App begins with a door slam, with a narrow opening based on a preposterous 'free trial' hoping you forget it's the start of a $50/month subscription. Get tossed. ### 1/5 — Stupidly expensive for a very basic app *2024-07-05, version 1.5.1* The one good thing is the floor plants look quite clean but there is very dismal editing capability you cannot add custom symbols. You cannot see what the area is of a room and west of all it’s all in imperial my God what century are we living in? ### 2/5 — Subpar is a great word *2024-04-16* I have been using lidar apps for a while now. So far, there is nothing perfect in the market, and I do understand the limitations of translating the data so it won’t be ambivalent. Saying that, this app 2nd floor has a long way to go. The subscription plans compared to what you are really getting are far fetched from reality. The app kept crashing on me after a scan when I tried rotating the output. So far, and yet not perfect is Polycam that I have been using as my main app for scans. It is also far from being perfect for for construction initial estimating it’s not bad at all. ### 1/5 — No shower symbol, no living room label… *2024-03-18, version 1.5.1* I had high hopes that this would be a worthy contender vs CubiCasa, but unfortunately it falls down in a number of aspects. It appears that each floor of the house requires a separate scan, although this is unclear as there are no instructions on this. The app tends to glitch on more complex corners, which requires manual editing to remove the oddly-angled wall fragments and the add the actual walls. There is no label for living room, which means adding via the custom label. This should be an easy fix. Would be great if users could add their own labels to the library, rather than typing each time. There is no icon for a shower, so despite the other small failings, this is completely unusable for business purposes where speed and accuracy are required. Only tested on a small apartment, so unsure how it would perform on a big property. If these things could be fixed it may be a usable alternative to CubiCasa. ### 5/5 — The best Floorplan app I’ve ever used, period! *2023-01-28* Second Floor App helps our Real Estate Media company to serve our clients better. Highly recommended. Easy to use, instant report, can be edited if needed. Compare to what’s available out there in the market, by far , the best. Accuracy is great, no need to await 24-48 hrs for the floorplan and it’s subscription based model financially makes more sense compared to pay per scan competitors offers if you are doing it a lot. ### 5/5 — Best bang for the buck, use whenever you need it *2023-01-28* I’ve been using SecondFloor for a couple months to do floorplans for real estate. It’s simple to use and I love the immediate feedback while I’m scanning to help me make sure I don’t miss a room. Plus the floorplan is generated almost immediately. I was even able to quickly model up a bathroom floorplan for my wife (interior designer) while stopping with her at a job so she could use it as a quick reference later when quoting a remodel for her client. There are so many uses if you are trying to measure an interior space. And since you don’t need to pay per floorplan, it’s a no brainer to use it whenever you need it. I found it really easy to use. I was able to complete the layout of my 1100sq ft home in about five minutes. I then could go back and label the room and such as needed. I did miss a room, but the app allowed me to update the floor plan by adding this in after the fact.
