Second Take helps new managers prepare for difficult workplace conversations. Step into a fictional situation, choose how to respond, and read the reply. Review useful feedback, rewind a moment, and try another approach before the real conversation.

PRACTICE THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER
Explore 40 guided lessons, from everyday tensions to conversations that need more care:
• Give clear feedback after a missed deadline.
• Set after-hours boundaries and clarify what your team can expect.
• Say no to extra work while offering a realistic next step.
• Delegate clearly and agree on ownership, handoffs, and expectations.
• Work through disagreement, competing priorities, and unclear feedback.
• Own a mistake or repair a conversation that landed badly.

• Practice hiring debriefs and managing other managers.

LEARN BY TRYING ANOTHER TAKE
Each lesson has six conversational decisions with guided response choices. Read the reply, finish a take, and review what helped and one thing to try. Explore observations about specificity, curiosity, boundaries, and next steps. Rewind to a chosen moment, keep the earlier conversation, and compare up to eight takes in a session.

WALK IN WITH A PLAN
Every lesson includes a learning guide with a useful distinction, a common trap, sample wording, and a small experiment. Save your own prep card with an opening, a question, and the next step you want to agree on. Edit, copy, or share the wording when you choose.

BUILD YOUR SKILLS ONE LESSON AT A TIME
Start with the essentials and finish each lesson to unlock the next. Revisit completed lessons, search for a situation or topic, or resume an unfinished session. Keep useful learning material in Bookmarks and revisit saved takes and prep cards through Practice history.

PRACTICE ON IPHONE AND IPAD
No account is required. Guided lessons and learning guides are included in the app. Rehearsals and prep cards are stored on your device, with retention and deletion controls. Restoring a purchase restores library access, not rehearsal history. Deleting the app removes locally stored history.

Second Take uses fictional situations and authored dialogue for educational practice. It does not predict how a real colleague will respond or assess your professional ability.
