation is never uploaded, and your notes stay on your phone.

MADE FOR BEGINNERS
Coloured letters show each Arabic letter with its marks in its own colour, so you can see where every letter begins. Tap a word to hear it again.

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Sebak speaks 55 languages, each with its own translation of the meanings, among them English, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, Persian, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Bosnian, Albanian, Swahili, Hausa, Somali, Chinese and Japanese.

A HOME SCREEN WIDGET
Today's sebak, the surah and its verses, waits on your home screen in ivory lace on black velvet.

Read the whole Quran in the Read tab, at your own pace, and pick up where you left off.

Sebak is prepared in the way of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, and its sources were chosen with that care. If you ever find a mistake, tell us and we will check it against the source.
