I gave 3 stars because I love this game, but this port just misses the mark. It’s super choppy and they didn’t do any favors to the smoothness of the animation. I played it for a few minutes and put it aside. It does have controller support, but trying to aim up or down with an analog stick is pointless. Playing on a 15 pro max with backbone and it still feels lackluster. Ran better on the SNES. ### 3/5 — Bring this to Apple TV *2025-04-23, version 3.3.0* This is a solid port of the Secret of Mana made for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Though I’m sure the on screen controls are adequate, I find prefer utilizing a Bluetooth controller and in so doing very much enjoy it. The biggest sin here is that this excellent game has not been ported over to Apple TV platform yet. With every passing year that gets more and more frustrating. I would love, love, LOVE to have a iCloud sync of saves between devices on the road (iOS) and at home (tvOS). Don’t even come at me with AirPlay, that’s a TERRIBLE experience. Do us a solid square Enix developers, and make this happen for not just this game, but the majority of your games where possible. ### 3/5 — Keeps Crashing at Fortress *2025-01-17, version 3.3.0* Made it all the way to the mana fortress, but I can’t get through bc it keeps crashing. Fix it please ### 1/5 — This old app is got to go and start bringing in the new 3D one *2021-08-18, version 3.3.0* As much it really pains me to rate just 1 star to this app game, but I can honestly say that I really don't like old script of this story very much. The graphics are too blurry as its making my head dizzy everywhere I go. I cannot even change directions while dashing, and the power meter just went down to 0% in the instant as I let go of the dash button. I get miffed by the time my charge strike got interrupted by enemy's attack easily, especially when I unleashed it. And the color of the world map is just too warm as sunset, which doesn't match the color of the blue sky. Since now that Trials of Mana is available on mobile, why not include Secret of Mana 3D port on mobile as well and replace this old version with it? Adventures of Mana, Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana, all three games in one collection would be a perfect 3D Mana Trilogy on mobile that way. Although I may have unfortunately bought this game before the time when 3D was released, but at least I can comment my review in hoping for the better replacement. There is no rush, but do think this over. ### 1/5 — 残念の一言、、 *2021-07-20* 子供の頃に夢中になったあの感動を、と思いワクワクしながら購入しました。 スマホなんで操作性には期待していませんでしたが、それ以上にガッカリしたのはゲームバランス。 1、ザコ敵の回避率が異様に高くなってるのに、タメ時間はオリジナルから変更無しなんで、レベル上げや道中のイライラ蓄積が半端ないです。 2、こちらの攻撃がだいたい回避されるんで、時間のかかるチャージ攻撃を使う意味がないです。 3、武器屋で装備買った時にそのまま装備変更できたオリジナル版のシステムが無くなっており、どう考えても改悪です。 4、宿屋で泊まった時に毎回発生する会話を省略できないので煩わしいです。 5、オリジナルと違い主人公が下手に喋るんで、なんかゲンナリします。 当初はスマホの操作性だからと自分を納得させてましたが、途中で納得できずにPSP版を購入してやりました。 結果、操作性の問題ではなく、グラフィック、音源の改善を差し引いて余りある残念な改悪だという結論です。 聖剣伝説3リメイクは素晴らしいのに何故？という気持ちでいっぱいです。 ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Bring more nostalgia! 7th saga *2026-07-04, version 3.3.0* This game is a classic, and I have a working snes and the games to go with it! And I tell you, if there are other complainers about the game, this as an app is so much more convenient to play than trying to plug in the bulky snes intones TVs that don’t have the older connections anymore. Please bring one of the hardest RPG’s for the super nes to the App Store, 7th saga! This level grinding game with good replay value with the different character types would be perfect as an app on the App Store!
