I have the WiFi add-on on order. The big piece missing on the app is setting timing on the immersion heater. You have this functionality for your thermostats, can you carry that across for the immersion heater users? I only have this box because it was fitted for ECO-4. Why have you created such a simple switch that’s good, but sadly such a basic app control that is dreadful? Having said that the back box is rubbish, why make something 2 different colours? First the display on an iPhone does not show the boost countdown correctly - Why? Second, connecting from app to switch can be lengthy, why so long for such a basic setup? Third, more important I have 3 of these switches, but when wanting to turn on a boost for example, I have no idea which is which!! WHY not do something simple and include an edit button to make each device reconcilable???? Simples! I’m m not daft enough to know you will not listen or take note, but going give it a go. Update….31st May Well you wonderful developers, you have in fact added a name identification change option! Yep to the right of the notification bell there SHOULD be a settings gear, BUT on the iPhone 11 that CANNOT be seen!! That gear icon also gives access to the Wi-Fi connection, BUT if you cannot see the gear I cannot use the app for Wi-Fi, BRILLIANT work!!! I would suggest you check all phones to confirm what works and what doesn’t. Poor app why release such an app if you cannot see the icon? ### 1/5 — Very disappointing and frustrating!! *2025-04-16, version 2.0.8.0* Recently “upgraded” from our old Horstmann heating control, and paid a premium for the added WiFi adapter as many others have. The system just never works! Why? As others have said, the LCD displayed controller constantly loses connection to the main unit, which is probably why when opening the App it never connects! Really hope the system is being worked on in the background for a much needed update. Otherwise, we’ve wasted a considerable amount of money on something that should really just have been “plug an play”. May as well not have bothered with this. Most of the time it never connects to my device - just the odd occasion. Despite everything the tech support suggested it would not work. We are left with the manual switch and no remote control which was the purpose of installing this system. Impossible to connect with the system .,……. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Slow and too basic *2026-06-14, version 2.0.11.0* This is the most frustrating app on my phone. Unfortunately, it is by far the most frustrating. It is painfully slow to pull anything up. Gives zero notifications when heating comes on. The most frustrating aspect is that it wouldn’t take much to make it better. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work 98% of the time *2026-02-22, version 2.0.10.0* Utter garbage. I can see the controller is connected to my WiFi via my WiFi network app and it has a strong signal. However, when trying to connect via this app it just shows the spinning donut of death and eventually says can’t connect. If I keep trying, maaaaybe after 20-25 minutes I will get it to connect. Same on my wife’s phone and on an android phone I have. I tried customer support and told them all the diagnostic steps I’d already tried. After 10 days they wrote back to tell me to try all the things I literally told them in my email that I’d tried. My advice… get rid and get a Hive. ### 1/5 — Next to useless can not connect *2026-02-14, version 2.0.10.0* This app has always been substandard for the digital age of apps that control stuff however the content inability of the app to connect to the controller is so frustrating! Pass the contract of the development of the app onto a developer that is going to take it seriously and develop an app that is usable! Or give us an api to control the heating from another app or home assistant!!! ### 1/5 — Absolutely awful *2026-02-06, version 2.0.10.0* Doesn’t connect 99% of the time. Not only does it refuse to connect 99% of the time, even when you do connect there is no boost for the heating, but there is one for water?!?! But as previously stated, it never works anyway. Update 29th Dec 2025 Oh dear another problem with this poor app! After adding another system to the app, you cannot remove it if you want to! WHY? There is no link to say manage system. So chuffed boost works perfectly! For years I thought it didn't work because I wasn't t it properly by the wall appliance. This makes this app makes it so easy and it connected effortlessly with Bluetooth! Can spend a lot more money on features you really don’t need. Occasional crash of the app but so infrequent can’t really call it annoying. Much easier than the Hive app which I have used and is painful to set up so well done secure controls. ### 3/5 — Works but basic and slow to connect *2026-01-23, version 2.0.10.0* The app functionality is very basic but it works. My main gripe with it is that it seems to take anywhere from 2-30 seconds for it to connect by bluetooth. That’s fine if you don’t use it often, but I use it at least once a day to time my hot water around Octopus Agile half hourly tariffs. It’s nice that you can copy a schedule to all days of the week easily. It would be nice though if that wasn’t necessary in the first place, and you could just set a single schedule that applies for all days. I have not yet tried it in wi-fi mode. ### 3/5 — Randomly Stops Working *2025-04-16, version 2.0.8.0* This has been a great app, and after fitting the WiFi module, can even adjust things away from home.
