Works great for encrypting/decrypting mail, attachments, clipboard contents and text msgs.

Never crashed once in 5 years of use.

Only complaint is you can't generate keys, but have to create elsewhere and import them.

I've been using this client for years now without issue on both my phone and tablet. It works well and is a God send when I'm out and about. 

It would be nice to see it update to support the multitasking in iOS now - as using it side by side with outlook would be useful.

Mit dieser Anwendung lassen sich die auf dem Desktop-PC verwendeten Schlüssel problemlos per Email importieren (geht wohl auch über Dropbox), sodass der Aufwand minimal ist. Emails und Anhänge lassen sich problemlos ver- und entschlüsseln. Am besten wäre es natürlich, wenn das Programm direkt wie ein Mailprogramm die Emails abrufen könnte, sodass deren Import ins Programm wegfallen könnte. Trotzdem, das Programm ist zwar teuer, aber es funktioniert eben, und darum 4 Sterne und meine Empfehlung.

It's great having a means of managing PGP mail on one's iPhone, and this product seems to work very well.

I cannot see why it has to be so expensive though! GnuPG is freeware, so why the huge price-tag?

Ganz klar, 5 Sterne von mir.
App. macht das was es machen soll & das kinderleicht!!

Endlich ist EMail im geschäftlichen Sinne nun voll einsetzbar.

Ganz dickes Lob, für mich die am meist herbei gesehnte App. fürs iPhone.

Wenn jetzt noch MIME (siehe meinen Vorvorschreiber) unterstützt wird, würde ich 6 Sterne geben.

After a few days unable to use the software for any purpose (frustrating for a $50 app), eventually found which key the app was missing when it was telling me "Decryption key not found".  App is lacking in reporting its error messages.  Otherwise does the job well, although integration with iOS is somewhat painful.

Frist, the program works and does what it should do, you can encrypt and decrypt emails with it (5 Stars for this). But for this steep price I would expect 2 more features which should make the users life easier (minus 2 stars).

1. Multipart Mime support
Email are usually multipart mime encoded, so decoding all parts and offering separate handling for this (think file attachments) is a must. Also I'd like to add files I want to encrypt (from Goodread for example, or even better dropbox support), this also implies multipart mime support for composing (email) messages.

2. Why encrypt and decrypt in 2 separate views? One view, two buttons makes more sense here.

Endlich gibt es PGP nun auch für das iPad/iPhone!!! Nach einem kurzem Test kann ich die App. sehr empfehlen. Der Import der Schlüssel (PGP Ver. 10) verlief absolut problemlos. Ich habe dafür den Goodreader benutzt. Es geht aber auch anders ;) Das Ver-/entschlüsseln von Mails/SMS klappt einwandfrei und ist aus meiner Sicht kinderleicht. Wer bislang seine Mails ohne Verschlüsselung verschickt hat, sollte sich SecuMail unbedingt anschauen!!! Den 5. Stern gibt es, sobald das Signieren von Mails funktioniert und die Schlüsselsuche noch weiter optimiert wird.

A real crypto app for those of us who are concerned about communicating privately on the iPhone. Ability to import keys, AES-256 support, and good mail integration.

Yea it's 50 bucks. But to truly appreciate it, you should download some of the others first. Most have bad English in the UI or only support 8 character pre-shared keys.  I'd charge the same if I wrote it. There's just no competition at this level.

The only thing I'd like to see is auto blanking of the encrypt tab anytime the app is closed and reopened.

the app should offer a lot of features that others don't, but it's just the other way around. For 10 times the price of oPenGP it is not possible to get private and public key into the app via iTunes. It only works with Dropbox. Are you kidding me?! A private key on a cloud service?! oPenGP has that feature and works as good as this bummer app.

Is this a great tool? Yes it is however it opens your secret key up to theft by anyone who gets there hands on your iPhone. This program MUST be changed to include an initial passcode lock using AES encryption. As this app is very very expensive I expect more...  Hence why I gave it 1 star. Change this and I'll change my rating.

暴露という本を読み、これからは暗号だ！　とひらめいて「新版暗号技術入門」も読み、そしてPGPの導入をしようとあれこれ試行錯誤中です。Macには幸いなことにGPG Toolsという素晴らしいソフトウエアがあり、よいのですが、iPhoneではどのアプリがよいのか、人柱になるつもりSecuMail 5,000円、oPenGP 400円、iPGMail 200円の３つを買いました。

　過去のレビューには色々書いてありますが、日本語に関してはUTF-8を使えばいずれのアプリも使えています。送信側がWindows DOS, ISO 2022-JP, Shift JISなどだと文字化けして読めません。PGPの暗号化・復号化だけを考えると、いずれのアプリも問題なく動作します。

　SecuMailだけが飛び抜けて値段が高いので、何か飛び抜けて長所があるのかと期待して購入しましたが、期待は外れました。他のアプリと違って対称暗号（AES256等々）の暗号化・復号化に対応しているくらいで、PGPだけを使うのであれば利点はありません。SecuMailの欠点として、秘密鍵をパスフレーズの入力無しに書き出せる点でしょうか。iPhoneの盗難に遭うと、秘密鍵も持って行かれてしまいます。

　iPGMailは、他にない特徴として秘密鍵・公開鍵を作成する機能がついています（他の二つにはついていない）。subkeyにも対応しています。これひとつでPGPと思われている方にはよいかもしれません。iPGMailにも秘密鍵・公開鍵の書き出しの機能がありますが、秘密鍵の書き出しにはパスフレーズを入れないとできないので、一定のセキュリティーは保たれています。

　oPenGPが見た目のインターフェース、操作したときの扱いやすいさ、パスフレーズを保存する・しないなどの設定とか、優れているので、値段を抜きに考えた場合、oPenGPが一番使いたくなる感じです。値段の問題を考えても、oPenGPが一番リーズナブルでしょう。ちなみに鍵の書き出しについては、公開鍵の書き出しには対応していますが、秘密鍵の書き出しはできない仕様なので安心と言えます。

　SecuMailには、値段が10倍するぶんだけ、もっと頑張ってもらいたいところです。メールアプリとしての機能も持ち、暗号・復号を意識させない快適なユーザーインターフェイスだとよいのですが。丁度、GPG ToolsをインストールしたMac OS Xのメールのように。あるいは、ECCという最新の非対称暗号を導入して、ユーザーインターフェイスにすぐれたThreemaというアプリのように。

I'd bought 4 other apps which I'd hoped would let me send clear signed emails to Nominet.  None worked.  This one did (although I had to import the keys from another app, but that's fine)

I can now sign ALL my email again. It's been very inconvenient to turn on my computer just to sign my email.

Updating review: This software is still rock solid despite the lack of updates. I haven't tried or trusted any other PGP apps beside this one. 

It could use some updating to add modern integration with share sheets or even an integrated keyboard app in iMessage. But for now I copy and paste what I need. 

Thanks for the app! Don't give it network access.

If you have an iPhone and value security on the road, this is the way to do it. I tried one other app first and it was both buggy and limited. SecuMail is easy to use and integrates well with mail. Support answers questions quickly and competently.

I tested SecuMail by sending messages to a PC with GPG. I was able to en- and decrypt everything thanks to OpenPGP standards. However, I found SecuMail easier to use than the command line on the PC, both for messages and keys.

Great job and worth the money!

Zu diesem Preis lässt sich eine professionelle Umsetzung erwarten - und genau so wirkt diese App mit auch vielen Details, die die Nutzung erleichtern. Perfekt!

Nach wie vor viel zu teuer, aber dafür auch brauchbar. Man findet günstigere GPG-Anwedungen für iOS, diese wird aber wenigstens ordentlich gepflegt und erfüllt ihren Dienst.

Liebe Entwickler, versucht doch mal, die App zu einem günstigeren Preis anzubieten, dann kann ich Sie auch anderen potentiellen Nutzern empfehlen - die nutzen zur Zeit lieber das in iOS kostenfrei integrierte S/MIME.

Does everything exceptionally well. I use the gpgtools for apple mail on my MacBook and this app for my iPad and iPhone. 

Would like to see auto choose or ask which clearsign ID to use. And maybe even an option to set clearsign as an attachment. 

Very well done and professional looking app. :-) keep up the good work guys!!!

we use pgp and gpg and works great with both file types, support is the greatest!!! They worked with me to get everything working...thanks guys! App also imported private and public keys!!

Do not let the price of this application steer you away, it is by far the best PGP application available for iOS.  It handles decryption and rendering of complex MIME documents and inline attachments.  Unlike the other PGP applications in the App store this one is not constrained to text/plain only.  The robust attachment and MIME handling is amazing!  This application is similar to Enigmail for iOS.  Development/support are also friendly and responsive.  If you are serious about PGP this application delivers.  I have some od use cases and this application fits those needs very well!

Update 1.8: absolut professionell. Ich nutzte es mittlerweile für fast meine gesamte Mail-Kommunikation.

Update 1.6: Nun ist SecuMail fast vollständig und somit jeden Penny wert. Alle Daumen hoch.

Version 1.5: Die Basisfunktionen von PGP sind vorhanden. Updates kommen regelmäßig und erweitern jedesmal den Funktionsumpfang. Der Support antwortet schnell und kompetent. Weiter so! Endlich PGP für iOS.

This is an app that I was waiting for, for a long time. It handles attachments which is critical. Great product and support is excellent, very responsive. Actually by far the best tech support I ever had to deal with! Good job guys. 

Just keep the "encoding" support updated
